I think a better choice than the Kaweco ballpoint-which has a frankly pretty poor refill-is the rollerball, which you can replace with any Parker-style G2 refill, such as a Fisher space pen refill, which writes better and has a far longer life. The rollerball is capped, so won’t deploy in your pocket.
I feel like that CRKT knife is more of a conversation piece with your buddies than a practical knife. It's beyond cool 👌. I like that both kits are of good quality without sacrificing style on the cheaper end.
@@MattcruzedcAgreed. I carry one on my keys and one in my wallet. Hell, my at home EDC is a Victorinox Waiter. When I have nothing else on me I know I can count on it to do what I need.
I definitely am with you on the Swiss Army Knife. I've spent most of my adult life with either a Swiss Army Knife or a Leatherman in pocket or on my hip. For the Swiss Army, I tend to favor the Explorer (or the Explorer Plus, which I don't think they make anymore) and, for the Leatherman, I long carried a Wave, but have lately been carrying a Signal. Though, the Swiss Army knives I mentioned are definitely the easier options on the budget.
I've settled on the Leatherman Skeletool KB myself. I don't use a knife all that frequently. But it's handy to have something that's so small you don't notice it when it's clipped in your pocket, but still has a useful 6.6cm blade.
If you want to pronounce the brand correctly you should call it (LEU) - Pick the "loy" from alloy (CHT) - English doesn't have a pronounciation about this but it's very close to "Ssttt" (TURM) - The word "Tour" with an "M" added to it. Make sure you speak the words seperately Loysst--Tourm.. And you got it 99% perfect! Thanks for your video's - I like them a LOT lately!
Absolutely love your videos, Maurice! The amount of detail and editing that goes into each one is incredible! I think you should definitely continue to make these kinds of videos! I know it must take a tonne of work and time, but we all enjoy them. Please consider a "tactile" theme for your next video! EDC items which have a fidget factor built in (bolt-action pens, flipper knives, fidget toys, etc.) or simply have a tactile look and feel to them would be great! Another theme you could try would be a vintage one (natural tan leathers, wood grains, brass/copper, fountain pens, etc.). Keep it up!!!
The karambit style blade is strictly for self defence use. I don't have a clue why you choose it for edc. Any other plain edge flipper would have being a perfect example.
The Casio Duro is also an excellent choice for budget dive watch The Rovyvon torch range, while not black is incredible value for money. Especially the A8X ! Your choices and presentation are next level, thank you 👍😆
I got a groove wallet in gunmetal with the black leather sleeve on their Kickstart. I love it! Worst case put extra cards in the elastic band, thays what I do with gift cards and such 🤷♂️
if you really want to go all-black in an automatic watch and don't mind microbrands, then the Safari Vogelkop Superb by Boldr might fit the bill. current version has a Seiko movement alongside all the standard features of a good edc automatic. and at ~400$ it's also on the more budget-side when it comes to watches. only major drawback is the crystal, with the anti-reflective coating on the sapphire being prone to scratches (can be polished out, but it'll be equivalent a normal reflective sapphire crystal then)
Good point! I also think the Hamilton watch is not fitting the bill of ''every-day carry'' or ''blackout'', many would hesitate to do sporty things with it and it also would look odd in more formal and/or low-profile instances. Hamilton is a brand with robust watches, but the Valjoux chrono is not going to be robust in comparison with watches in its price-class (obviously G shock is leagues above in robustness so I won't compare), instead getting a Longines Hydroconquest or Oris 65 in black dial and getting a black Nato strap would be much better in terms of the theme as well as saving you money.
For the knife i would have gone with a benchmade OTF on the more expensive budget side. You never knew how much you love an OTF until you carry one daily, the one hand deploy with little hassle is amazing.
I have 3 microtech otf’s I swap between, but tbf I won them in raffles. So technically I got them for about $90, when new all woulda been over $1k iirc.
loystrum is such a cute way to avoid the problems they foresaw you having with the "ch" sound in Leuchtturm. I would have said "loykt-toorm" is a more acurate transkription (in far northern germany, you might even find people pronouncing it like that). Or "loisht - toorm". The u would be pronounced as in duck, not the bird but in duck and cover.
i carry a Karambit every day and although i love the Provoke it is just not very practical for its price. The Fox 479 Karambit has been my go to for a couple years now on daily carry. of course when it comes to EDC Knives there is always a preference buts its really hard to beat the 479 on bang for your bucks only being about 150$ on average i snagged mine for a bit less off ebay, but nowadays i carry a Honey Badger flipper for daily use and the 479 is clipped in my pocket solely for self defense. i love seeing Karambits on peoples EDC but honestly the Provoke is overpriced and overhyped in the category there are quite a few that stand out above it. The Emerson Super Karambit only being 50$ more offers way more practical use in everyday situations and self defense then the Provoke its just a novelty knife really. These are just my opinions on the knives if anyone is interested in discussing more about Karambits id love to in the comments espically if you are thinking of buying one for EDC.
I also have a provoke and had been following it since the kickstarter but i have to agree it more of a novelty for my edc purposes i will automatically nix any knife that either opens in my pocket or that i can cut myself one while the knife is closed the second one being the provokes downfall you can easily get a finger in and cut the shit out of yourself or your clothing if it had even a half inch of extra material to be used as a sheild it would be much better ive tryed talking with the designer about this issue and everything and all i got from him was "well ive never had this problem" so it wont be fixed and isn't even on his radar other than that the pocket clip is atrocious it dosent set deep enough in the pocket and also seems to get stuck on your clothing i wanted to like this knife so bad and i had such high hopes for it but for any out there still reading this is a very impractical carry and if your going for a novelty knife just get the paragon warlock similar price point way more fun to fidget with but equally impractical
That Hamilton is a great piece, but is much more dress watch than tactical or EDC. If you're going Hamilton, stick with the khaki field automatic chrono in all black with day/date. Fantastic watch.
Definitely do giveaways for the kit that you don't use (like the wallet)! Keep this EDC series coming. I ordered 2 items from your woodlands video last night, and I'm already enjoying one of them today.
I would pick a G2 pilot over sharpie. I have the sharpies pens at work. If you write to fast or an entire paragraph the pen will start to dry out even when the pen is full of ink.
If you think those are cool you should try the Sharpie s gel metal barrel and the kaweco sport pocket fountain ben. Both will blow your mind and a fountain pen will always be the center of attention when you start using it.

May have gone with a trayvex wallet for the expensive wallet. They're more versatile and for most of them you adjust the wallet it's stupid to the number of cards you need to carry

BTW - kits lack power, but they have writing instruments that seem horribly outdated. I carry something to write, both on paper and plastics, but a notebook?! Why?
