The tune is called: Pools (by Don Grolnick). The version known to most is by Steps Ahead (with Peter Erskine on drums). Great live rendition of it here: ruclips.net/video/dLE_IBg9abk/видео.html
Jim Stathis elvin is on a totally different planet. they are both killing but elvin still has that space and air that is pretty much impossible to imitate
you could study Erskine forever and never get to the core...amazing drummer and very underrated outside the drumming community.
peter is one of my personal favorite drummer. He's so calm and in control while grooving.
Peter Erskine... one of my heroes!
Always a great comfortable feel......
American One Productions Rehearsal and Drum Studios in NJ gives two huge thumbs up 👍🏻🥁👍🏻
One n only Peter Erskine❤️🙌
Who is the dude playing the insane passage on the keys at 3:48 ?
Even Peter is smiling and shaking his head -and he played in Weather Report!

@@DeezjaVu Hey thanks! Checking it out now!
Who the heck disliked this video? Wow.
Peter Erskine is kind of like Mel Lewis with more technique
Both very musical
Imo Peter has a lot more Elvin in him. Jeff Hamilton is Mel Lewis’s godchild with more technique. Both unbelievably musical drummers.
🤔
