    Hey Blake. Great work! I never see you flatten your slabs on one side before running them through your planer. Are you just omitting that from the video or is your S2S lumber that much better than what I can get? Thanks and keep up the great videos!

      I usually just flip them over several times and they end up pretty flat. And by the time they are joined together as a box they will be pulled perfectly flat because the edges are all straightened by the adjoining pieces.

    Good video only thing that would make it better is to make shorter or faster segments this way it was getting boring looking at the same thing for a while

    8:49 if it's all natural wood, dump it on your garden, it's like sweeeet fertiliser.

    My garbage man asked me a long time ago if I could quit dumping my wood chips/dust directly into the garbage can and start using a bag. It created quite a bit of dust for him when he dumped it into his truck. Just saying.....

    Side fact, did you know walnut dust contains ELLAGIC ACID, a rather potent sedative? Breathe enough of it without a respirator and you might fall asleep standing up in your shop. Great build btw, and great shop for a small space.

    Forgive me, just binge watching your videos. When you opened the shed with all the wood, I thought to myself, “Ooo, he has some nice wood.” Ya know, in some cultures showing someone your shed full of wood is a marriage proposal. Happily married here. Just thought you should know.

    Your garage is inspiration. I'm going to build essentially a 1.5 sized garage this spring (just deeper than a regular single car garage). You mentioned owning a Grizzly joiner... you might really enjoy a Felder/Hammer/Minimax joiner planer much better and it fits small spaces. 12" wide available in any of the aforementioned brands. Enjoy your channel.

    I appreciate how 'clean' you like to keep the shop and how you take a few min to clean up after you work. Nothing wrong with just moving on but there's something that eases my mind when working in a 'reasonably' clean environment. Looking forward to part 2

    • @weberwoodshop

      I'm not sure where those pieces came from. There is a place called Global Wood Source in the Bay Area that has stuff like that all the time though.

    Nice intro with the Sketch Up plans ! Im a novice to woodworking, and I am impressed with the flush cut saw every time I see it in use. Blake, would you please suggest a proper flush cut saw ? Thanks.

      I think the one you can get at a big box store is called the "shark saw"? Pretty much any of them are great for your first one.

    glad to see another video - i really like the shooting style and how it's all put together really well. i'm really digging the current wave of scandinavian modern-style furniture that's out there these days - such great stuff! we're finally back above zero degrees, so it looks like i'll be out in the shop here soon! have fun, be safe!

    Hey Blake, what made you decide to make it out of solid wood instead of using plywood and covering the edges with solid wood or edge banding?

    • @weberwoodshop
      @weberwoodshop  6 лет назад +1

      Because I'm dovetailing all the joinery in the corners of the boxes and because real wood is better and because I had a bunch of killer walnut in my shed and because I don't work at the Ikea factory and because why not?
