I look forward to trying this method of quilting. You break it down where it seems achievable, thanks Laura…you are a wonderful teacher!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have the stencils and pouncer but the first time I tried, I was not pleased. Now I know how to use them correctly-your explanation was precise and thorough, as always. I have four baby quilts for Israel in the queue. Perfect timing. I appreciate you and all you do.
Quilting from the back is genius! Perfect timing too because I just ordered my first stencil and pounce pad. Thank you 😊
The pins as starting points and the marking from the back is an excellent idea! I will give my pounce another try and expect I will get better results. Thanks for the tutorial, you make it look so easy. 😍
About to quilt a large quilt and have bought a stencil to use. Your tutorial is very helpful and I now feel confident to begin. Thank you.
I've never heard of a pounce pad. I'm getting ready to do my first freehand and I'm so excited to save some time with the pounce :)
Wow! I have stencils hanging in my shop but just thinking about marking every line with a marking pen was enough to not try it.
I can't wait to try this now! Thank you for all of your great tips for quilting. 💕
thank you, I will be using all the hints. You are my favorite to watch.
Very informative
I believe I can quilt my own quilts now
I didn’t even think about quilting it from the back! Girl, you’re so smart!! 💖
This is great info, Laura! A clever way to mark my quilts! Thank you so much for sharing this with us!! I can't wait to try it!!
I really enjoy your videos. They make me smile and make my quilting better. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, thank you! I learned more from you today about using stencils properly and I'm excited to try it! This video was amazing
Thank you so very much for this wonderful video. I am not fond of long arm quilting, If I wanted a thin hard blanket I can buy on at wal-mart a whole lot cheaper than quilting. I am new to quilting but I do want a kinda thick warm quilt. Isn’t there anyone that still makes the kind we kept hanging in the living room till it was finished. I do watch your videos and love your methods. I haven’t a large one just baby and lap and panels, all of which I faked my way through. Thanks for sharing your talent and knowledge of quilting.
Thank you for the wonderful tips I’ve learned so much I watching you
Great advice. Thanks so much.
Wow! Great marking tutorial. This method that makes sense and will be easy.
Great directions and tips!!! You always make everything seem “sew” easy!! Thank you, Laura!!! 🥰

WOW I will be giving that ago, thanks for the great tutorials. Linda
Another great technique! Thanks again for all your great advice to help us get our quilts finished!
Excellent video. This is the first MARKING video I've seen. Very informative and useful. Thank you!!
As usual, great demonstration and information 🤩. Thank you for the video 😊👍💕
WOW you just open up my mind and changing it about quilting myself. Other then straight lines or diamond type patterns. THANK YOU.
Great job! Thanks for sharing.
you are the best teacher i have ever seen thank you
You are brilliant!!!
Very helpful. Thanks so much
Look forward to seeing you every day. I am interested in the backing that you use on your tablecloth as I have a tablecloth I want to complete but can't decide what kind of material to use for the backing. Thank You, Elaine
Great ideas, Laura! You make everything sew easy - Thanks!
Excellent. Was having trouble seeing chalk on front of quilt fabrics. This is perfect
I will be trying this, thank you Laura
I can't wait to try this method of quilting. Thank you so much.
Wow, so excellent and beautiful.
Wow! You make using a pounce and stencil so exciting! Any advice on what types of stencils to use? I would love to do more than straight line quilting on my quilts, and this looked beautiful. Thanks!
As a new quilter this was very informative for me. Thank you! Also, can you tell me about the little faces fabric in the quilt on the wall behind you? I love it so much
Clever! Thanks for sharing :)
Cleaver, I will have to give that a try
Awesome video! Thank you🩷
Where can I find the pattern for quilt you’re working on. Love it!
Hi Laura. Can you make a crossbody purse for a cellphone? I’m thinking probably with a couple of small compartments for a young teenage girl. A place for a feminine product and a credit card. Whatcha think? I’m thinking with a zipper top, not a flap. Thx!
Love all your helpful tips. I've learned so much that I can incorporate into my free-motion quilting. BTW, I love the quilt behind you. What's the pattern name so I can search for it on the web?
Awesome tfs
I used the pounce chalk to mark a whole throw sized quilt, but the chalk rubbed off before I could get it quilted even when using hairspray. Is there any other way to prevent this? I don’t have a long arm or mid arm, just a regular domestic machine.
SO that's what I have did wrong! I was pouncing & what a mess, Thank You!
I love this! I have all of my moms old stencils. How does the powder not rub off?
Thank you so much!
Do you have a tutorial on how to iron on the fusible batting?
Thank you Laura. What brand is the stencil please?
I have the pounce thing and the chalk for it but I hand quilt. Do you have any tips on using the pounce while hand quilting? I have only tried using it once because it all faded off while I was quilting and had to redo it all.
Thanks for the video.
I appreciate your “finish line” videos (and others, as well).
Do you have a pattern for this table topper?
Great ideas for marking a quilt to be stitched edge to edge. Do you use 100% cotton batting? I'd be concerned about melting a batt tat contains any polyester.
Hello ! What sewing machine were you using in the video to quilt from the back ? Please and thank you.
Ah. Thank you. I wasn’t aware of the registration mark
where can I get the stencils for quilting … I would love to try this … thank you.
How did u put the batting and the backing on the quilt?
Oh my goodness can it really be this easy. But I quilt using my sewing machine. I’m going to give this a whirl.
When I use a pounce pad the design disappears/rubs off very quickly. How can I stop this from happening?
I spray very light mist of hairspray across the chalk
@@kathykaplan2451 thank you Kathy but are you still able to remove the chalk by ironing?
@@lizfoster551 I watched the video with no sound because it was late, so I didn't know it was iron away...I have the one that brushes away and it works pretty good with the hair spray. Maybe you can make a sample and see if it irons away.
@@kathykaplan2451 thank you, I appreciate your replies to assist me😊
thx
This is fine if you use a regular sewing machine, not a longarm machine.
Ponce pattern traced, please.
