Hey Blake. Great work! I never see you flatten your slabs on one side before running them through your planer. Are you just omitting that from the video or is your S2S lumber that much better than what I can get? Thanks and keep up the great videos!
I usually just flip them over several times and they end up pretty flat. And by the time they are joined together as a box they will be pulled perfectly flat because the edges are all straightened by the adjoining pieces.
Good video only thing that would make it better is to make shorter or faster segments this way it was getting boring looking at the same thing for a while
My garbage man asked me a long time ago if I could quit dumping my wood chips/dust directly into the garbage can and start using a bag. It created quite a bit of dust for him when he dumped it into his truck. Just saying.....
Side fact, did you know walnut dust contains ELLAGIC ACID, a rather potent sedative? Breathe enough of it without a respirator and you might fall asleep standing up in your shop. Great build btw, and great shop for a small space.
Forgive me, just binge watching your videos. When you opened the shed with all the wood, I thought to myself, “Ooo, he has some nice wood.” Ya know, in some cultures showing someone your shed full of wood is a marriage proposal. Happily married here. Just thought you should know.
Your garage is inspiration. I'm going to build essentially a 1.5 sized garage this spring (just deeper than a regular single car garage). You mentioned owning a Grizzly joiner... you might really enjoy a Felder/Hammer/Minimax joiner planer much better and it fits small spaces. 12" wide available in any of the aforementioned brands. Enjoy your channel.
I appreciate how 'clean' you like to keep the shop and how you take a few min to clean up after you work. Nothing wrong with just moving on but there's something that eases my mind when working in a 'reasonably' clean environment. Looking forward to part 2
Blake I really enjoy your video and voice over. Your music is well chosen also. Continue to bring us great woodworking content , you are doing it right! Jim
Nice intro with the Sketch Up plans ! Im a novice to woodworking, and I am impressed with the flush cut saw every time I see it in use. Blake, would you please suggest a proper flush cut saw ? Thanks.
glad to see another video - i really like the shooting style and how it's all put together really well. i'm really digging the current wave of scandinavian modern-style furniture that's out there these days - such great stuff! we're finally back above zero degrees, so it looks like i'll be out in the shop here soon! have fun, be safe!
Because I'm dovetailing all the joinery in the corners of the boxes and because real wood is better and because I had a bunch of killer walnut in my shed and because I don't work at the Ikea factory and because why not?
Design and choice of wood look good. Looking forward to this build.
Thanks!
Your video editing is improving and almost on par with your woodworking. Awesome work man.
Your videos are awesome Blake! And your workshop is pretty swish. I am looking forward to part 2!
Cool, thanks I'm working on it now ;)
great video, nice robot table

8:49 if it's all natural wood, dump it on your garden, it's like sweeeet fertiliser.

Good to know.
what do you listen to when woodworking?
Empty cup?
Gorgeous crotch grain in that slab. Looking forward to part 2.
Cool, thanks!

neal walden I'm in a single car garage as well.
Haha, "it looks like a Robot", GOOD WORK!
Do you happen to have invested in sunscreen stocktrade and are you a dentist by trade? ;) nice video Blake!
man, you look very serious while working
great video but the music drives you nuts after a couple of minutes, eventually turned the sound off. Classy project Amigo
Can't please everyone with any music choice.
The swedish techno killed me, the base line was too much

Yeah and I gotta admit being on camera encourages me to clean a little more often.

Texas Buckeye Workshop thanks!
I was looking forward to this episode and you didn't disappoint! Question are you self taught ?
Yes I am self taught.
Where do you get beautiful walnut like that?
I'm not sure where those pieces came from. There is a place called Global Wood Source in the Bay Area that has stuff like that all the time though.
I can’t wait to get out in the shop and make something like that! Well done!!
You make excellent videos!
Thank you!
This is great! I LOVE your editing and music. Forget I’m on RUclips, it’s like going to the movies for wood working!
Dan Taylor this is the truth!
Rad thanks!
Dan Taylor I agree!!
When your table saw fence costs more then the table saw 😁
Just found your channel and you’ve instantly become one of my favorite RUclipsrs. Up there with David Piccuto (sp?) and Chris Salamone (sp?).
Thanks a lot, glad you are enjoying the videos!
What program do you use to design your stuff ?
taking off fast...ur gonna go big quicker!
What program is that??
Faviel Norud Sketchup. It’s free!
Nice intro with the Sketch Up plans ! Im a novice to woodworking, and I am impressed with the flush cut saw every time I see it in use. Blake, would you please suggest a proper flush cut saw ? Thanks.
I think the one you can get at a big box store is called the "shark saw"? Pretty much any of them are great for your first one.
Blake Weber. Thanks ! I picked one up at Ganahl Lumber. I think it called a Bear Saw. 🖒🖒
amazing videos man. subbed
Really enjoying your videos! Subscribed
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing

Nice, happy building!
I'm enjoying your videos. What sort of blade guard/dust collector do you have on your table saw?
Its a Sawstop brand splitter that I modified to fit my DeWalt. I mention it in the Woodshop Tour video.
Quickly becoming one of my go to channels. Keep up the good work
Thanks will do!
Nice work, glad I have found you.
Thanks!
You keep everything so clean.
Its just a camera trick. I edit out all the sawdust ;)
Love your logo. Who made those labels?
Thanks! Sticker Mule made them.
Hey Blake, what made you decide to make it out of solid wood instead of using plywood and covering the edges with solid wood or edge banding?
Because I'm dovetailing all the joinery in the corners of the boxes and because real wood is better and because I had a bunch of killer walnut in my shed and because I don't work at the Ikea factory and because why not?
Blake Weber thanks for replying and for the information!
Big fan
From a Danish Weber
