I just want to say thanks a lot for the way you explain how things work and how you speak your troubleshooting thoughts out to the camera. I’m based in Wales, UK. I’m not trained as a mechanic, but I live on a farm , so ending up doing a bit of spanner work at times. I always find it interesting to know how and why things work as they do/should. Also, how you arrive at the source of a problem. It’s like I’m serving an apprenticeship. Please keep up the good work. All the best, Nic.

I feel sad really for the future. The younger generation coming through as in mechanics, engineers etc are all new school, learning it all from books.. My fear is unless we as a generation are careful. All the old school knowledge and skills are going to be lost... The trouble is those old school skills and knowledge is what defines an ok mechanic into a awesome mechanic. One who does not just read from a book but has practical experience not just in the modern electronic stuff but also in the good old fashioned nuts and bolts of why something does something and how it works, what it does and why it does it... all that precious knowledge is going to end up being lost. I see you here rebuilding that housing all old school... I wonder if a new school would have even thought of it... instead of ok this is goosed need to replace.... It is heartening to see likes of yourself Warren, who willingly shares your experiences and knowledge to help others learn and grow in their skills. It is people like you, who will keep the old and true school alive and keep the world rotating as it should be. Your videos are not just a vlog of your days. Great work! Little trick I found works good on those axles for getting the races out, may already know but take you a torch and heat 3 spots on the race cherry red and usually they will fall right out! As long as it aint chewed up. We do a lot of Lull axles and they are all that style. Like the idea of drilling the caps out, save a lot of time and money with a little grease.

Hello Warren - I am in totally agreement regarding doing your own repair on that axle housing. Here’s a little hint that has served me well for years. Save all your old grinding wheels in various diameters. After several months you will accumulate many different sizes. Then you can pick one or more diameter disc’s to use in repairing your hole or cup. As you clean up your welding repair, you increase your disc size till your only a few thousandths smaller. Now your making your hole much smoother and rounder because of the surface area your grinding at all times. Trouble with die grinding with a carbide bit is, it’s always a series humps and hollows as carbide wants dig in.

not everyone has the budget to replace everything. You are showing a new generation how to keep stuff going the old fashioned way, and still be safe and reliable.
Really enjoy the channel but I must say at 32.00 I was yelling at my phone. You were making my finger hurt running yours around that torn up axle housing lol. I have spent a lot of time over the years digging metal out of my fingers. Spent 37 years of mechanics, farming & dirt track racecars so far.
Need to chang the offset of the front wheels. Narrow them up swop the wheels to opposite sides. Using afront end loader with the wheels wide will fuuck the bearings and kingpins.
Well in some areas you can't it will turn over don't know where this one is working but in my area they put snap on duals for the bushogging tractors and all the loader tractors are as wide as possible
We just got a JD 6310 back together that spun the balance shaft bearings and ruined the block. The injection pump was leaking diesel into the crankcase! We put in a JD rebuilt engine. Two bearings we in the oil pan and the other one fell out when we pulled the balance shaft.
Warren When Kathryn's puppy gets to running like that, she calls it getting her zoomies on.lol 😎 And you must have the magic touch, I can't run a 7018 on dirty metal at all.🤔
On another note, do you have a high school nearby that has a Vo-Ag or mechanical program? Maybe a student could catalog all of your parts and help you list and sell them. Perhaps a portion of the sales could be donated to the program that provided volunteers, or to the volunteers directly. The kid(s) could learn something about reselling and valuation, and you could turn some expensive paperweights into cash. ✌🏻
Warren, i keep thinking if I watch your videos, all my mechanic work will get easier. After watching the small dozer issues on previous vids and this steering knuckle, I am thinking I am going to sell all my old shit and buy new with warranties as to not have to break out torches and sledge hammers.
I’ve been doing the same thing, I set the caps in the lathe and drill them out, Deere used to in the older tractors must not of sold enough parts ha. Can’t beat a good wiener dog race👍
Did a really bad one of them on a 2650 we bought for the farm, started to wear into the axle on one side. we rebuilt it and is still going 3500 hours later.
Hey just was curious if you have been taken a transmission out of a 1996 Ford f250 7.3 liter powerstroke 4x4 and had any tips on the easiest way to do that and great job with the videos they help alot man thanks
Hey warren, what’s your opinion on power quads vs power shift as far as reliability and usability? My neighbor with a 4440 swears up and down if we look at any tractor and see it has a quad range to just run away from it. Not really sure why though.
Our two Weiner dogs do the same thing. Especially every night when my wife goes to bed they go crazy wrestling around and what not. Then like Daisy we also have a 10 year old boxer who is cranky and the more cranky he gets the more my Weiner dog "Nugget" starts to chew on his back legs just like damn kids always seem to be pestering Flash our boxer. Fun dogs though and are tough as nails. Can't believe they were bred to go after badgers i guess I can see it though cause when one gets pissed off he will tear in our boxer in a second. Great companions though.
Shipping containers are hot for building vacation homes right now, and are being price gouged. The most inexpensive way to buy is to investigate buying one surplus at a major port and having it shipped to you, or you transport it.

how come the factory does not put the zerks were you will. great idea and necessary as well...
You might be getting old, but I see you can still move pretty fast !
Keep living the dream 👍👍
It's always a good time when it's Weiner time
Nice video Warren.
Saved that front end just in time.
The thumbs down vote was from the JD parts department, they lost a axel sale
How did the Bobcat come out?
The thumbs down are possibly from viewers who couldn't see what he was doing half the time. Jussayin'.
Really?? The fact he even films this is amazing. I do the same thing as Warren and could not imagine filming. There simply is never enough time.
Which one is the Keener Wiener, Oscar or Lulu? Fat Rubber Bands on Amazon to hold battery on impact.
Could you start your videos with a status on last repair?
You know what happened, but we just see a new job and wonder.
