Beware of that new (oldstock) carb, after 30+ years, all the gaskets on the inside very well might be dried out, so you still might have to rebuild that carb as well.
Elliott I'm going to tell you something as someone who is a lot like you. You need to stop waiting till you have every part replaced to ride this thing. Get it running, get it safe and get it on the road. Everything left to be done can be done in between riding it. Go enjoy it man. One of my favorite mottos is "Don't get it right, just get it running."
I hope he rides it. I'm worried after spending so long making it shiny he'll never sit on it for fear of scuffs. Give it a spray to stop the rust and send it down the road! It'll almost certainly end up on its side at some point haha
Probably the best purchase out of the whole lot would be the carb. Personally I would have opened up the new old stock carb and replaced all the O rings and gaskets. Because despite being new, they're probably no good from age. Especially the gasket behind the petcock.
Elliot is such a nice and chill dude, I'd watch him do his taxes, for real. I came for the Gameboys and now I watch him repair a bike and assemble some watches. I have zero interest in bikes and watches, but I will watch it because it is a video from Elliot.
I can't imagine why someone would have issue with replacement of a carburetor that is that gummed up. Can it be cleaned? Yes, will it work as efficiently as a new one absolutely not. This is the right call
This gives me PTSD flashbacks of trying to kickstart my 79 gl100. I got my valves unstuck but now I need to check compression to see if I need to tear it down and do piston rings😅
Motorcycle builds, watch mods, retro consoles...is there a more perfect channel?! Have you consider restoring some of the parts? Like that bracket or rear axle, with a few tools you could make them look new and it would be entertaining content. E.g. Delboy's Garage (among many others) videos are very helpful to learn how to get old parts shine again.
@@vhfgamerIf that is his motivation. Id say the bullies won. He is wasting thousands of dollars and hours of his time looking for rare parts when he could repair them and get more fulfilment out of the process.
Nobody here knows that before he was REPLACING every part, he actual did Ultrasonic clean the bolts and such... Also I dont think everyone knows what happened to this bike and why it needs to be replaced not just fixed up. Its an art piece & project not just some restomod.
Excellent video as always Elliot, that little C90 has come a long way since the start! Looking forward to seeing the final product. On a side note, that Peugot bicycle in the background, do you have the name or model name for it, I swear it looks exactly like the one my dad had back when I was a kid and I always thought it looked really cool but have never been able to find it.
You know you can just remove the rust from the bolts right? There isn’t a need to replace them. Steel wool or sand paper is a lot better than buying something to replace a part that is still fine. You do you but a lot of your parts could just be restored and you’d be riding a lot sooner
I'm prob going to buy a brand new Royal Alloy GP, Japanese engine, Italian Lambretta styling, fuel injection and disc brakes both ends... I does like the idea of that esp in the burnt racing orange... sexeh :)

At least he can sell on his perfectly acceptable parts for someone with lower standards I guess
he was stuck in his past… some kind of petty madness.

Doubt even Honda themselves have one with completely genuine parts. My bikes never had only original parts. Otherwise i would never be done with them.

Nah man your absolutely fine, you'll finish it. Just put your mind to it and you'll be able to finish it. 😉
Is this going to live in a big perspex box when you've finished? After spending so much on pristine parts I'd be frightened to get on it haha
Or a quick thought Elliot you could use the rear axle bolt that’s too long for the rear for the front axle?
Having grown up in Australia, seeing the CT110 everywhere as the "Postie bike", it will never not be weird to me seeing this in any colour but red.
Elliot, try not to say or mention "new old stock" every 20 seconds challenge (impossible edition).
Looking great Elliot!
Don't be so negative. You will finish it and you will love it!
Your bike looks absolutely amazing! 🤩

I probably would have just purchased a brand new super cub at this point. Job well done!
Smashing it mate the builds coming along so well can’t wait to see when it’s all done and you’re doing rides

The honda videos are my monthly shot of indomitable human spirit
Woooo, time for my favourite drinking game when you drink every time he says "new old stock"
You know you can have parts repaired and repainted. You don't have to replace everything.
I think he's doing it at this point to flip the bird at the guys who stole it a while ago.
@@vhfgamer Why would they care?
@@cedarstuff The greatest revenge against bullies is ~success~
Because bullies want you to fail. They want to bring you down to their level.
He dont care about repair.

Man, you really know how to enjoy the little things. The most important rule of Zombieland.
I think the parts you replaced because of fire damage or sea water damage, you should keep and make a display above the bike to show it's history.
Piece by piece it gets better.
You’ve got this man, don’t let it stop you 🎉
Hope you can find that rear axle. The bike looks amazing!

The real bike was the friends we made along the way..?

Slow and steady always win
maybe the axle you got for the rear of the bike is for the front instead?
You know, you could get the rust off those nuts and bolts with a rock tumbler.
Just powder coat the exhaust hanger in the right color?
Was wondering at first what a Karboretta was....

You are going to have enough parts to build a second bike soon enough.
oh i thought something happened to your bike again for a second
If you ar a big fan 👍 the vid😊
Youve got this!! This channel is super cool showing off your other hobbies!
Car-buretta? It’s that what it’s called in the uk?
I'm prob going to buy a brand new Royal Alloy GP, Japanese engine, Italian Lambretta styling, fuel injection and disc brakes both ends... I does like the idea of that esp in the burnt racing orange... sexeh :)
