Hello! I'm popping in here to send you a cheery little note. I very much love the content on your channel and I hope you are going to have a joyful week ahead! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and talent.
It’s always exciting to get notifications of you!! ❤❤❤ I’ve learned so much from you. I didn’t own a serger yet, but will soon 😜 Your voice is so relaxing and calming. Again, thank you!
I never even thought of using serger thread! Beautiful finish and I suspect that it's significantly less expensive than some of the other quilting threads. Thank you, Laura!
Thank you so very much Laura. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I just pulled out my overlocker (after 2 yrs of being daunted by it) threaded it up and loving it!! I need to find out how to do adjustments for each thread (spool) and which thread does what. Would you be able to provide a video to show us all, how each spool does what? Could you give us some tips, tricks and problem solving help? 😍👍🥰❤️🙋♀️🇦🇺 Loveya
Just follow your threading guide and place a different color of thread on each area. There are two needles and two loopers. When you use a different color thread in each you can easily identify where each thread is in the overlook stitch.
Never thought about the size of my serger thread. Will have to really look at it, tomorrow. I usually use a light & a med of two neutral threads on my serger BUT change that is sergering on dark or white fabric.
Hi does serger thread always come in that 50 weight? If it comes lighter, can the air pressure type serger machines have issues with lighter serger thread?
If a cotton quilt shrinks but polyester thread doesn't, would that affect anything? What about stretch serger thread? I bought some but I'm not sure when to use it. I might try it on undergarments.
A trick i was taught years ago is to serge the cut ends of my fabric cuts before washing and it was amazing how it changed the outcome. Less warping and shrinking.
Is serger thread generally okay to use for most sewing? This Mettler product sounds like great stuff, but I often use unbranded serger thread that I can buy cheaply locally for piecing, quilting and clothing repairs. But I'm no expert, I just wing it when sewing, so am I doing something unwise (stupid)?

I Just wanted to say THANK YOU! I'm New to quilting and was wondering what the differences was. I really appreciate this video!
That is interesting, a few weeks ago I gave it a try and I really like using it and I can get more on the bobbin. I also like it because less lint.

It easy to figure out. There's are left and right threads and upper and lower loopers.

@Nancy Cavedine Thank you 🙏😘

Thank you for that info.
I would LOVE lessons on sergers. I have one that’s been in the box 3 years. Just looking at it scares me
Can I use regular sewing thread (the small ones to the sewing machine, not overlock etc)?
Very interesting. Thanks
Excellent content but can we use Surelock Overlock Thread for embroidery?

If it comes lighter, can the air pressure type serger machines have issues with lighter serger thread?
Can u use it on your bottom
Is it ok to use polyester thread with cotton fabrics? Is it important to use poly thread and poly fabrics?

I've known several people who use serger thread for piecing because it comes on a large cone. I have never recommended that. Do you?
