    Great video.
However, as a Christian who has experienced mental health issues and some of the various origins, I don’t agree with the statement that medication should be a ‘last resort’ for Christians or anyone else for that matter. I believe that suggestion may actually support the burdensome stigmas around us that don’t believe the need for mental health care and treatment is equally or MORE important than seeking care for any other medical problem from IBS to colitis to terminal cancer.
One of the biggest issues with even acknowledging any mental health issue is just that, PERSONAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT that there is a deficit and a need for care.
Society as a whole has cemented such a stigma to any form of mental illness without even understanding that sometimes the manifestations of physical illnesses are deeply rooted in the battlefield of the mind. Therefore recognition and acknowledgment of any malady in our Temple and the need for treatment is paramount.
Taking my symptoms to Jesus and following His prescription for abundant life is the FIRST order of care but considering medication should not be my last.
Thank you for sharing your story Dr. Conway!

I agree with you on that. Mental illness is just like a diabetic needing medication or insulin, cancer needing chemo, a deep cut needing stitches. Mental illness is something alot of church people act like is something that can be gone if you trust in God more. That is the worst mindset

I believe in God and Jesus. Since I was nine years old and lost my mother I’ve had a relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I just started taking medication for anxiety, ptsd, insomnia, and to quit alcohol. I’ve been through very challenging times as most of us have. I’m torn about the medication because my personality is being altered. I’m asking God if it’s the right thing to do. I had a dream last night that I was lost in a city and taking the bus. On the bus someone tried to steal my phone and snapped the back of my bra. It was the oddest thing. I also scratched my car while parking in the same spot I’ve always parked in and never scratched it. I feel high from the meds but I want to be better. I have minor ADHD, ptsd, insomnia, anxiety, and I want to stop drinking. When I interact in the world without meds I’m always uncomfortable. I hope I’m doing the right thing.

It sounds like you need to have your medications changed or adjusted. Medications changing your personality and making you feel high is not what the correct medications would do

Appreciate your personal testimony! I tackle this question on my channel as well- it’s good to have a balanced and biblical view of the issue. Would love to see your thoughts in the comments!

The thing that bugged me is that the final closing statement was referring to medication like Jesus is talked about in the Bible. Some very strong arguing points mentioned and well said also . Interesting topic to say the least !

The Lord did not give us a spirit of fear. Taking pills is Not what the diples did. They pushed on with the gospel

@@geraldrussell3389sounds like people need to remove all the unnecessary bad stuff in their lives, isnt it telling how he seemed to equate the brain and soul at the end of the video?
