There was a vocal coach who reacted to Dance of Eternity by Dream Theater without knowing it was an instrumental song. The reaction is amazing!

Tim has often said that as a instrumental band, he acknowledges that there needs to be a melody - I think he does a phenomenal job in how he composes.
The human voice has not evolved to the point where it can match this music.
I love Polyphia for all their jazzy shreddy instrumentals but they do sometimes feature a vocalist - different most every time, but might be worth checking out some of their ft. whomever tracks.
We need some Scott love in this comment section. He is amazing, and has a such a great and different sound

What I love about this band is that everyone is so talent at their instruments; also, the fact that they write their songs using modern softwares, which sounds like the music is very technical (and it is), but the twist is that they use what they write digitally to find a way to be "playable" (including performing) - which, imo, puts a soul in their songs that could easily sounds artificial. Great reaction.

huh... I'm a subscriber because of SO many other reasons.. but when i saw this on my recommended/subs I was like..."this has to be a glitch" on the thumbnail.. but two of my different musical tastes collided with this video.

Wow this just reminds me of what my band would play at jam sessions for our own enjoyment, we wouldnt have to even say a word to eachother just different techniques and cues would lead us from one style to another in the song seamlessly fusing them into harmony. We have an ebb and flow that was similiar to Polyphia makes me happy to feel ahead of my time back in 2006.

Man these drum machines keep getting more and more realistic.
The Spain song, that you reacted to, was a non-verbal song until AL Jareau placed lyrics to it. He also inserted lyrics on another jazz great called Take Five, which is written in 5/4 time signature . You should do a masterclass on rhythmic timing. Many of operas have kept me awake in the brass section because of time signature changes. I didn't like it, but as they say, the show must go on.

If Playing God is your first exposure to Polyphia, I think you get overwhelmed. It's like you can't process it with just the neurons in your brain. You have to search for more neurons and you find those neurons in your body so you have to move. You can see it in a lot of these first reaction videos of this song in particular.
