He's the most organized man...in the world! John has single-handedly "freed up" more space than technically exists in the known universe and therefore altered the very nature of reality as we know it. All kidding aside, I just love your content sir, and I'm glad you did not give up.
I really like this project. So much easier than taking all the time setting up sawhorses and boards, bringing cords and all the small things you might need when you want to move a built out of the garage to the driveway and into a beautiful spring day!
There really aren’t enough superlatives in the English language to describe just how awesome I think this design is. I’m blown away and I’m sure I shed a little tear of joy near the end with the levelling idea! I for one am so glad you’re still with us Jean and designing these projects. Huge man hug sir. Huge.
Im a 62 year old toppie who has just started his woodwork journey. Now I cannot begin to tell you how much enthusiasm, dedication, ability and plain old professional knowledge I gain from your channel. Dankie china, I really just sit back in awe watching your brilliant creations.
I haven't watched any videos in a while. But every time I do I come back to your videos! Not only do you have awesome and well thought thru designs and functionality, it's even very therapeutic watching your stuff! Your proces is so easy to follow. Safe to say your recording and editing skills are as great as your woodworking skills!
Im gonna use this shop cart plan except im going to incorporate a flip top on it. Im gonna put my chop saw on one side and my thickness planer on the other side. The wings will be perfect for the chop saw side. Thank you
If I could like this video a hundred times, I would. Truly the most talented woodworker putting out content. Every detail is thought of in each new project and the foresight to maximize functionality is truly unparalleled.
As usual, well thought out and tons of functionality. Well done. I'd probably alter it so I didn't have to unfold the wings to open the doors, for when I just want to grab something out of the toolbox while keeping the unit in its compact state. But that's just a matter of preference. Can't wait to see the workbench build! Already guessing it will have lots of useful tricks to it.
You are a genius. I have a small garage shop and often work on the patio when I need more space, and I waste an enormous amount of time running back and forth for tools. This is perfect! Thank you so much for your videos, I learn something every time I watch you.
@ silverfox, you are NOT stupid. Just get started with the simplest project idea you might have, and as you do small projects, you will get better and better at it. As the saying goes, "practice makes perfect." Start with the simplest of tools and buy as you need only. Don't splurge out unnecessarily. Also, we are gifted with many youtubers out there as well as Jean, who shows us how to do things. We are all learning.......so as I've said......you are definitely not stupid. Hope you get started and good luck. Take care.
Anyone who’s never tried a thing will feel stupid at seeing someone who’s good at it. Honestly give it a go. Start small, build up your experience and that will build your confidence. You can do an awful lot with a jigsaw, drill, set of chisels and a few other very basic tools. Be patient, practice joints and basic builds like boxes etc with scrap wood or pallets and remember, what some will call mistakes, others will call lessons. Learn from them and you will ALWAYS improve. Good luck to you. I wish you well. Ps. Come back in a year and tell me if I was right.😉
That would be perfect for people doing small jobs that live in an apartment building or other small living space that doesn't necessarily have any kind of outside work area
Hey Jean. Greetings from Jozi. Lekker build, man, lots of storage and functionality. I'm always amazed by your ideas and how you expedite your builds. Keep the ideas and videos flowing. Cheers bru
This is a great project! Really love the idea! The only thing I can think to improve(not by much) would be that perhaps the extending tops would be better off sitting on top of the unit when not being used so that the doors could still be opened without having to extend the top up first, but other than that it’s great!!
Great project today . A storage tip for storing metal tool boxes/cabinet on concrete: metal on concrete can cause the bottom of the metal box to rust over time so either stick a rubber/carpet matt or timber block under the metal box to prevent it rusting out.or even add wheels to the bottom of the mettal box.
This is a really cool build and one which I am going to build over the winter for my spring projects Lord willing, the creek don’t rise, and h_ll doesn’t freeze over. I especially like the wheel extensions, perfect for what I have in mind.
Youve sorted a problem i had with a build i made a while back in my workshop, an idea that i haven't thought about, so thank you, one project coming to an end very soon
This might be the best little mobile storage unit I've seen. I will highly likely be reaching out for plans for my own soon. I will be making a slightly modified version of course, as most would, but the overall concept and design is mint!
I am definitely going to build this one. Simple, efficient, elegant and practical. But I am going to mount a larger fixed tool on top. This will extend to four similar units, each with a fixed tool on top, but movable to anywhere in the shop for best use.
That is amazing! I have a storage problem I have been trying to solve for over a year in my tiny home....this is gonna be the solution! I have some mods in mind for my specifics...but this is an amazing start.
I really love your ideas of utilizing small workspace. And every time I think "now he absolutely reached the maximum" you come up like "hold my beer" an take space saving to a whole new level. Just one small (really small!) downside: you always have to fold up the extensions when you want to open the doors.
This has got to be one of the - if not THE coolest mobile work benches I've seen to date. I think it's fabulous and I need it. Thank you for this and for making plans available for it too. Brilliant job.
I had a similar idea for a portable area, but I wanted it to house my vacuum and dust cyclone/bucket. I want to make it tall enough to be used as a outfeed table and also incorporate a few dog holes so that I can use it as a workbench. I think taking your idea and making it wider to accommodate the vacuum with the bucket to the side would work.
Great design. My only suggestion would be to install the gas struts with the piston facing down. This keeps the seal from drying out and losing the gas charge. I found out this the hard way.
you can put some kind of storage on the parts on the sides where the wheels are where the bracing is also you could use that design for like a kid's room just make it bigger for some kind of storage it looks like something you could use
Great project. One suggestions, add a little CA glue to the T nuts. Unless the threads are pulling through the wood, they do not hold very well, can work loose.
This is a nice build and I like the cart, the only thing that I'd want would be locking wheels or a lifting mechanism that I can lift the wheels and let the base sit on the ground then I step on a board and the wheels come down and allow me to roll it.
I love your work..❤ I still waiting for the last part of your drill press stand series. The drill press table. I like your way of maximizing the design for the ultimate version.📈
Another great video Jean. Innovative as always. But now you have me on tender hooks awaiting your multifunction work bench mark 2. I can't wait for that series to begin. No pressure though.
Nice project! Indeed a lot of storage. But that last latch is really unnecessary. :) Your gas struts will keep the extension wings closed, in the same way they keep 'm up
great project 🙂 just an idea - I got a toolbox same as your Geodore - with a few well placed magnets - metal rules /small screw drivers can be added - the lid is deep so these are clear of the top shelf ;-)
Nice job. I think if i were to make this, i'd put on bigger wheels or at least raise the base, so that i could get my feet underneath and get a little closer to the work surface.
I was just searching “mobile shop trolleys” this morning and here you are 🎉 I am struggling to keep my workbench free of project “stuff”, so I thought I would build a dedicated dumping ground so to speak (rather than pretend I will put everything away each time)…but this is way to nice for this purpose 😅 so, how do you work when your workbench is 900x600mm and you need space to put down components, tools, squares, glue, etc? Help! 🤪
Another excellent project, although I would have preferred to find a way of avoiding putting those latches on the front of the doors - they spoil the clean lines of the project. Also, inside the doors might be a good space to have some first aid items, to treat cuts and bruises.

absolutely superb , functional, practical , telling us not only how to complete tasks but you give the logic behind your thoughts... thankyou.

@@niwty Thank you.
You can teach several of the engineers I have worked over the years more than a few things. Another amazing project.
this project really shows what a genius you are in designing and developping space saving workshop utilities, Awesome!!!!!
The door support for top extensions is slick
Room for a few clamp holders on the side of the cabinet, below the door folder out, or more bungy storage on top of the caster bracket.
That would be perfect for people doing small jobs that live in an apartment building or other small living space that doesn't necessarily have any kind of outside work area

I need a new cart for my miter saw. This build is perfect with a few modifications to the side arms. Cheers
Youve sorted a problem i had with a build i made a while back in my workshop, an idea that i haven't thought about, so thank you, one project coming to an end very soon
Amazing build. You think of every detail and it the pieces you build are very unique.
That’s a great project and can see so many different uses.

Number One 👍👍👍

Smart project, thanks for sharing, Jean! In my shop & surroundings, I'd need to use larger, air filled tires on lockable casters.
That would be an awesome router table with plenty of access space for router installation or bit changes
Very nice! This is changing my cabinet design to use with my large tool chest.
All makes sense, engineered correctly as usual, nice little unit, might try the build myself..cheers
Yet another great, well thought out project mate 👌

Hi man. I love the project. I would add one thing. Handel's. You will need a place to hold on to when you need to lift it off the ground.
Nicely done man! I am challenged by making the best use I have in my garage and your projects are inspiring! Thank you for all your hard work.
This has got to be one of the - if not THE coolest mobile work benches I've seen to date. I think it's fabulous and I need it. Thank you for this and for making plans available for it too. Brilliant job.

I love the build it's realy inspiring. I live in a small house and my tools don't have a place this makes me want to build my own customised storage
Great design. My only suggestion would be to install the gas struts with the piston facing down. This keeps the seal from drying out and losing the gas charge. I found out this the hard way.
Looks great only issue I see is the small caster wheels that will have issues rolling over a cord! Bigger wheels roll better!
also a nice outfeed table too!
Each video is a new surprised, thanks Jean!
Yet another well thought out design. Simply brilliant use of space with great functionality! I enjoy your channel. Cheers!
Really well thought through. Your mind must be on the go all the time. You should really patent this one - I'd buy it!
Love how all of your projects are well thought out. Keep the videos coming.

Great project. One suggestions, add a little CA glue to the T nuts. Unless the threads are pulling through the wood, they do not hold very well, can work loose.

Great little bench.

Great design and build. The cart would have been nicer to look at if you mounted the clasps on the inside of the door if it was at all possible.
Nice build.
Thanks!!
