    Ronnie performed his last concert in August of 2009, he died 8 months later in May of 2010 at the age of 67. RIP RJD. Thanks for all the great times and music you gave to the world.

      I agree with you totally, no disrespect to Ozzy, Ozzy did some great music on his own in my opinion, but most of his time with Sabbath was just ok in my opinion, the music was great, but Ronnie brought it to a whole other level! I think Ronnie was the best metal vocalist there's ever been! Now, on another note, MELODY CRISTEA ofI LILIAC has tremendous vocal abilities for Dio type sounding music! I love her short clips of her doing either Sabbath or Dio! I just wish she would do more of it, but they want to get away from covers and I understand it, but I think she could maybe put together an album with SABBATH NIGHTS of a good dark style sounding band and kind of follow in the footsteps of the Dio sound! Just my opinion!

    Falling off the Edge of the World and Over and Over, were intended to be played as a unit, just as they are arranged on the original album.
    In order to fully appreciate this masterpiece set of heavy rock perfection, you must listen them, in the order in which they were originally arranged.
    Better yet, start with side one of MOB RULES, and listen to the album in its entirety. F.O.T.E.O.T.W. and O&O, are essentially the crescendo of this masterpiece of METAL.
    I personally believe this collection is unsurpassed among musical recordings, of any genre, and it will remain in this position of superiority beyond the end of time.

Ronnie!...yeh...Dio basically lived for music...if you get a chance to see the Documentary on Dio called " Dreamers never Die".. you'll see how dedicated he was and excepted nothing but your best. The song "Computer God" off of the Album Dehumanizer is so apt today...that it's almost like a song prophecy when it was written back in the late 80's.

      Im a huge fan of Dio and think he is the greatest metal singer of all time and im far from being alone in that so i we will have to disagree on that one but im also a huge fan of the drummer Vinny Appice who played with Dio for a long time both in Dio and in Sabbath (like in this video), i think he is quite underrated, he has got an awesome heavy groove that suits this kind of music like a glove. Geezer is of course a legend and awesome as well.

Black Sabbath live 1980 - Heaven and hell. Dio- Live in Holland 1983, the songs: Stand up and shout, Straight through the heart, Shame on the night, Dont talk to strangers.

    Dio's voice was about thirty years past its best at this point, which tells you how great it was at the peak of his powers. I think his best work was with Rainbow, he did some great stuff with Sabbath, and his solo career was patchy after the first couple of albums.

    • @Stefan-
      @Stefan- Год назад +1

      Personally as a huge fan since the 80´s i think he peaked when he was in his 40´s around the Holy diver period, he was always a great singer though even when he was still in his teens. I think his voice didnt take well to touring in his older days which is understandable, he tended to sound way better on record at the same time but at his peak he would often outperform what he did on the current record live, that is how good he was. I have witnessed it in person quite a few times.

    • @delorangeade
      @delorangeade Год назад +1

      @@Stefan- The best his voice ever sounded, as far as when I was seeing him live, was on the Dream Evil tour. If you listen to his performance from Donington in 1987 he was hitting clean notes he hadn't attempted in years. All the Fools Sailed Away from Dream Evil is one of his best vocal performances. For me, after that he got a bit too growly in his delivery and it may be metal, but it isn't my favourite style.

    • @Stefan-
      @Stefan- Год назад +1

      @@delorangeade The first time i saw him live was in 1987 here in Stockholm when i was still in my teens, it was totally mindblowing how good he was. Regarding the growlyness, i think it started in the Black sabbath -Heaven and hell period already (see the live video from 1980 here on youtube) and was perfected at least in Holy diver period, i really like that growlyness but i also like the different periods in his career, his voice/style changed somewhat between the 70´s and 80´s at least. One of the mindblowing qualities of Dio´s singing was that he could both sing as beautiful as an angel and the next moment he could sound more like a roaring devil, he was very versatile really.
