No other Tesla has 800 volt. You'll have to wait for newer Teslas.
@jovanleon7 Please explain why 800V is needed for that? I'm just a stupid electrical engineer who obviously doesn't understand this electrical stuff.
@@jovanleon7BYD EVs don't have 800 volts but already can output power as well.
@@sackboy5683This is not the question but 800 Volts systems can go with smaller cable diameters. As still Volt x Ampere = Watt. So also my Hyundai Groups E-GMP platform Kia EV6 is on 800 volts as in Europe only Porsche Taycan and Audi, only with eTron GT and both cars costing three times my Kia that delivers also V2L 220 Volts and 3‘600 Watts and has another 220 Volt power outlet inside the car for e.g. your laptop or so! It could power a few things in your house for maybe a few hours, that's it.
A standard generator is a better choice in literally every single way.
And it's a very bad, ugly, poor performing vehicle.

Ford Lightning is more of a work truck with its space for power tools and outlets and tailgates. The cybertruck just is not a total work truck. No, they drove out there.
Love it! 😍 I wish the Model Y could do that as well!
Elon has been stubbornly against the vehicle to grid part of it, but there are so many creative and useful cases here, I hope it trickles down/across to the more regular vehicles. Just a "standard" power outlet for the regional market would have many uses, and integrating the huge batteries into the grid would just be great. At these slow rates compared to driving or fast charging it would be no sweat for the batteries.
The onboard A/C charger is hopefully just bidirectional here. That means my Model Y has the same capacity as this (but it's not bidirectional), they just need to add the feature in the future. Onboard chargers being able to do this is silly to not utilize. I went 5 days, 2 separate outages, without power last year.

What a time to be alive in all honesty
How many stainless refrigerators were cut up to make these things?
That's great! So, the Cybertruck makes sure to only have around 25 miles to its destination where it's needed as a giant power bank. Then, it stays there while the other EVs return the next morning, after heading home, to give the Cybertruck a head start? :D Unfortunately, this marketing strategy would only have worked if the Cybertruck had the promised range, haha.

Cybertruck doesn`t have diff lock. Why?
because it's the next generation of pavement princess, not a work truck.
Short answer:
----------------------
Generally speaking for a typical EV design:
- Often they have multiple electric motors vs a single engine in ICE.
- Motors are directly linked vs indirect axle in ICE.
- Don't need to be constantly running like combustion chambers need to.
- Have 3 orders of magnitude faster response times vs ICE engine.
- Have much wider "ideal" RPM ranges when delivering torque - ex 0-16,000rpm+ vs 3000-4000rpm in an ICE engine typically.
So some of these kinda solutions are there to get around inherent weaknesses of a combustion engine that may not exist in a different propulsion type such as an electric motors.
Technically Teslas in general have open differentials.
Long answer from Quora:
-----------------------------------------
"The answer is, because ICE’s have serious limitations that need to be gotten around to make them a reasonable option to propel vehicles. The most obvious one is that the engine’s operations are self-sustaining (as long as they get fuel and air), which means that the engine needs to keep running, even when the car slows or stops. That means you have to have a way to couple and decouple the engine and the wheels quickly, on the fly (AKA: a clutch), our you need to decouple them entirely and design a more flexible way for motion to be transferred from the engine to the wheels (AKA: a torque converter).
But there’s more. The nature of an ICE is that they can only operate in a certain band of speeds, and there’s a segment of that band that’s optimal. But we need to drive our cars at a bunch of different speeds. So we need to design cars to operate a whole bunch of different gear ratios, that can be changed on the fly, hence the transmission. Now, the transmission is an ingenuous engineering solution to these problems, and has served us very well, but it’s also an expensive, complex, clunky piece of equipment that limits acceleration, impacts driving quality, and shortens the lifespan of a vehicle. Lots of effort has been expended over decades to make transmissions better, but the ideal thing would be to eliminate it all together.
One of the major advantage of electric motors is that they can be designed for variable speeds. They can have basically full torque the moment you begin to move, and they can operate and pretty much any speed you could realistically need. That makes the vehicle mechanically much simpler. And when you need to slow down, the electric motor can not only slow down, but can actually do the slowing for you, acting as a generator and recovering your mechanical energy. And when you’re at a stop sign, the motor doesn’t need to move at all, until you give it power again, at which point, it starts turning again.
If the purpose of a motor is to turn the wheels, direct drive is the simplest way to do so. The advantage of electric motors is that you can drive them directly, instead of needing all the stuff in between the engine and the tires."
Actually ALL CT models have FRONT lockers , and DM variant has REAR Locker.

Cybertrucks have diff locks, not sure what you're talking about.
