      @@ShockwaveEditz01 BotCon Apelinq, the Transmetal Primal repaint in red, green, and silver. Yeah it was a straight repaint and not a retooled look like this but I really fuck with the color scheme and I think it’s a banger as far as repaint characters go. I dislike ROTB’s decision to make all the Maximals predominantly one color each to begin with, but I think Apelinq especially suffered because all silver is the most boring option for a live action movie design imo

      the big thing is that it's very hard to get model kits to have a good working transformation. for example, Bandai who is arguably the furthest ahead in model kit tech has only recently made a fully transforming kit that doesn't make you want to pull your hair out.

    • @Kaiju-bm4ts
      @Kaiju-bm4ts 4 месяца назад

      Transforming isn't the selling point of these model kits, they're meant to capture one of the two modes as accurately as possible. You can't get that if the robot mode is inevitably compromised by the gimmick of transforming the figure itself.

    • @zacharyowenmartin8247
      @zacharyowenmartin8247 4 месяца назад

      @@Kaiju-bm4ts That's really obvious, I build a ton of gunpla so no need to talk down about what this is meant to do. All I am saying is if a transformers doesn't transform I am not going to be interested no matter how "premium" it looks or feels. Especially for a figure like this that still is barely worth the price of admission IMO for 60$ all the other kits did the same for cheaper.

    • @Kaiju-bm4ts
      @Kaiju-bm4ts 4 месяца назад

      @@zacharyowenmartin8247 And if you build model kits then what was the point of you stating the obvious that this was a non transforming figure?. Transforming is a gimmick, not a necessity for a piece of merchandise to have. You wouldn't have this level of detail or accuracy if this was a normal transforming figure given the less simplistic design itself and 60 bucks really isn't much...I've seen kits that are priced up higher than this.
      60 if anything is the same price as some transforming figures themselves and is pretty cheap. Not as cheap as a 30 dollar kit sure, but still cheap.

      @Kaiju-bm4ts 4 месяца назад +1

      My guy please don't say hard pass when hasbro gives out actual transforming figures of characters who had less screentime (if not zero) than apelinq here. **Looks at berserker who had 9 seconds in tf5 and was one of the most common deluxe figures in 2017*
      TF toys transforming isn't a necessity. You get more accuracy from non transforming figures than ones that rely on transformation as the main selling point.

    • @Nayders
      @Nayders 4 месяца назад

      @@Kaiju-bm4ts don't get me wrong. It's a good figure lol.
      It's just that I person don't care for model kits or other figures that aren't transforming. To me, that's the fun bit of transformers figures, the engineering that goes to make a good looking that can still transform without sacrifices.

    • @Kaiju-bm4ts
      @Kaiju-bm4ts 4 месяца назад

      @@Nayders And while transforming is always fun, sacrifices are inevitably made to make one mode look more accurate than the other. Especially if the design is a live action design that isn't entirely figure friendly. This is why g1 and more simplistic designs are easier to get right when it comes to transforming figures, anything that's not g1 is a automatic hit or miss.
      This is where model kits come into play, it doesn't matter if the design is simplistic or not cause model kits don't have to sacrifice the accuracy of the robot mode to make the gimmick of transformation a thing. Both sides are good but there is a reason non transforming figures are popular and are looked at as more accurate.
