We have never force-fed our baby, but he still refuses to eat even when he is hungry. We consulted many doctors, but I don't think doctors have any training regarding that. They simply ask us to feed the baby.
As parents we need to understand more

My daughter is 20 months old and just 9 kgs. She doesn't want to eat at all. She just eats 1 -2 bite or 1 or 2 spoon. I Force feed because it is not enough. I never try to feed the whole bowl. But atleast the amount thats required for survival. I've been to so many doctors, she has no health issues. We are giving all the vitamins and iron daily as prescribed by the doctor. She is very active and playing the whole day but just wants breastmilk when ever hungry. She doesn't even drink cow milk so that i can even think of mixing something to it. I tried giving her different kinds of food textures, making it colorful by adding various vegetables. Tried colourful plate method. I never buy packaged food. I cook everything at home. I've even never given her cerelac when she was weaning. I made that to at home. No distractions like tv or mobile, if i give her to eat on her own she will play, throw everything and go. She will only eat a bite or so. She will just eat 1 banana or any fruit, half chapati or just an egg white in whole day that too after force feeding her and nothing else. I just want her to eat 3 meals atleast if not more. But she doesn't. Im really frustrated.

One size doesn’t fits all. This is great video I have tried baby led weening from 6 months but still my kid doesn’t like food. I am writing down below what worked for me somedays, please comment your experience and it can help us all:
1. Offer food first thing in morning before breastmilk
2. Offer cold food - like cold khichdi/ yogurt
3. Feed outside in food court/ park

Hi, Do not worry, for few days do not offer anything new , allow them to eat anything which is healthy , check for any infection or indigestion. They will start eating again after few days ,you can offer cumin water to improve her appetite.

Same with my baby he will only accept milk. When i am trying to give him solid he will take 2-3 spoons and then post that he will start spilling it off playfully and after 5 mins close his mouth all together.. even if we let him pick and eat he will spill off once he puts in his mouth

My 15 month old refuses to eat solids. She still drinks only milk. She refused Cerelac as well so we add a spoon full in her milk. She literally acts like we're feeding her some medicine. She doesn't even swallow one morcel when fed. We've respected her rejection of solids this long.

Hi. My son will be 13 months in 1 week and he refuses solids too! He only wants milk so I add baby cereal to thicken his milk, which fills him up. Avoid juice and Maggie completely as juice has High sugar and Maggie had additives, give fresh fruits and nuts or cheese instead of junk you can give rice noodles instead of Maggie

Hi mam, my baby is 6month old it's just been a week I started her on solids, the first few days she liked the puree had it all by herself but now she refuses ,so I tried offering her rice in plate and she started exploring and taking it to the mouth but I am worried that the amount she consumes is not sufficient for that particular time otherwise i am exclusively breastfeeding

Hi, Some children take time to accept solids. And teething also takes time , do not worry. What you are doing is right. do not force. When the child is ready you can offer.You can try vegetable / fruit puree.

Let the baby eat on his/her own... My 11 months old baby was refusing food, so I let her eat on her own. She eats better. Also once she is full, I don't force her , so that she has positive association with food
