    Kitsune's are the best, that's all i'm saying.
    Also I loved the okami images while talking about Yamata no orochi, what a great game to introduce japanese mythology.
    Also the Bakeneko, Komainu and Okuri-inu are top ten worthy, as least for me.

    Pretty awesome and interesting video but actually the Kuchisake Onna is more of an urban legend and if you tell her twice that she's pretty she'll give you a "smile" like hers, if you tell her that she isn't she'll kill you, the only way ti save yourself from he is to tell her you're busy and have to leave, if you do she'll appologize and let you go.

      +Ibaraki Ben (茨城ベン) Thanks again for the suggestion! Japanese mythology is much different than other mythologies, it was a fun one to research! I was just curious as to why you live in Japan? Are you going to school there? Are you planning on staying there? Is it really "high-tech" where you live? I heard Japan's consumer technology is about 10-15 years ahead of America.

    • @GaijinDad
      @GaijinDad 8 лет назад +5

      +Top10Archive my wife is Japanese and my family died in 2007, so nothing was keeping me in the UK. So I moved here.
      I work as a PR manager at a Japanese language school. I also take Japanese language classes too.
      Yeah the technology here is much more advanced than USA or Europe. People are also much more docile, friendly and well-mannered. Things are so efficient, salary is higher and cost of living is generally lower. I don't think I can ever go back to the UK. lol

    • @Top10Archive
      @Top10Archive  8 лет назад +4

      +Ibaraki Ben (茨城ベン) Sorry to hear about your loss.. good to hear you found where you belong though! Have you thought about doing more Japanese "tech" type videos? I really like your Japanese candy reaction videos.. that Salmon candy looked gross! haha. Although, I think tech videos are more popular, I think you could really do well with those. I noticed in some videos I've watched online, arcade games are way more advanced in Japan as well. Maybe do a few videos on those?

    • @GaijinDad
      @GaijinDad 8 лет назад +1

      +Top10Archive that's a good idea. To be honest I've not thought about covering those. They seem to be the norm for me. So I forget about the difference. I'm covering an interesting event next week and perhaps I'll try to cover things the Uk doesn't have.

    • @GaijinDad
      @GaijinDad 8 лет назад

      +Top10Archive also in not really confident in covering those things. I know about them. But compared to you guys. My quality would be much lower and not totally sure how to present it.

    To escape the Futauchi Onno, there are supposedly two ways. The first is to reply, "Average", "So-so", or "Normal". In other tellings, you quickly ask her the same question. "Am I pretty?" Either way will confuse her, letting you flee.

    I thought the legend of the Kuchisake Onna consisted of her targeting young children, asking them if they thought she was pretty. If they said no, she would kill them, if they said yes, she would then remove her surgical mask and show her face. She would then ask again if they still thought she was pretty. If they screamed or said no she would kill them, but if they said yes she would scar their face too. The only way to avoid being hurt by her is from the get-go you kindly excuse yourself by saying your mother is calling for you. Apparently the ghost is courteous and will excuse herself too and leave. At least, this is how I was taught the legend..

      Kureiji2264 Japan is overhyped just like Paris, New York etc. It's nice when you first get there and visit, then after two weeks you feel like you've seen it all. I was in Japan for 6 weeks and after the first two weeks, it felt boring even when I was going to tourist attractions.

    • @GaijinDad
      @GaijinDad 8 лет назад +7

      +Donquixote Doflamingo that's your first problem. Tourist places are overhyped. Living here you see and experience the non-tourist places which are much more interesting.
      But without the language ability it's impossible. I live here and will never go back to western countries.

    My family was stationed in Japan. The fairy tales are quite diffrent from american ones. They pretty much all have an old person as a character. One of them was about an old couple who wanted a child but couldn't because of their age. One day they saw a huge peach in the river and inside was a baby. Also, my friend told me about the creature that eats the belly buttons of boys who misbehave

    I also heard a mythology about a girl who accidently fell in the train rail and was too slow to get out of it so she's basically split in half. Being restless she became a spirit
    sometimes she'll appear at local school after school around leisure time in bathrooms or looking outside of a classroom window. Girls that go to the bathroom will hear crying in stalls and when the door opens out came nothing but half of a human body crawling out. She'll look at her victim and ask "where is my Legs?" if the victim answer is wrong she'll charge at them and split them in half.
    there was another case where it's home time and a boy was about to walk out of the school gate. something made him look back before exiting, when something caught his eyes, a beautiful girl standing by the window looking into the distance and slowly she caught his eyes. The guy felt embarrassed as he smile and about to walk off.
    He suddenly felt a thrill up his spine so he turned around. There he saw the girl charging out of the window towards him. With just her upper body and arms stretching straight at him.
    The next day the boy was found dead

    The tengu shown at 8:59 were the Jews who went to Japan by way of the silk road. As can be seen in the Katakana letters, which are Hebrew letters and the old traditional Japanese songs that Japanese sing, which are old Hebrew songs with Hebrew words. Even the festivals which Japanese celebrate today are from the Jews, this is why they are celebrated on the same days and have the same words. Even the word, Torah or "Tora" is seen as a holy scroll in ancient Japanese writing. I discovered this because my Japanese wife studied ancient Japanese history and put all the pieces together when she saw the Hebrews and Japanese Katakana letters matched. Good video, Thanks!

    Just so you know, Kitsune is pronounced "Key Tsu Nay" and also, the Kappa becomes immobile if the water from it's is spilled. If you fill it back up, they will server you till they die. And, btw, a Kappa's favorite food is cucumbers. =3

    Hold on. The slit mouth woman will cut your mouth if you say yes and cut you in half if you say no. There are three ways of escaping her though.
    1. Offer her Fruit and Candy.
    2. Say to her "You're average."
    3. Ask her "What about me? Am I pretty?" (This should confuse her, allowing you to escape.)
    I do like your list though. 😨☺🌈❤🐼.

    A lot of Chinese Mythological Creatures iin the video, Japanese are copied from ancient Chinese's books.
    Chinese dragon are a main totem of the Han nationality, only for HanChinese.( * True Chinese are Han people. )
    Japanese and Korean are stole "Chinese dragon" totem. In Asia 's Most Powerful totem (Han ethnicity symbols )
    * korean history are full of lies. (Stole Chinese history and culture, fake ancinet drama, copied Chinese drama and online novel...).
    Koreans cannot stop lying. They think they can distort history if they keep lying or fabricate fake information on Wikipedia.
    Chinese dragons are legendary creatures in Chinese mythology and Chinese folklore. The dragons have many animal-like forms such as turtles, fish, and imaginary creatures, but they are most commonly depicted as snake-like with four legs. Chinese dragons traditionally symbolize potent and auspicious powers, particularly control over water, rainfall, typhoons, and floods. The dragon is also a symbol of power, strength, and good luck for people who are worthy of it. With this, the Emperor of China usually used the dragon as a symbol of his imperial power and strength.
    In Chinese daily language, excellent and outstanding people are compared to a dragon, while incapable people with no achievements are compared with other, disesteemed creatures, such as a worm. A number of Chinese proverbs and idioms feature references to a dragon, such as simplified Chinese: 望子成龙; traditional Chinese: 望子成龍; pinyin: wàng zǐ chéng lóng; literally: "Hoping one's son will become a dragon".
    Sometimes Chinese people use the term "Descendants of the Dragon" (simplified Chinese: 龙的传人; traditional Chinese: 龍的傳人) as a sign of ethnic identity, as part of a trend started in the 1970s when different Asian nationalities were looking for animal symbols for representations. The wolf was used among the Mongols, the monkey among Tibetans.

    How about portuguese mythological/folcloric creatures? You have several like moura encantada (enchanted moura), olharapo (similar to a ciclop), alicórnio (similar to a ciclop but also has a horn like unicorns), olhapim (also called anaio, that has to eyes in the front of his skull and two in the back), corrilário (tortured souls that take the shape of a dog), peeira (also called fairie of the wolves, are girls who can talk and control packs of wolves), trasgo (a soul of a not-baptized child, know for playing tricks), maruxinhos (similar to leprechauns) and jan (a fairie. If you leave a piece of linen and a cake in the wood oven, you will find a cloth made of linen in the next day. If you just leave the linen and forget the cake, the linen will appear entirely burnt). It would make and interesting video, since not many people (apart from portuguese) knows about them :)
