Just love the behind the scenes work it takes for what would seem like a simple recording, audio quality, a great internet connection, and mikes are just fundamental.
Interesting as always, JAT. I'm sure people with a vested interest in VO would find this invaluable. But as someone who is decidedly not an actor (accountant, actually), it's still fascinating to see how it all works. So I appreciate it.
I was actually able to do this for a project I'm apart of, with the exception of using one mic. It was pretty fun: I got to record with a couple of the other voice actors and the real time feedback was incredibly helpful.
Great video. Did you have any issue with your voice before recording as you seemed a tad hoarse. Hope you're doing ok sir and thanks for another video that was very informative
It never occurred to me that DropBox is used by professionals, I thought it was just something used by exclusively online voice actors like myself, nice to know that it's used professionally too!
Hi James, I really love your channel because it gives insight to the logistics and daily life of a voice actor. I am 24 years old and I am really interested in voice acting. Is it ever too late to pursue it?
Always love seeing your sessions! Did you cut the conversation with the client out of the final file? I usually confirm with the client, wondered what your rule of thumb is!
I didn't put the session in with the client to not break any confidentiality of content. I do sometimes let them know I will make it into a video most every is good with that. Just not the content of the session.
+James Arnold Taylor gotcha, I was wondering that for the final file you sent to the client. Or did you just send the whole session audio on. Thanks for answering, know you're crazy busy!
James, I'm curious why you didn't just patch the Skype session directly into your studio mic (essentially eliminating the need for the iPad Mini)? Is it because you wanted the client's voice(s) to be heard on your session file?
Love these behind the scenes stuff! Keep it up James!
When James said "thanks.." I immediately though he was going to say "thanks for listening to my story" i swear this should be a thing lol
I seriously love your "Day in the Life of a Voice-Actor"-series! Great work man! :)
Thank you sir! Always great to watch a pro at work.
Great insight. It's very cool to be able to watch the process.

I generally sound hoarse, that's my real voice. Lot's of allergies.

Wow, that is a lot of equipment! I would never be able to figure it all out.

Question sir!...When you said you're track and his track- which track are you referring to for "his" track? His notes and direction?
Noice
Tidus in MTV?
Hello sir, do you use a mixer, or an audio interface ?
If it's a mixer, what make it and what make is your interface
James when you made the video that you said you are offering voice over lessons in did you mean lessons online
Yes, I may start doing some satellite classes thru my RUclips Ch. Stay Tuned!
that sounds great
