  • When your garage workshop needs to be a garage and a workshop!
I designed this space-saving table saw station as an option for people who use their garages as weekend workshops.
The version I built for myself was designed to store my saw for longer periods. I decided to design and build a version for people who need to use their saws more often.

I haven't seen a single idea on this channel that I don't like. They're all just so freakin' useful.

Jean, the original version of this build, along with dozens of your other builds, just confirms to all of us that you're playing 4D chess when the rest of us are still playing checkers!

I think it’s so well thought out and is ideal for any small world space. Speedy recovery to mate I hope you’re doing okay.

Glad you revised this build. It seemed like a prototype and this revision is a large improvement. This is the kind of thing more RUclipsrs could be showings iterative design and prototypes are consuming production time and never seen. The weekly schedule of videos has faded thankfully. I think looser for most but the grind still exists. They could easily be making videos between showing their process and mistakes. People say they want that but it’s very situational project-to-project. I’m all for more builds that are box based.

It looks like a perfect solution for people that get weekly/monthly use of their table saw. If you intend to use it "intensely" but just 1 day and then not for the next 10 days or something, packing it up and taking a minute to set it up again is a great compromise. I tend to use mine like this, to square up 2x4s to make frames for canvas about every 2 months. I literally never use it for weeks then have to set it up for 2h of work or something then pack it up until 2-3 months later lol. I'll be buying those plans I think !

Far more elegant solution than mine, using the Makita wheeled trolley that I use, and probably a fraction of the cost. Might be time for an upgrade! Thanks for sharing your ingenuity.

Nice idea, just buy the Metabo saw instead though, it has a built in set of wheels and legs which extend into handles to move it around. Love the ideas, keep it up.

Hello,as always a very interesting video. My trailer is in my garage and maybe that's the case in many other garages too.how about you design a solution for a trailer. With a table saw and a cross-cut saw, etc., you can unload quickly and without lifting in order to use the trailer. So you could use the “workbench” inside or outside when the weather is good.
    Sorry for my Bad englisch
    Best regards
    Mino

Well, 1st it‘s a beauty build but 2nd: PLS clamp the things down if you drill metal. Cause if the drill get stuck the workpiece will do not do so funny things to your hand.
Anyway: Keep the good word up 👍

Yeah this version is more practical, but the downside now is the missing out-feed surface :)

  • @mk8monty448

Question, if you raised the height of the side panels could you have space for fold down in/out feed, that are level with the table saw top?

Honestly, this is designed well; I just don't know if it's worth all the time/money/effort to save basically a couple square feet. I think if I was going to go to the trouble of building and using one, I'd just make your original design since it at least has the added functionality of a small work table when closed and outfeed support when opened. But, maybe that's just me. I still love your designs.

Probably depends on your specific space needs. I replaced a perfectly good miter saw with a much more expensive new saw just because the 12” of decreased depth to the design of the new saw made the rest of the workshop work spatially.
