They are gonna release it in 2025, you can find info on it on youtube (by looking for terraria update 1.4.5) or state of the game, and its taking a long time because they are a small team. Terraria is an indie game, long wait for updates is expected. But you can still crossplay using other methods like zerotier
It seems to work if you host a vanilla version world on pc or mobile and have the ip and port of the other one, only lan, and join via ip on pc or look for it on mobile and try join
