Thank you! Finally an exercise for my pain. I've searched so long for the proper exercise.
What I've been told to do are heel drops, etc., which hurt so bad. Have had issue in both feet for so long. Here in BC, waiting for diagnostic imaging is beyond in crisis.
    Thank you.

I had an mri that showed chronic insertional tendinopathy with retrocalcaneal bursitis, with a large posterior calcaneal enthesophyte at the achilles’ tendon. Your exercise is the only exercise I have found in many months that does not aggravate my heal pain. Look forward to doing it overtime and see if I can reduce the pain’ strengthen the tendon and when healthy enough return to tennis. Thanks

Yes, Podiatrist & Ortho surgeon gave me the wrong exercises - made it worse! Ortho recommended surgery, but that didn't seem right to me... I google AT misdiagnosed and I found this video Your video was what I needed, the difference in types was never explained to me. After doing this exercise for a week, I still have some pain - but it is not nearly as bad - minimal! I feel in time I will be able to play tennis again soon! THANK YOU!!!!!

So, it seems like I was doing the very same mistake that you are describing here, Mr. Everyone (on YT) tells you to do the calv stretch/elevated heel raises with negatives (or however they name it). So I was doing it - at it got worse. Thank you so much for this little but very informative video :-)

    Hey! Thank you.
Had this for months after restarting jump rope training.
I was doing the 1st stretch and it never got better. Looking forward to trying this new method.
Also thanks for your great explanation

Couldn't it also be the case with insertional achilles tendinitis that tight calves are actually exacerbating the problem by pulling on the achilles tendon creating more contact with the calcaneus? Therefore, calf stretches would help?

Wow, viewed this video just in time. I have discomfort on both heels though, what could have possibly caused it?

is there any limit in other calf stretches for insertional tendonitis? like calf board is okay to use?
