some actual off-road rated parts for my Silverado!!! Very happy to see you guys coming out with home runs. My truck is a big truck and only 1 alignment shop can fit it on there rig. When I asked other shops how they were doing it they said they just drove it over there to have it done and charged me to drive it back n forth from there competition (the only shop in town it will fit for sure)
That’s cool!!! I sold my FJ and am currently looking at getting a Silverado and my FJ had the poly performance taco tabs on it. So this is a very cool thing to see 🤙🤙
Fuck yeah , it’s so cool finding an issue with your truck.. Then completely discovering the solution to your problem ! But then your reminded of your bank account.
I order the kit but didn’t install it. New bolts are half the tick of the original ones. Going to see if they can cut new kit with plasma cutting computer to fit factory bolts
Every time we have a GM come into our shop the alignment guide tab is usually gone and the cam itself is completely moved out of spec. I was wondering when someone was going to make something to fix these issues.
Yes the when the factory cams start moving around a lot it will push the pins out. If you're proactive and install our cams before hand the pins will remain in tact. We will soon be offering the pins as well. On vehicles that see a lot of abuse or have a bracket lift with big tires we will fuse weld the pin on the inside with a tig welder for reassurance.

@@dirtking Thank you, bud. It seems like the flat bolt is better for adjusting camber, as opposed to the solid round bolt. I just replaced every balljoint on my 2004 Avalanche. I know it's way out of alignment, the front end feels like it's washing out back-n-forth, when I drive on uneven pavement. I think my new A-arm is bottoming out on the metal stop. Do you think it would stop my front end sway, if I used a grinder to cut out some room for the A-arm to clear the stop ? I appreciate you taking time to reply.👍
@@ricktaylor3748 I don't think that will solve your problem but it's hard to say without looking over the vehicle and knowing more info. I'd suggest going to a local shop to explain the issues and have them look everything over.
So you think an alignment shop won't be able to align my truck properly if I go with these already installed? Because I've had these installed for over a year now I went to alignment as soon as I put these on with new upper control arms but I don't think they touched them. Since the original hardware has the flat edge on the bolt the control arms move when tightening and these don't 🤔
If you think they charged you and didn't do the work then ask them for an alignment print out. That will show if it's within factory specifications or not. If the vehicle has additional caster that is okay but make sure the toe and camber are within spec. Most alignment shops will install our cams but fewer will align them once installed. This is because they align the truck with the factory cams and then match those settings on our cams. If you bring the vehicle in with our cams installed they can't simply rotate the head of the bolt to move the alignment in or out. The same thing that makes the factory cams easy to align is the same thing that make it easy for them to come out of alignment.
Hi Dirt King , I have a Question . I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 2WD The problem is that the truck is (lowered 4'/6' ) and I always have problem with alignment , even your product would work? Thanks for your videos.
Yes this product will work as long as the upper control arms mount to the factory location on the chassis and no modifications have been made to the upper control arm mounts on the chassis.
Is there a similar solution like this for 2018 Silverado 2500 L5P I notice mine has similar cams to those but didn’t hear a mention of that year and model
Yes we make a kit for that model. They look nearly identical but the dimensions are different. Here is the link to the product. dirtkingfabrication.com/collections/silverado-2500/products/upper-arm-alignment-cams-dk-638919
Bro mine misplaced so bad no wonder the truck started shaking from the drives side front wheel I checked them out and they are bad misplaced but weird how the wheel still straight thoe I don’t understand 🤔
No the small alignment pins should stay in a fixed position. Once they become loose they will begin to enlarge the hole on the chassis and fall out. Our alignment pins have a larger knurl to have a tight fit even after that hole has enlarged some. If you're currently having pins that are moving then I'd suggest fixing it sooner rather than later because if it gets too bad you'll need to weld the pins in place.
If the plastic guards are in still in place and there is no damage does this mean the camber is the same from the factory (assuming all other joints did not shift) and did not shift since it only has one hole for the pin? Does the intact plastic indicate a single fixed set position?
Yes that plastic piece means your alignment is set at factory settings. The plastic inserts are used to set the alignment but they don't add protection against the alignment shifting.
How do you solve the pins popping out aside from tacking the new ones in? The new ones press in nicely then immediately fall out, so as it happens i just tack in new ones now. Ive welded 2 new pins in so far. Ive seen these and want to try them, but I'm afraid thay the rest of the pins will break, and im not sure if im supposed to be welding new ones in..
Our pins have a larger diameter where they press in and are knurled to grip better. They do not require them to be welded. In the past we would weld the factory pins or weld other manufactures pins but since developing our own pins we just press them in. Our pins give you the best chance of staying put but if you're having issues with them falling out also the only option is to weld them.
I would ask around for a shop that specializes in lifted trucks. Firestone turned me away & pep boys lied to me. I explained the lift to them, they said they could do it. 2wks later they find out during the apptmt that they can't align it

So the bolts don't have the flat spot? I do alignments and these seem like it would make my job a lot harder, and would take a lot longer to align, raising the price of the alignment. Then the customer is going to whine about that. Every time i would have to adjust it, I'd have to jack it up, some way slide it out, lock it down. That may take an hour per side. When you can align these in about 15-20 minutes. Thats setting every angle too, not just toe
Any help be appreciated what’s the best way to get a tighter steering for a 1999 Chevy suburban k1500 5.7 ? I’ve changed upper and lower shaft steering bearing the only thing I haven’t changed is the gear box I went with the doorman rag joint cause the universal shaft wouldn’t fit thanks.
My suggestion is to put floor jacks under both lower control arms and with the help of a friend cycle the steering to look for components that have play. Cycle the steering two different ways, turn the steering wheel and manually push the tires. Sometimes it's hard to visually see the issue so you can also put your hand on different parts to feel for slop. If you don't find anything turn the steering wheel with the vehicle on the ground. There's many parts that could contribute to loose steering and it could be a combination of parts. Things that you'll want to inspect are control arm mounting points (our alignment cams will solve the issue of the arms moving at the chassis), wheel bearings, ball joints, bushings, tie rods, and gear box.
Quick question I just order these casters from you all since I heard good things about it but I was wondering can I put these casters on and then take my truck to get it Aligned??
You could but it will cost more for the alignment and some alignment shop won't align it. The best way to describe it is what makes the vehicle easy to get knocked out of alignment is also what makes it easy to align. I recommend installing the kit after the vehicle is aligned and then you don't need to worry about it again.
The alignment on the Tacomas are a different style that the GM 1500s. The Tacoma alignment cams have a different issue that causes the alignment to shift. The cam tabs easily bend so we make a gusset kit to strengthen the weak link. Here is a link to the product. dirtkingfabrication.com/collections/tacoma/products/alignment-cam-gussets
