You have all my respect my friend you saved me from stressing after i factory reset my desktop and with your help got my desktop to working and yes I have desktop gaming pc msi and works like charm so give a try it will work. Holy hell, you're a wizard!!! Thank you so much! I fixed my husbands laptop in like 25 minutes, when he wanted to take it to get fixed at a shop for 300 bucks to do the same thing! Now I look like an almighty laptop sorcerer. You're a miracle worker. My only recommendation is the link in the description for the correct files to put on the thumb drive didn't work with my model of MSI laptop. The only thing I did differently is download the ISO for Windows 10 from Microsoft's website and upload that instead, but all else worked great.
Holy Bill flipping Gates your right. Except only one thing the people who wanted the programs that actually came on their computer will not have their programs. And no, not all of it is bloatware either. The system tools and updates that come from different manufacturers. or any kind of hardware they may have added that windows does not automatically install the drivers. So just putting a plain Jane version of Windows 10 might not be the best answer. In fact this video is all about making sure the partitions are still on your hard drive and downloading the utility to restore the laptop to factory settings of when it was first bought now if the link is no longer working if you have been on a thing called the Internet, you know that happens from time to time that host may change the or they might not be available at all. It is ever changing my friend. And what about the people that ordered Linux or Unix ? Well downloading a Windows 10 iso help with that too. 🤨

Did you say that windows 11 has issues that can do damage to my msi laptop? I can’t go back to 10 now 😞 but if I do a recovery disc will it have the windows 11 version or Windows 10? I’m almost scared to use the usb now because I just made one following your tutorial.

Great video, you went straight to the point & how too. So all of the sudden, my FPS has been very low when I use the FiveM app. My FPS is so low, my MSI laptop will either shutdown / restart blue screen & 2 out of 10 time it does that my FPS IS AT 190 once I open the FiveM app. Otherwise my FPS is at 60FPS & once I am in FiveM my FPS is ranges btwn 1-12 FPS to the point I am lagging so bad. Plus I'll only have 3 -4 apps running in my background.. Please tell me this option will fix that particular issue otherwise I'll be forced to purchase a new cpu. Thank you

Yeah, it should give you an option to erase it to as though you bought it brand new and delete any personal things that you ever created on the laptop. And then you would be able to sell it or start from scratch.

I'm so glad that you made that video by the way i boot into factory reset with usb, I cannot reset it say 1. Please make sure the disk partition's layout is factory default setting 2. Please make sure current OS HDD is in the master HDD place i think my partition is erased or something happend i guess and support only say me to go to the shop where i bought it and it is far away and there are no msi services in my country, so if someone know how to fix that please tell me.

Im having so many problems i did a the steps the right way. But it keeps bringing up a stupid automatic repair screen . It didnt even do countdown for the reset it went right back to the automatic repair screen . Honestly i thought it would work but maybe its sumn else i only used it twice was 738 dollars and i wanna use it.

As long as the partition hasn’t been completely deleted.
Any chance you know the keyboard shortcut for resetting the NVRAM?
It is a different in different laptops and different models of MSI laptop but I can try to help you if you look at my channel banner just click on the link to my Instagram and send me a message of what model number of computer you have and I may be able to help you.
After i clicked on 'Restore MSI factory settings' my screen seems to be stuck and showing 'RecoveryDVD Manager' on a black screen and didn't open the Msi recovery system 😢

hey man i fdisked my msi gf63 thin and the factory settings are gone so i tried your method so when i boot from my usb(32gb) and i press recover it loads then says
'1. Please make sure the disk partition's layout is factory deafault setting
2. Please make sure current OS HDD is the master HDD place'
If you deleted the original partitions, then the software will not work. You have to have the original partitions just like when you first bought it, and then the software will restored to factory. If the original partitions have been modified, corrupted or deleted, then this will not work.

@@1tsYousef you can actually download Windows 11 for Microsoft and do a basic install of windows 11. But if you want to restore the computer exactly like when you first bought it, you can order recovery DVDs or a recovery USB drive from MSI that will totally partition your computer and everything.

I’m confused about what folders not to add to drive. Do they have a name? My computer has been in recover system waiting for 24 hours.
You just want to copy everything inside of the first folder to the root of the thumb drive. You do not need to copy the subfolder. If everything is done, right, it should take you 30 minutes at the most and that is from start to finish.

Always have patience, but it shouldn’t take. I would say between 30 minutes in an hour, but every computer differs slightly. 👍✌️

@justintinter8718 that seems like an abnormal amount of time. If I was you, I would do a scan on your hard drive and see if it’s having any problems or did you buy a new one to install?
i only have 1 storage (partition C: & D:).

It is different on each machine so it could erase it. If I were you, I would just back any files up that you need saved and then if you want to restore it to factory, then I would restore it after I saved the files.
I am confused about what to do after I finish factory reset. Do I need to manually update everything by mysepf: video card, processor, audio, etc., or Windows Update downloads it without me doing this. Isn't that I need to download every driver manually for MSI laptop ?
When you restore your computer it restores it exactly from the date from when you bought it so it does install everything like the video card and the drivers but let’s say for instance if you bought it in 2019 it will have 2019 software and since then the manufactures from, let’s say your video card and windows, security updates, and so forth, and so on have come out with updates, so yes, after you restore your computer, you will want to run Windows updates and also check to see if you have the latest version to your video card, your sound card, and other devices in your computer up-to-date with the latest drivers and software so that way the software can be updated to 2023. I hope that makes sense for you. If not, just let me know and I’ll try to help you further.

Hi there. I'm doing everything right; however, my laptop (MSI Raider GE68HX 13VG [i9-13950 2.20 GHz 32.0 GB]) freezes at RecoveryDVD Manager window (9:39 mark). I am then forced to force-shut off the laptop. Any idea/suggestion?
Unfortunately, without looking at it in person and doing my own diagnostics, I would not know 100% but I will tell you that if any of the partitions on your hard drive is corrupted than it could cause this problem. Also, if the laptop is overheating or if your hard drive is failing. Those are just some things that are simple that can cause it’s a fail to restore properly.
Thank God I persevered and got it back to work all the way back to Windows 11 Pro.

Yes, it should restore it to windows 10. When it upgraded to windows 11, that is one of the reasons that the recovery will not work anymore. So this process should work for you and restore it to windows 10. Also, once you do this process, you should create a system back up that way if you decide to upgrade to windows 11 again, you don’t have to go through this whole process to restore it. You can make any some drive or DVD media bootable, and a good tool to do that with would be located at rufus.com and don’t worry the tool that they give you his free to use with no limitations.

If you recover your operating system, like I show in the video, you of course can retrieve your product key. If you’re asking if you can retrieve your product key from a partition without an operating system being installed, and the answer is no.” wanting to watch no I’m the one who got him into that oh daddy here and I’m saying Bobby you doing OK. Another thing you might want to think though is you may have windows already activated digitally on a Microsoft account such as outlook.

It should wipe it from the whole drive rep partitioning the drive as when it was factory bought from the store. if you want to save anything, you should hook your hard drive to an external dock on another computer and your files. Or you can hook them into another computer and upload what you want to save to the cloud.

What if when I press f3 a bunch it gives me an error saying the operating system could not be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors…
Without looking at it in person, I couldn’t give you a 100% answer. But if I had to guess I would say that your factory partitions have become corrupted or erased and that is why you are getting this error.

The only thing I can think of right off of fruit not working is that the partitions on your original hard drive could have been erased if they have not been erased then this method will definitely work. It is straight from the factory.
