For spring/summer: Peony and Blush Suede is absolutely gorgeous...I am lost for words when describing my love for it. Blackberry and Bay is also incredible. I have tried many others and these are the standouts. Edit: I forgot about Wild Fig and Cassis! I didn't know I could still get it!!!!! I was so bummed when it was discontinued! For fall/winter: Velvet Rose and Oud(omg...just gorgeous...I don't like rose scents, really, but this one I can do. It is drop dead sexy and a compliment getter). Also standouts for the season: Pomegranate Noir is my first love and will always be. I never get tired of it and it is my signature scent in fall/winter. I've tried and loved: Oud and Bergamot, Gingerlily and Amber, Nutmeg and GInger(which is discontinued, I think..I can't find it anywhere and IT IS stunning, as well. I have been told over and over that I must try Myrrh and Tonka as well as Mimosa and Cardamom. Those are on my list for next fall season. I've tried the Wood Sage and Sea Salt and to me, it's nothing special. It's actually my least favorite of JM and I think that's because it's not unique in any way...not to me, at least. But I think I'm very much alone in my opinion. lol.
Thanks! I screenshot your comment so i can look at it while sniffing them in the store. You made me excited to discover these! (And you too ofcourse Josephine)
This beautiful lady has eloquent vocabulary and most beautiful explanation with hand I'm so happy to be one of subscriber for this one the best channel on the fragrances community
I LOVE Mimosa and Cardamom and I so wish they made an intense version of it. I’m sure it would give me a lot of compliments if other people could smell it on me
Wood sage and sea salt is my favourite. But if you like natural smell perfume all range of jo malone is good for me. The myrrh and tonka is amazing and lime basil and mandarin is super recognisable if you wear it often.
I wear wood sage and sea salt as my signature scent and have been stopped by men and women alike regarding what I am wearing. I've never had a scent that so many of complimented me on continuously. I will never not have this is my arsenal of scents. It's magic by the sea all the time.
I love jo Malone! I had so many of them but I feel that I have a different experience with them than you Josephine :) For me 1. Peony & Blush Suede - is for me a summer cloudy day with a very ripe peony, I don't smell any apple though 2.Wood Sage is stormy weather over the sea, I don't fill any citrus whatsoever :) 3. lime basil & mandarin - smells like toilet rim block :) sorry :) I gave it to my mum.. 4. velvet rose and oud - a girl from JM stand sprayed me with this sent before I went to my laser appointment and the girl who was giving me this treatment was constantly saying how pretty it is, couldn't get enough - it is a very Christmasy sent 5. English Pear - is the most beautiful every-day sent - reminds me of late summer and early fall 6.Myrrah and Tonka is my signature winter scent - it gives that disturbing vibe of darkness and church - I would add one sweet note to it - it would be perfection - ideal to mix with honeysuckle which is too sweet on its own I would also add Pomegranate Noir which was created to impersonate a woman wearing a red dress
I love your poetic description of Myrrh & Tonka "disturbing vibe of darkness and church". I agree, but couldn't have put it so eloquently. I adore this fragrance for winter.
As a fellow fragrance lover, I found this super informative and helpful, Josephine. I am new to Jo Malone, and I definitely learned a lot more about JM scents through your video than I perhaps would have discovered on my own. (I took notes!) //// The 30 ml tip is great, and you are one of the few to say it. I usually go for 50 ml when I really like the scent + can afford to splurge at a given time. But yes, 30 ml is good coz you can have a few to experiment with at a time. Ooh, and Myrrh and Tonka is incidentally my first JM scent! It was a blind buy that happened during my very first visit to the store. 💜 It is one of my favourites. They gave me a sample of English Oak and Hazelnut to pair with it which I really like too. //// Eager to try a couple of the others you mentioned in this video. Thank you so much for your reviews! Your passion for perfumery is very exciting and inspiring, and I am a fan!!!! Fragrance talk is dreamy! ✨✨✨✨
Blackberry & Bay is definitely my favorite one and I want to get Wood sage & sea salt this Christmas!! I am curious to try them together ✨ Lovely video, thank you!
I used this combination for a solid 1.5 year and loved every single minute of it. It’s a well-balanced combination with a hint of sweetness from the Blackberry and a touch of a more masculine side from Wood sage ❤️
I love the Blackberry & Bay perfume. Interestingly enough, though, I don't get those notes. To me, it smells like a ripe, juicy, naturally sweet plum. I love to wear it year-round. Pomegranate Noir and Jasmin Sambac & Marigold are also lovely. My only gripe is that the scents do not last long.
I totally agree about buying the small bottles if you collect a lot of fragrances. I’ve made the mistake of buying the big bottles in the past only to find that they start turning rancid after a couple years. The orange blossom in particular gets really nasty and it changes color. I now buy small bottles and store in the fridge.
Great video, as always, Josephine!! I remember the first time I smelled Myrrh & Tonka, I fell head over heels with its sweet and balsamic scent! One of my favourite cozy fragrances for autumn and winter 💜
Here in Philippines during summer, Myrr and tonka smells also beautiful addictive creamy gourmand fragrance. Projection is very promising.. worth to buy JM
Jo Malone is my favourite fragrance brand. “Blackberry & Bay” is my signature scent and I sometimes mix it with “Wood sage & sea salt”. It makes such a unique scent. I also love “Nectarine blossom and honey” as an easy day time fragrance and “English Oak & hazelnut” is my favourite masculine scent from the range.
Oh, my, I have just read my own thoughts!!! I associate myself with Blackberry and Bay, and the next one is sea salt😍probably I have to try your other favourite smells
Hi, I always think that blackberry and bay is so underrated and I always fear Jo Malone will discontinue it one day. I am very glad there are other people who have the same taste! Thanks for your comment, have a great day!
The thing is, is it wise to spend a considerable amount of money for a cologne? If it's not going to last long enough on you, should you pick a cologne just because it smells great? Having said that, Jo Malone definitely has some amazing products.
Since almost all of them have only one or two major scents you can create your own signature scent by mixing 2 or more Jo Malone colognes together (layer them).
I just bought Myrrh & Tonka, which honestly at 500 Malaysian Ringgit is the most expensive perfume I've ever bought hahaha, but it's definitely such a good fragrance. I love the gourmand sweet scent.
Wonderful video Josephine! I work for JML in NewYork City, and your description of the scents was very articulate and spot on! makes even me want to buy them!
Another vote for Myrrh Tonka, went to the airport shop to buy sg for a friend, then had a chat with the SA who seemed to like the same frags as me, brought this to try and it was an immediate love for the scent. Doesn't seem to last mega long, but it smells expensive, different from what most people wear, yet not cloying, a great choice for the autumn.
I'm a big sucker for White Florals! Currently I've been addicted to Jo Malone Jasmine Sambac and Marigold, Jo Malone Orange Blossom, Avon Today and Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge! Ylang-ylang is native to my country and I had an ylang-ylang tree in our backyard when I was growing up. Smells amazing every sunrise! Although my signature scent has always been Elizabeth Arden Green Tea, not a white floral, just because it's the first scent I fell in love with since 2014.
I’m only for light and refreshing perfumes/colognes. I gave away all my perfumes and converted to Joe Malone as these are colognes and not too strong (people with migraines will understand). As you described them it is refreshing and light. I am starting to venture to Byredo as I have the Poplin room spray and it’s so light. I need to try the perfumes next.
Love your review❤️. Just received my JM Blackberry & Bay today and i love it so much! Smell so unique (Keep on smelling my wrist whole day 🥰). Think I'm not going to change my perfume anytime soon.
Great review but you're missing my fav - Red Roses!! Truly the best pure rose fragrance I've come across and insane longevity & projection for a Jo Malone! I also have Wood Sage & Sea Salt, and next I'm purchasing English Pear & Freesia :)
I have English Oak & Hazelnut and Wisteria & Lavender. Love the woody oldie smell of the EO&H cologne. Mixing it with W&L makes me feel as if I were in a beautifully scented garden.
Yes, I just picked-up English Oak & Hazelnut b/c it almost seemed like it was made for me! Usually, I don’t purchase a fragrance that quickly but it’s PERFECT if you love woody, nutty &/or earthy-leaning scents & I definitely do!👍😊 BTW, the combination you mentioned sounds amazing!
You are SOOO much more informative than the actual Jo Malone salespeople! Some of them are downright rude and super snooty. It's just fragrance, not a fancy watch lol!
The way you described each Scent. Jo malone owe you money 🤣🤣🤣 Just got the nashi blossom from them. And its smells really good.... can't wait to try the other one❤
I like the creative process in your videos with "they are really good at FLORAL scents" and you put in a roses top, which by the way looks beautiful on you
Thank you for your great effort. Jo Malone's prices are high considering their longevities but I think ingredients are so natural and their smells are so good. And some other brands have more expensive summer scents, also have short longevities. If you don't mind, I want to say that there's one missing beautiful unisex JM: Pomegranate Noir. See you soon.
I realize this is a couple years old but what a well done video on the Jo Malone line. I really like that you opened emphasizing and reminding people that JM are ‘Colognes’. I think that this is often forgotten and there’s a ‘whine’ about longevity, but they are colognes and many are beautifully built and blended around delicate notes. I had never paid a lot of attention to the line but as of lately became interested and late as I am (I’m thinking about 8 years) I sniffed Wood Sage & Sea Salt … and I completely fell in love with the fresh and clean of the scent, I just ordered a bottle and came looking to see if my J had done a review on the line and here we are. So a BIG Thank You to you for posting such a thorough and thoughtful review of the line! 💞
Blackberry and Bay sings in the sunshine. I love Bergamot and Oud for winter. It's beautifully cosy and reassuring. Earl Grey and Cucumber is soft and fresh too. Pomegranate Noir is excellent on cold days.
The best one (in my opinion) of the brand is English Pear & Freesia, but since they are colognes and don't last in my skin I think they are not worth my money.
Wood Sage and Sea Salt is my favorite. The only problem with this is I want it to last me all day and well as we know it does NOT. I have gone through a 30 ml bottle in a month! a MONTH! 😮. I bought the 100 ml bottle and am waiting for it to arrive ❤❤❤❤
I just found this video by chance because I bought Jo Malone for a non offensive summer scent. What beautiful description and evoking a feeling for each fragrance outstanding! Well done ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🤍
Amazing review! New subscriber from Hong Kong! I own full bottles of Wood Sage and Oud Bergamot, both my signature! Glad we share the same tastes in fragrances - I'm a guy who's also a fan of white floral notes like jasmine (jasmine tea addict), but torn between Jasmine Sambac & Marigold from JM and Jasmin Rouge from TF... any thoughts? Thanks!
Hi! Thanks so much for subscribing :) These two jasmine scents are so different. One is more "balmy/solar" and wearable for the day i.e. Jasmine Sambac & Marigold whilst the other is darker, more mysterious and smoky. Hope this helps!
maybe in the the U.S the travel size is affordable; Here in Toronto the price for the 30 ml is $110 -$115after taxes. However the wood sage and sea salt is my absolute favourite!
Oh no! Peony and Blush Suede? I can't trust you anymore, Josephine! 😛 Blackberry and Bay is my favorite as well as the Nectarine Blossom. Not sure I got the name right. I don't have it but I want it.
As far as the concentration levels go, the Jo Malone rep at the mall who was working the counter told me that the British wanted to separate themselves from the French regarding the labels: If their bottle says Cologne it's the equivalent to that of an EDT; Cologne Intense are supposed to be like an EDP; and the bottles that say Absolu are the "parfum" concentrations.
Thanks a lot for this video, I discovered your Chanel lately. My favourite is Amber ginger lily.. it's amazing for winter, cousy and last relatively long. But will definitely try out a couple of your recommendation. :)
Blackberry and Bay was my first Jo Malone Cologne that I bought, and I agree. This one suits winter or rainy day (I live in tropical country so we have no winter season here), I love to spray this during a rainy and cold day. It somehow makes me remember my childhood, it feels nostalgic. I love this vid so much! Thanks for making this amazing guide, it's helpful.
I absolutely love peony and blush suede...is velvet rose and oud similar? Do you know of any other scents similar but more potent than peony and blush suede please? x
I only own one scent and it’s blue agave and cacao 😍my friend recommended it and sounds like she has excellent taste😉👌 what else would you say I could get as my second fragrance which will resemble the feel of blue agave and cacao and not clash with the vibe?
This was such a great REVIEW VIDEO!!!! GIRL I was super hooked on the description of all the fragrances!! I LOVE perfumes and of course I love perfumes review videos, I am so glad that I found your Channel. I was looking for a woman's review on the Vetiver and Golden Vanilla from Jo Malone. Hopefully you can include it in one of your future videos. Love love love this video!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I LOVEEEE vetiver and golden vanilla!!! It’s such a nice vanilla. A tad bit masculine in the best way possible. I’ve gotten lots of compliments from men and women. I
Every Friday I am wearing a Nectarine Blossom and Honey, then one occasion we had to take a group photo and all of us need to compress to be able to occupy the camera, then my boss went very close to me and surprised he said I smelled so good. Haha. :)
Love this vid review. Well packaged in under 20minutes. Very educational too.. Post watching, it triggers me to drop by a store ASAP, to go try out the few recommended colognes. Truly an awesome review. Well executed, Josephine. Looking forward to more vids. Subscribed! 😀 Jo Malone should engage Josephine for more collaboration, or either awarding royalties for promoting their brand so elegantly 🤣
Ohh thank you so much for the kind words. I really like doing these type of videos but not going to lie, they take time to prepare! Hopefully it has helped guide you a little! Thanks again for watching and have a wonderful evening :)
Another outstanding house review. I love how you present and describe fragrances. You picked some really good ones! My husband loves the Wood Sage and Sea Salt (and I love to borrow it!) and for more “special” occasions, Oud and Bergamot (which is the heaviest fragrance he likes to wear). Velvet Rose and Oud makes me feel so confident and powerful. 🌹
I haven’t tried the whole intense line, hard to come by the samples. But my favourite is Orris & Sandalwood. Of the regular ones, I like both Oaks - Redcurrant and Hazelnut. Surprisingly those last a while. Great video as always. 🖤
Colognes? No wonder people complain about the performance. And they sell them at perfume category prices? This brand sounds like it should sell at Target stores for 19.99 In the past few years I've gotten into middle-eastern brands. They have beautiful bottles, luxury presentations, beast mode PERFUMES, not colognes... And I could buy 4 or 5 different ones for the price of one Jo Malone. When reviewers say "airy" it means you can barely smell the scent.
bought english pear and freesia because these are two of my favorite scents....alas...all I could smell was rose...which I dont like....luckily my daughter loved it. gift!
I disagree with labelling Oud & Bergamot as for a Man’s fragrance. You can literally use it even if you’re a woman, it’s for someone that likes strong fragrance.
came dented in 2 spots, single boxed. called jo malone and they said they would sent a replacement, that was five days ago. called them today and now they say they will expedite a new shipment and probably in 3 days i will get it. by the, at best, 8 days of my wife not enjoying her 25 day calender. $500 for most folks who buy this is nothing, just a warm up gift. this is the big gift for my wife, she's never got a gift this pricey in her life. thanks jo malone....funny how when i first bought it the calender came in two days? lack of service after the sale
Blackberry and Bay is my favourite ...and I always thought it was best for Autumn and also Winter ...even Christmassy :) I also love Mimosa and Cardamom esp on men ... I think I will like Wood Sage and Sea Salt and also Basil and Neroli going by your video ...Myrrh I like as an incense but Tonka beans I don't know if I am into it as much...

Thanks! I screenshot your comment so i can look at it while sniffing them in the store. You made me excited to discover these! (And you too ofcourse Josephine)
You sold me on most scents from them. You should be jo Malone brand ambassador
Ahaha thank you!
I'm probably the only dude who wears English Pear & Freesia and I'm okay with that. It puts my mind to rest so effortlessly.
That's awesome!
Obviously, you’re a feminine dude. Like the fuq it’s so obvious tho
I actually smelled it on a really good looking guy yesterday, and the scent didn't lessen the effect, quite the opposite😅
@@iamsofia3782 Glad to hear that Sofia 😊
That is OK, Shankar. I am a woman and sometimes love to wear a man perfume... like Amouage Dia Man ♥

I LOVE Mimosa and Cardamom and I so wish they made an intense version of it. I’m sure it would give me a lot of compliments if other people could smell it on me
Me too
Myrrh & tonka my favorite one. And luckly I live in country with eternal winter: Canada.
how it sounds?it is on smokiness side or woody-sultry? is it too sticky or more pleasant and smoothing ?
I’m wearing it today. In California 🤭
Wood sage and sea salt is my favourite. But if you like natural smell perfume all range of jo malone is good for me. The myrrh and tonka is amazing and lime basil and mandarin is super recognisable if you wear it often.

I love jo Malone! I had so many of them but I feel that I have a different experience with them than you Josephine :) For me
1. Peony & Blush Suede - is for me a summer cloudy day with a very ripe peony, I don't smell any apple though
2.Wood Sage is stormy weather over the sea, I don't fill any citrus whatsoever :)
3. lime basil & mandarin - smells like toilet rim block :) sorry :) I gave it to my mum..
4. velvet rose and oud - a girl from JM stand sprayed me with this sent before I went to my laser appointment and the girl who was giving me this treatment was constantly saying how pretty it is, couldn't get enough - it is a very Christmasy sent
5. English Pear - is the most beautiful every-day sent - reminds me of late summer and early fall
6.Myrrah and Tonka is my signature winter scent - it gives that disturbing vibe of darkness and church - I would add one sweet note to it - it would be perfection - ideal to mix with honeysuckle which is too sweet on its own
I would also add Pomegranate Noir which was created to impersonate a woman wearing a red dress
My thoughts exactly regarding the wood sage and sea salt...
I love your poetic description of Myrrh & Tonka "disturbing vibe of darkness and church". I agree, but couldn't have put it so eloquently. I adore this fragrance for winter.
Love this!! My Signature scent is mixed with Mimosa & Cardamon and English Pear & Freesia... Also my Wedding scent! :)

Heard Wood Sage and Sea Salt is Meghan Markle’s fave along with Wild Bluebell
Great video, as always, Josephine!! I remember the first time I smelled Myrrh & Tonka, I fell head over heels with its sweet and balsamic scent! One of my favourite cozy fragrances for autumn and winter 💜

Since finding your channel, I find blind buying so much easier. It's impossible to get to a tester counter during Covid.
I'm so pleased to hear it :)
I love wood sage and sea salt! I pair it with the Mimosa🥰
Mimosa and cardamom has been my signature scent since 2017...love it
Vanilla and Anise also part of the archive collection. It's my favourite.

Is there anywhere to find samples of the black bottle night ones?
Interesting audio is on the podcast How I Built This (NPR) where they talk about Jo Malone and her background. Fascinating!
Oh I love that podcast!
@@jusderoseme too- so inspiring.
maybe in the the U.S the travel size is affordable; Here in Toronto the price for the 30 ml is $110 -$115after taxes. However the wood sage and sea salt is my absolute favourite!
I love the Honeysuckle & Davana. This smells great after it settles
me too
I have it too!
❤️ it
It's my signature scent 🤣🤣🤣!
I think my skin loooooves it.
i have it too!🥰
English pear and freesia is the one I fell hard for. I bought the hair mist 😍😍😍
Wood sage and sea salt is my all time favorite!.
Hello there, great videos ! Could u pls suggest me a fragrance to layer with Myrrh &Tonka so as to get sth less sweet?? thanks!!
You’re so sweet with this video, thank you! 😊
Myrrh and Tonka is AMAZING!!!
I also have Fig and White Lotus. So underrated. I hardly ever hear anyone talking about it.
Thanks a lot for this video, I discovered your Chanel lately.
My favourite is Amber ginger lily.. it's amazing for winter, cousy and last relatively long.
But will definitely try out a couple of your recommendation.
:)
I like the way the fragrances smell (wood sage & sea salt is my fave!) but they never last long. Not worth the money imo
You should try use it with the lotion or perfume oil. It will last longer
Do you know of any other scents similar but more potent than peony and blush suede please? x
Did you mention Nectarine Blossom & Honey Cologne? That's my personal fave
Thank you for putting this altogether. Really appreciate it . Cheers!
Thank you for watching!
I only own one scent and it’s blue agave and cacao 😍my friend recommended it and sounds like she has excellent taste😉👌 what else would you say I could get as my second fragrance which will resemble the feel of blue agave and cacao and not clash with the vibe?
I really love the way u describe English pear and freesia 🍐💗It's my favourite one💗
@@thatchicnextdoor0970 I will definitely try it. Thank you!🌼🌼😔
Hi what can you recommend from Jo Malone pufume ❤ hi from Australia 🇦🇺
Every Friday I am wearing a Nectarine Blossom and Honey, then one occasion we had to take a group photo and all of us need to compress to be able to occupy the camera, then my boss went very close to me and surprised he said I smelled so good. Haha. :)
I bought JM mimosa and cardamom after I watched your videos. Thank you! I really love the scents.. ❤️❤️❤️
Their archive collection they've been doing every year and vanilla and anise is the best I always buy like 3 bottles
Yes that fragrance is wonderful!
you are very talented actually ..i think your description is very persuasive that i want them all 😍
I have Nectarine, Blackberry, Earl Grey and Basil Neroli. Basil & Neroli is my ultimate favorite. Scent is similar to Tom Ford Neroli Portofino.
Nectarine 💝💝💝
Orange Bitters?
I haven’t tried the whole intense line, hard to come by the samples. But my favourite is Orris & Sandalwood. Of the regular ones, I like both Oaks - Redcurrant and Hazelnut. Surprisingly those last a while. Great video as always. 🖤
Interesting, those fragrances are quite daring scents. I like it!
Hello! Do you think english pear and freesia could work as a signatura scent? Thanks!
Absolutely!
My two fave scent velvet rose & oud and myrrh & tonka. And yes myrrh and tonka last longer than other scent. Love it so much.
Hi Beautiful Josephine ! Have you ever tried Josephine perfume !?! (Josephine by Rance 1795 😉)
She describe the perfumes so well. ❤️
Colognes? No wonder people complain about the performance. And they sell them at perfume category prices? This brand sounds like it should sell at Target stores for 19.99
In the past few years I've gotten into middle-eastern brands.
$500 for most folks who buy this is nothing, just a warm up gift. this is the big gift for my wife, she's never got a gift this pricey in her life. thanks jo malone....funny how when i first bought it the calender came in two days? lack of service after the sale
i like the fig and lotus one :)
So good explanation👏👏👏
Please excuse my naïveté but your pronunciation of “oud” begs my enquiry, please tell me what it is.
Blackberry and Bay is my favourite ...and I always thought it was best for Autumn and also Winter ...even Christmassy :)
I also love Mimosa and Cardamom esp on men ...
I think I will like Wood Sage and Sea Salt and also Basil and Neroli going by your video ...Myrrh I like as an incense but Tonka beans I don't know if I am into it as much...
How long does peony and blush suede last ? Whole day? Does it linger on your clothes for days after?
Wood sage and sea salt , and wild bluebell are super nice for me
