I love "pomp and ceremony" like this. 🥰It must take so much practice and coordination. I have seen it last time but I think I need to again. But everyone should see at least once! Thank you for another great video Koala! And Merry Christmas! 🎄
Hi Koala, So nice to see a video from you again. The band and the changing of the guard in Singapore was fascinating to see. It's very similar in America. Sorry to hear that you weren't selected for the military band. I was trying to look closely to see if I could find a female in the band and only saw maybe 1. It must be very competitive. Glad to see that you were able to meet with and interview some of the participants. 184 countries is amazing. Safe travels and best wishes. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too. 🎉
@@TheKrazyKoala It was difficult to tell if the one I saw was a female. It does seem like the military band needs more females. I wonder if that is one of the military occupations that excludes females. In America, _virtually_ all of the military occupations are open to females.
Hi Koala, Thank you so much for this wonderful introduction changing guard ceremony. And yes also would like to wish you have a wonderful Merry Christmas.
Used to support the CoG during my NSF days.. I would be on the Istana grounds lugging the signal set for CSM to coordinate the movement.. And that’s where we met Mrs LKY, strolling the grounds.. (yes, it’s many years ago..) Pride. Discipline. Honour. 😊
Sending you love, joy, and peace during this holiday season. May the new year bring you happiness, health, and prosperity. Merry Christmas and a happy new year!🎉🎉🎉
I heard the command "berhenti!" Never focus on the marching band close up. The rifle dance is quite good. But the white helmet and belt .. hmmm... Thanks for sharing
SG is a young country. We do not have a steep military tradition unlike Europe or USA. Our initial batch of MPs were trained in Taiwan on silent rifle drill.
The SPDS rifle is so much easier to handle now. No sling so a lot easier to grip. The basic SPDS course is a least one month, so can't possibly be practicing for a few weeks, you have to some performance experience already. A few weeks is just to run through the new presentation routine.
7:13, I went there last May and it's awesome and stunning at night. Really your last video in 2023? I wish your gonna upload, what do you do on Christmas and New year on the video.
Ah...MPs enforcer of the military...all units hated the MPs...especially when they go around units to conduct spot checks. Still remember during my NS days these MPs turn out our unit in the middle of the night while we are sleeping to conduct surprise spot checks for contrabands. Even during my ICTs got spot checks by them twice...😂
@TheKrazyKoala nah...is not night sentry. Is their routine spot checks on all the units. They go around units to disturb the normal day to day operations of an unit by conducting sport checks for contrabands. 😆

I think u had the answer before u even typed it. I can smell your sarcastic tone. Welcome. Don’t forget packing 2 yrs of curriculum into all our trainings, much higher intensity, much longer hours, you don’t think we can do what everyone else does? Maybe a bigger lesson for you is to learn how to respect others.
@@TheKrazyKoala From the feedback of my Singaporean male friends who went through National service.....I'd have to (respectfully) disagree that your 3-4 weeks training would equate to those 2.5 years. However, I do acknowledge it is still extremely intensive/gruelling nonetheless. And you have done very well as a female to go through all that! Cheers!

Went to the ceremony 3 times but never got a chance to have a photo with the Squad hope to have the chance someday. Great video nonetheless.

Yes you’re right. In US military, it’s many months of training for their ceremony.
Those guys are my fellow nsf's 🔥🔥🔥🔥
That’s so cool! Are u in my video too
👍👏💪🇸🇬

Is there any metal plate installed under the boots of the guards? Sounds different.
I assume no. Otherwise it’s too heavy to perform it
Could be, just to be heard in ceremony
@@TheKrazyKoala Agree, they would not do that for practical reasons.
Lovely viewing🌹💘🍁
