- Manitoba musicians celebrate the life of Ronnie James Dio by recreating the Hear 'n' Aid Video
We have had some negative comments for some strange reason so I would like to let everyone know that I think we did a great job on this tribute. We made this video just after Dio's passing. We are all Dio fans and this is our way of saying thanks and good bye to a great man. We did this video in 4 days including organizing the artists, recording audio and video, and all the editing. During the same 4 days we set up and promoted a show at the Osborne Village Zoo for true Dio fans to celebrate the life of Dio. We were able to have the video ready and premier at the Celebration of Dio show. Nobody made any money on the video or the show. Everyone involved donated there time for this. The brainchild for the project was Heather Greentree, a true Metal Maiden.
Ronnie James Dio will live on forever in his music and our memories.

As Canadian's maybe this should be called Hearin' Eh? Good job all around. A bunch of regular folks coming together to pay tribute to one of the greatest rock singers ever, Ronnie James Dio. God on all of you for putting your heart into this!

Gotta love the Winnipeg Metal scene. I'm from Winnipeg and its a smaller city but the musicians are tight. These are some of the nicest people you could ever meet and they are all very talented and respectful musicians. Please no more negative comments anymore, they put a lot of work into this, for the love of music.

Much respect 2 this. Clearly no1 is pretending they can emulate what was produced by the immense talent on the original, but this is a great effort, brought up-2-date & with a unique slant on it.
Very good, It's nice and very humbling to see the Metal community come together to pay tribute and homage to undoubtedly one of the grandfathers of metal. Keep rocking on...God Bless!
Ronnie was such a hero to so many people and bands. He was one of the best people i ever had the chance to meet. When he passed my band also di a show with nothing but Dio covers. Thank you guys so much for doing this and showing so much respect to a true metal god. Keep the metal faith.

Why would anyone hate this? It is a group of musicians giving a tribute to a rock God. They are not standing there saying we are better than Ronnie, they are saying thanks to Ronnie for everything he did. Well done guys and RIP Ronnie.
Covering a great song with so many great rock musicians involved in the original was not an easy job to do.

This tribute was cool. If the quality is not the same as the original, was because they had no time, they are good musicians. Musicians of metal that must be respected, to be more honest style of the world. The effort is made to mount a metal band and keep it on active duty is not easy. Congratulations to all who participated. We send a big hug metal here in Brazil for all of you.
Its all about the passion he gave us in his music. His voice sang to us the riches and depth of his soul. A wonderful man, humanitarian. A small man with an enormous voice that sang of rainbows and magic yet he was pure metal. Thank you all for honoring him. DIO three small letters chanted for the greatest voice of all time.

Man I got to say, respect to those for taking time to do this. That is what is called the Heart of Metal, to stand with our brothers and sisters for a good cause no matter the cost. Does not matter how they sound, they just wanted to send respect to the metal community. You guys, I tip my hat off to you!

stumbled on this....bein a metal freak for 30 years....saw the original so many times....vhs many friday nites with my buddies....i still see meniketti hit the first note...rjd...halford...tate...all the gods....great memories with this song.....thanks for the tribute to rjd....applaud it....

Anyone who puts down any tribute to RJD, is putting down Dio himself. The man was all about Love, respect and most of all METAL. There are great and not so great tributes, but no bad tributes.

I was 11 going on 12 when Stars was released originally (hard to believe it's been that long! *feeling old now*), & it was in my to 10 favorite songs for many years. I still like to listen to it when time permits. I think Manitoba's rock scene did a tribute here very much in the spirit that Ronnie did in the 80s. Keep up the good work!

It's always cool to do something in memory of a so great singer. Of course, original version is probably way better, but at this time it was done by the best of hard rock and metal artists, it's hard to equal that level.

My best friend(bro, he called us all bro) and I saw Scorpions on their final tour in Nashville where they did Send Me an Angel in tribute to Dio... My bro would love to hear this but he is now an angel himself so I see this as a tribute to both he and Dio... Anyway, great job. M3TAL...
So many wonderful people have expressed their love for Dio. True fans. Then there are people so mean, critical and full of hate? Old school Metal fans should stand together because there are not many of us left. Please think before you comment and ask yourself WWDD? Dio would be kind, gracious and humble. I think he knows that we did it for love. It was done for him and only for him. We just wanted to express our grief and pay tribute to him. We also wanted to celebrate his life with our Metal family. We all loved Ronnie. We were so lucky to have him on this Earth. Rejoice in his name. \m/
