My fondest memory of SSX3 was racing Psymon down all 3 peaks whilst jamming out to songs like "Jerk it Out", "A is for Action", and "Hypersonic"!

I just felt like on tour had too much backcountry and not enough man made events. I didn't mind the over the top jump after jump and crazy rails that went everywhere and looped too.

I was 23 when this was released and we put many hours into it. Definitely one the most memorable games ever.
Another facet of this game: it straight up has not aged. The bright colors, the soundtrack, the overall style, and the insane amount of content are unbeaten to this day.

Playing Snow feels like trying to drive a Boeing 747 down a hill. It's awful
I cannot express how much I adore this game. I love how you could smash through out of bounds barriers in the middle of the race to go out exploring and doing tricks in the wilderness, the core gameplay is so fun and addictive it feels good to pull of tricks and your reward being boost allowing you to ramp off more things and do better tricks unlocked by Uber then to get Super Uber for the infinite boost and amazing moves.
The insane degree of character customisation is amazing and it's nice to see your character grow as you do when you play I love that the higher you go up the more dangerous and daring the environments and tracks become I love how once you reach peak 3 you can unlock a race from the top of the mountain to the bottom in a fun endurance race that shows literally how far you've come and all while being backed by an amazing sound track which the star of the list being Way Away by Yellowcard.
DJ Atomika being a constant companion throughout commenting on races the peak conditions and announcing songs makes the world feel more alive, I love being able to use the money you get to upgrade your character or buy cool cosmetics for them be it their looks or board, the cast always felt fun and vibrant to me and the customising adds to it where as a lot of games now have one or the other if either at all.
SSX3 for me works so well because it aims to do one thing really well and nails it, I have never felt bored playing or that I couldn't improve and I have after so long playing found new routes on the slopes. SSX3 and Tricky reminds me what a truly fun games is and that games can be complete and fun on release and not need battle passes or micro transactions to be fun and rewarding or is only good with friends because alone or with friends SSX games are a blast to play.
SSX3 and Tricky feels like the people who made it had as much fun as we did playing it, I hope and will be in full support of a remaster or a remake of the games and if it's even half as fun as they are and build on them adding more courses, peaks, cosmetics and brings back as much of the original soundtrack as possible (or at least Way Away).
Let's hope if they do choose to remake the game that there's no wingsuits XD

It was good, but not nearly as good as the older ones. I remember in SSX 3 you could ride down the entire mountain which would take upwards of 30 minutes and all the while you had a great soundtrack playing in the background. The new SSX had a shit soundtrack and frustratingly short tracks.

I'm pretty certain that they lost all of the resources used in the game. The main was lost, so they would have to make everything from scratch.
The studio that made the SSX Games, EA Big, now known as EA Vancouver, does the FIFA, NHL, and UFC games. SSX 1, Tricky and 3's game producer, Steve Rechtschaffner, who really pushed ideas and concepts of the game, has stepped down from his position since 2006. That's why SSX games after 3 fall in quality.

SSX On Tour is better than SSX3... except when it comes to characters, they lost a lot of personality. I also don't really enjoy the whole "rockstar" theme it has. I love sports so the SSX3 theme seems much more fitting.
Some of the best things of SSX On Tour are that you do not need to do non-competition events to become #1 or you can go the exact opposite way and only focus on non-competition events to also become #1 and the way the mountain works. Everything is opened from the very 1st minute and everything is connected. Everything can be trickable and raceable. I also like the sense of accomplishment when you actually recognize the names on the entry list when you start reaching the top levels. When you start the game you compete against nobodies and then you start becoming better and the real characters (Psymon, Nate, Zoe, Elise and co.) start to show up and then you know it's for real, it actually matters, you're going for something big.

I finally found it. I had memories of playing this game but could never figure out what snowboarding game it was. Gotta find a way to play it again.
Personally, one of the major reasons I love this game, besides all of the more cosmetic things, is that the control scheme is built around the types of tricks instead of doing button combos. The fact that air tricks revolve around a control scheme that suits grabs and flips just makes the gameplay so seamless and fun. As nice as it is to learn button combos, they can just be so frustrating sometimes and since a lot of the gameplay here is riding fast down the mountain it wouldn't have suited it well i think. It's one of the reasons I like ssx3 over the first(I think that one revolved around something more akin to button combinations. Also the levels aren't segmented by a menu screen, like you can just ride down the mountain and it's fun and calming. I highly recommend it. One of my favorite gaming memories is accidentally hitting a rail upside-down while flipping and afterwards spending the whole night trying to do it and land correctly to see if it was possible. Finally as morning approached I managed to do it, Peak 1: Metropolis, Segment 5 or 6 I believe. I was overjoyed.

Long, long story short. old school ssx plays had HIGH expectation for ssx 2012. it was and still is a huge let down.
- New Unlikable characters
- No Free roam
- Garbage maps
-Poor storline
-Stupid rewind system
-All characters do the same moves besides their specials
-Preset customization
-Lack of character interaction

Donovan Douglas only reason I like deadly deadly descents is because as long as you release trick held even 2 seconds it will be success and usage of psymon. They have free-ride but not the free ride that's fun even though it will loop back to the start. glide was okay.
still I would like the game more if they had all the made ssx 3 great even replay mode if possibly and yes prerace and post race would be nice from tricky. race with trick speed boost. needed slope style big air superpipe (along with the diamond emerald x2 5 10 thingies.) monster tricks. customizations, peak jams, atomika etc. and ported to pc.
SSX Tricky was amazing. Psymon was my favorite to use since he could push the board through his gut or spin it around his neck as some of his tricks
funny that this game was a gift from my cousins three years after it was released, and turned out to be a banger of a game. Wish newer games could create the nostalgia that games such as Tony Hawk, SSX Tricky/3, even MW2 to an extent could generate
