I absolutely love what you guys are doing! Hovak, all I can say is, Good daddy, taking the time to teach Ellen. I'm 67 years old and I recently bought a Bass, so I am really enjoying watching you guys.
I Have Listened to this Lesson Many Time and Enjoy it and don't get bored as I cannot Play Any Instrument and now coming up to 76 but i have been listening to music for 60 + years and have a natural feeling for music from other members of my family Father Clarinet/ Cello, Eldest Brother Violin, and Nephew had a Recording Studio and introduced me to many Artists in the early 2000s Chris Tredwell Birmingham UK
Sounds great. Your daughter is amazing. I could spend hours listening to her play. She is so adorable as well. Sorry as I do not mean to sound inappropriate but she is intoxicating in her talent and how she has so much fun with music. You sir are a great teacher.
Hey dad! If you think you're in charge of these videos, think again. Ellen makes me laugh with her antics when she knows you're not looking, bless her. 😉😂👍 She reminds me of the movie The Magnificent Seven (1960). Whenever the camera was focused on Yul Brenner for a scene with Steve McQueen was behind him, Steve McQueen would subtly do something in the background to draw our attention to him. Don't be mad at her. Ellen's antics make the videos more enjoyable.
Nice lesson and not to long so it's perfect for a child. Ellen you always pay attention to what your father teach you and it's very impressive for your age and now it's time for CAKE 🍰 LOL. Cheers from Montréal.
I don't understand where she messed up, cause everything sounded so good!! Really, just amazing how skillful Ellen is getting... More complex stuff all the time! And her awesome feel for that funky rhythm and groove! -Yeeeah!
I just realized you playing left handed. Your playing skills are increasing very well. You are a bass player prodigy. Your father is teaching you important knowledge in music Theory concept. Keep up the great work. That off beat broken rhythm is the beginning pattern to reggae music.
I'm always impressed with her attention span & skills it takes to play so well, so fast!! Seems like just a month ago she wanted to play the "Guitar" as she called it! Impressive impressive impressive!!! She's amazing!! Keep it up Ellen, see you at the top of the charts!! "Bass Solo, take one"! (Metallica) Can you play that one? Please 🙏💞
Ellen, despite your young age, you are very intelligent, applied, constant. Continúe like this and you will succeed in everything you set your mind to. I'm from Argentina. Muy English is not good.
Totally awesome dad. I think, I hope, that one day Ellen will be in a band with Yoyoka and Pettyrock, and with them, or really (as is more likely) anyone else, she's probably going to be the most musically educated person there, plus have a better understanding of the production side.
Hi my white daughter. I really appreciate your guitar ability. I'm so glad you're playing timing. And daughter, I love your smile. I have always been a fan of yours. Your father gives you a good education in music. I am very happy. I will always love you my daughter. God bless you and your family. Thank you so much my daughter. Sorry if I made a mistake while writing. 💖💖💖💖💖👍👍👍✔ I am from Sri Lanka.
Hey dad how did she become such a naturel and feel so comfortable Ellen girl you got nothing to be shy about girl I don't think you really know how good you really are be confident in your work girl and say to yourself I got this and you will because you do! you nail it every time girl ROCK ON!
Nice ELLEN Firstly want to say Thanks For this vedio Its amazing and it helps lot of more. I REQUESTED To You So Please, Do some More Videos for us like ARPG, Ranking, Slapping chord's Etc Etc. Means ELLEN'S Practice. It Hepls Those Peoples like Me Which can't efforts Music Class. And non another you tuber Teach like This. its much easier For Us and I learn more more and more. Thanks From HEART.💜
I’m 72 and I want you to be my teacher, please do more lessons for beginner bass. I play guitar but have lots of pain in my thumbs and need tips for thumb pain.
Excellent. Impressive. 1 suggestion: Try variations where you do NOT play the tonic (1st scale degree) on beat one. Request: other time signatures than 4/4. Please show some 6/8, shuffle rhythms, and work up to 5/4. You can do it all in time Ellen! Go girl!
I'm glad you clarified the iphone selfie because I thought I was going to have a heart attack if you started playing this good left handed😂. anyway, with my headphones on, it sounds like maybe her bass might be just a tad louder than the drums, and without my headphones it honestly sounded pretty much equal. That or my hearing is starting to fail me or you can leave it as is and ill just keep my headphones on😄.
I am not in any way an expert in music or guitar. I am extremely sure you and Ellen have more experience there than I. I have noticed in this video that Ellen is not looking at the fretboard as she has in previous videos. That, in my limited experience ,tells me that she is more comfortable with the muscle memory of the notes on the fretboard as well as playing by ear. She is way better at playing than I could ever hope to be. I play six string guitar. Not professionally but just for my own entertainment. I did take lessons but I learned much more on my own.
Bay
True talent, of course, learns for itself, and he knows what he needs, and true talent is not only biologically outstanding, but also spiritually. Music education is also essential to keep and consciously cultivate, or at least help, children who are born with high abilities through music. In a technical sense on the one hand and in an intellectual sense on the other. You should let the child play the way you want to speak. This is how nature works, and we are part of nature, whether we like it or not. I'm not saying what we see here is wrong. Only these skills should be developed. Improvisation! And the forces within it must speak directly. Not by being forced into all sorts of styles and trends beforehand. The biggest flaw in today’s music pedagogy, I think, is that it canonizes things that simply don’t comfort a person. And they do not encourage students to understand their (life) age in the deepest way and to play music worthy of it.
i am not a bass player but im VERY good , i play whit 3 finger sometime 4,,, to make triple and quadruple note ,,, she know PRIMUS ??? you should show PRIMUS album frizzle fry , to ELllen i think she will like 😍😍
Our granddaughter is closing in on 3 years old. What can I do to try to get her interested in playing guitar if I can't play one myself? Would love to learn how your daughter found her passion!
She's so young, I would buy ukulele first (a real instrument ukulele, none of those toy ukuleles). They're quite cheap and it would give you an idea if she's interested in music at all. Then maybe at around 5 or so she could be actually ready for a junior sized acoustic or electric guitar.
Is Ellen ambidextrous or is the video swapped left-right? (But the guitar on the wall looks normal, or is it a left-handed guitar?). I assume it's a left-right swap because I've seen Ellen with that bass before and it wasn't a left-handed bass...
Ellen & Dad, great job! I was listening to Sade (pronounced "shaw-day") and thought that you might really like her groove. Not sure if you know her music. Its sultry R&B... like mellow funk. Amazing! Ellen is so good that many people actually thought she could instantly start playing left handed rather than that the image was inverted😂
You two are the best. Love and respect!

Oh okay I did not realize makes it look like you are playing left handed my bad
Wow!

is that a short scale bass?
Wait a minute, you can play left handed? My headphones just broke in half a couple days ago.
It's the iPhone selfie camera mirrored 😁
Love watching you two.

8 is the octave?
Yes 8 is the octave
Ellen & Dad, great job!
I was listening to Sade (pronounced "shaw-day") and thought that you might really like her groove.
Not sure if you know her music. Its sultry R&B... like mellow funk.
If you listen, try the songs "No Ordinary Love" and "Cherish The Day" (bass comes in on the second verse). 👍🏻
I love Sade and her band. “Cherish the Day” “Soldier of Love” and dance choreography on that video.
Why is she playing left handed ? I’ve never seen her do that before 🤷♂️
She explained that its the selfie Fromm the I phone showing it back words she is not playing left handed I thought so too at first
O a selfie
Shall I call you Janice japlin?
Still bass is too much distorition not to bad
👍🎄🎅🏻👏🐞🎃🎸👍
The screen is backwards!
yeah, iPhone selfie camera
@@HovakMusicI don't recall anyone saying Iphone selfie cameras were awful? Why would they do that? Does it reverse landscape as well?
Maybe first 2 off notes then 2 on beat...off pff on on?
You did, you said 1 4 7 😂
Bas is a little bit louder
🇩🇰👍
I thought she played with the other hand?
Time for cake
Bass loud
