My son passed from this earth to Heaven on April 20,2007. On his 17th birthday . He was born with a congenital heart defect a heart so sick that surgery was not an option . He never spoke of pain or illness of any kind within his self . Never complained but I know he was in pain everyday he didnt have to say I knew it was devastating to watch my beautiful son fight for his life so hard for 17 years . To watch your child die and myself I administered CPR for more than 45 minutes I just dont understand why God did not give him my breath I begged God to give it to him I miss him so much I would give anything to touch my son again. . To this day in my heart beats the soul of my little boy . There is no greater pain in this life than to watch your child die and you cant do anything , nothing but go to the most gut wrenching pain you could ever imagine multiplied by millions every single day . It does not get any easier . God has my little boy and I still need him . This song is a beautiful tribute to all of our Angel's in Heaven. Till I see you again I'll miss you Daniel wait for me
My brother Daniel and my father Daniel senior left us suddenly and both flew to the other side 2 years ago. The pains is too much, too real, and watch my mom miss them everyday is almost unbearable...I'd hug you if I could cause I really understand you. Songs like this, so beautiful and touching, keep us in touch with their souls, praying one day we'll all be together again

I can see some comments below; I speak both English and French and I have to say, I don't find the French version any deeper or more emotional than the English one because the words are so resounding and terribly sad here too and it has got the same dose of poetry and pain and so we can really feel how devastated she and her sister's family was after the loss. I like both.

Probably the most painful experience she's had in her life and she's trying her hardest to keep it together, stay poised, calm, and collected. I can't imagine the strength it requires to manage that. Céline was only 9 ish years old when Karine was born, and they spent a lot of their childhood growing up together and shared an unbelievable bond. I love my twin sister and niece more than anything in life, and I could never in a million years sing a devastatingly emotional song on live television. The french language opens up the throat and the mouth differently so that the voice is much better. If you guys would like to ear it: vole vole ( vole means fly)…Im so happy its my maternal language and culture…its about soul and strength and depth.. Céline is representing that perfectly. Are you kidding me? Im from Belgium and i hate french! Its a horrible sounding language! All the songs in french sound so harsh and with forced vibrato and ZERO vocal pwoer, range or soul! I never cried until I saw this performance though.. it's the whole setting with the family.. very intimate & emotional. I saw this show and this song touched me so much, that years later I used it for my mother's memorial service (she was a tiny, little thing with such a love for life), and there wasn't a dry eye in the place. I also used her "Goodbye is the Saddest Word" which is another tear jerking, gorgeous song.
Lost my younger 18 year old brother 20 years ago this coming August (2022) to Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Have always loved this song. Seeing her singing it in dedication to and memory of her niece, who also suffered from C, just gave the song a whole extra layer of meaning.

I heard the French version first and loved it.. she sounds like an angel. Now I found the English version and it brought me to tears but I think mostly because of the setting with her family around makes it more sentimental. She hits the notes better in the French version because the musical notes were written for that version. With the English words which begin with different letters the sounding is different and doesn't mesh well with the musical notes she has to hit. It would be like taking any English song you love and inputting French translation.. it will sound significantly off
You can tell she was so emotional. She held herself so well though. While this isn’t typically my kind of music, I love this song and I love Celine Dion. My youngest sister passed away two months ago; just a month shy of her 16th birthday. This song brings me comfort

I saw this show and this song touched me so much, that years later I used it for my mother's memorial service (she was a tiny, little thing with such a love for life), and there wasn't a dry eye in the place. I also used her "Goodbye is the Saddest Word" which is another tear jerking, gorgeous song.

Lost my younger 18 year old brother 20 years ago this coming August (2022) to Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Have always loved this song. Seeing her singing it in dedication to and memory of her niece, who also suffered from C, just gave the song a whole extra layer of meaning.
Played this for my grandfather's funeral 7 September 1997 💗🇦🇺💗 & listen to it every year x

In 2012 I lost my little nephew, he was 2 years and 4 months. I played this song for him to say goodbye. Every time I hear this song, I cry 😭😭😭

I do not speak French, but the first time I heard this song on "d'eux" I fell in love with it! It is one of my all time favorite songs ever!
I heard the French version first and loved it.. she sounds like an angel. Now I found the English version and it brought me to tears but I think mostly because of the setting with her family around makes it more sentimental. She hits the notes better in the French version because the musical notes were written for that version. With the English words which begin with different letters the sounding is different and doesn't mesh well with the musical notes she has to hit. It would be like taking any English song you love and inputting French translation.. it will sound significantly off

You can tell she was so emotional. She held herself so well though. While this isn’t typically my kind of music, I love this song and I love Celine Dion. My youngest sister passed away two months ago; just a month shy of her 16th birthday. This song brings me comfort
