In the room there’s not a lot in it. Meinl is slightly mellower sounding. Same goes for when I’ve gigged them. Cheers for commenting, please consider subscribing!
@@stefanaleksic4113 The PstX isn’t the Masters range, it’s a B8 alloy in most of them plus the difference in price is huge. They do sound awesome though! Cheers
I've had PSTX crashes for years and never cracked one. I use the 16" cajon crash and just switched out the PSTX 16"thin crash for the PSTX 18" thin crash in black colorsound like I commented ealier. After viewing I checked all my PSTX for cracks. Not one. The colorsound coating dries it a little and tapers some of the high end. Me likey. Maybe people are cracking them if they play those crash/ride quarter note patterns for long periods of time. Keep posting, cheers from So Cal!
I’m glad yours don’t have cracks but then again mine have done hundreds if not thousands of gigs. My 18” medium Swiss crash cracked on the cut out, as did the 14” flanger crash and the 8” trash splash. Still playable but there’s a slight rattle on the decay. I don’t do the crash ride thing either, they’re used for accents. Weirdly another drum channel just posted a vid on how the same thing happened to his Zildjian EFX! Thanks for watching and kerp enjoying those Paistes 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I think with an extra $200 you can buy enough drinks throughout the upcoming years to think anything looks cool. I enjoyed the ZHT effect crash over its A custom counter part. At the time money was not an option. I "A B" compared the two and ended up buying the ZHT. Hell in THEM CROOKED VULTURES Dave Grohl used a ZHT ride (if it sounds good enough to play with John Paul Jones, well case closed). After that Taylor Hawkins was using a ZHT ride in FOO FIGHTERS. Drummers must not pay attention to the PST7 line due to the price. Both up close and out in the crowd the PST7 sound incredible.
This is probably similar to how Wuhan makes the most legit and best sounding China cymbals....and they also happen to be the cheapest. I am not a fan of those holed up cymbals...they don't volume balance well with traditional cymbals, imo. They can make really cool sounding stack cymbals though, but you don't want cleanliness out of those so why pay the premium?
That Meinl sounds SO MUCH better to me. Idk if it's worth an extra $200, but the difference in sound is quite large to me.

That is the range of masters with holes

PST7s are awesome!
I bought most of the line with exception of the chinese cymbals. Currently I do not play big enough events to require that pop.🥳 @@honourisdrumming
They both sound pretty much identical to me. And for that, PSTx all the way!
Nice, thanks for commenting!
for larger size like 16’ I prefer meinl’s but for smaller size I keen on pstx Cuz $150 for a 8’ cymbal is not an economical for me
Between these two, i think i like the Paiste.
I can't believe that pst x sounds so good compared to meinl byzance. I have pst x 16" thin and 18" medium.
Thanks-that’s why I thought it’d make an interesting video! Nice choice of cymbals btw! Please consider giving us a sub🙏Cheers
Like that meinl for it's more trad ride sound - but that's not what I want a quick decay crash for
(PSTX sounds dryer and better for my applications)
Absolutely. And don’t forget the MASSIVE price difference!
