Apparently Stine didn't stop being disturbing. In Say Cheese - and Die Screaming, there's a scene where a kid breaks their arm ( bend in a weird angle as it were ) during a basket ball game only because the main character took a picture of the girl. Glad RUclips recommended to your channel, need more subs.
It's funny how we read this stuff as kids and paid no mind to the disturbing content. But as adults, we wonder how we weren't traumatized by the disturbing content
The two that still stuck with me are from the following books. Be Careful What You Wish For and My Hairiest Adventure. The endings for those two are insane. Without spoiling the endings too much, all I can say is Samantha missed her chance to get rid of her bully, and as for Larry…well…he’s 12. I wouldn’t want to be in his situation!
I’ve read two of these books, and the ghost girl in The Haunted Car was hard for me to imagine cause of how gross she was described as. But here’s another disturbing scene from Goosebumps, and the book is Stay Out Of The Basement. In the scene, Margaret chopped her “dad” (the dad in air quotes is a plant pretending to be her dad) in half and the book describes the Ennards. Here’s the scene. The capless Dr. Brewer moved quickly. He picked up the axe, took three steps forward, pulled the axe back, and swung it with all his might. The Dr. Brewer in the cap opened his mouth wide and uttered a hushed cry of alarm. The cry was choked off as the axe cut easily through his body, slicing it in two. A thick green liquid oozed from the wound. And as the man fell, his mouth locking up in disbelief and horror, Margaret could see that his body was actually a stem. He had no bones, no human organs. The body thudded to the floor. Green liquid puddled around it. And that’s it. When looking for the scene, I was reminded of the plants with faces and arms, which is also disturbing.
Headless Halloween is my absolute favorite Goosebumps as well! As someone who loves Halloween, it was awesome from the very begining to the very end for me. And even if the whole book is just a chain of disturbing events, the final one is the most messed up by far, but I just loved it! Talking about the most disturbing Goosebumps books, Fright Camp (from series 2000) was quite something as well. Only the fact that the story takes place in a horror movie themed camp gave me a strange feeling at first, and what's going on in here is totally messed up from the begining to the end. Some scenes were very unsettling to read...
Great video man. I can agree with the #1 pick. The Piano Girl also creeped me out as a kid. 2 I would included are the werewolves chasing the MC at the end of Werewolf Skin - not particularly disturbing but that scene was wrought with suspense and it scared tf out of me as a kid, lol. And the other one is the dog attacking its owner/the MC in Ghost in the Mirror. The whole first half of that book is the scariest thing Stine has ever wrote, imo.
I read ghost in the mirror years ago, I'm anxious to get back to it on a re read here soon! And nice, I also haven't touched werewolf skin yet either! You'd be a great one to get some thoughts on this from, and thanks so much 🙏
Who's Your Mummy from Goosebumps Horrorland has to be mentioned. In that the villains keep people alive for centuries, simply having them locked away in coffins so they can be eaten little bit by little bit every day. In one specific scene these people locked away and to be eaten for hundreds of years beg the main characters to please kill them. It is suggested that they beg for this death every night. Messed up story, just messed up.
When Joey stuck the fork in his neck, it is sticking in his Adam's Apple or just the side Of his neck Cause that is intent. I would have loved to see that in a goosebumps T V show
Great picks! I could have added one scene in Welcome to Dead House which is one of my favorite GB books and that other plant gore scene in Stay Out of the Basement
Hey! I love you channel! I have a request tho. Do you think you can try to review give yourself goosebumps? I red the og, series 2000 and horrorland series but I only vivid remember reading a peanut butter that grows or shrinks you or shrinks you or whatever. It’s ok if you don’t want to that’s fine, it’s pretty much impossible to review a choose your own adventure book.
They ended up republishing The Haunted Car in the Classic Goosebumps book series where they took others and gave them different artwork. Also as for any disturbing scenes I can think of is the one in Deep Trouble II where Sheena gets attacked by giant jellyfish plus what happens to Spidey in Say Cheese and Die!. Not to mention the ending of the episode of Piano Lessons Can Be Murder was pretty freaky.
By far, the most horrific goosebumps scene is the opening to a somewhat newer book, Wanted: The Haunted Mask. I won't even spoil what happens, check it out for yourself. Also, somebody else already mentioned it, but the happy tooth game scene from return to horrorland is another great contender.
Not in the book, but a "game over" sequence in the Goosebumps Point & Click game. I found it horrific that an enraged Slappy ruthlessly jumps onto the main characters head, essentially turning their face into a meaty salsa.
Fun stuff! I was just thinking that it’s funny that people write off Bone Chillers as a Goosebump’s rip off when some of the creepiest and most grotesque horror I’ve read for kids are on there, maybe an idea for a video!
I thought the piano teacher's fate in Piano Lessons Can Be Murder was much more disturbing. The ending to Escape from Shudder Mountain is messed up on all levels. The kids have to reset the horrors they experience throughout the book at the end for what feels like an infinite time loop, and the worst parent. It is implied their parents knew the entire time .... ?! A bad ending in Give Yourself Goosebumps: the Knight in Screaming Armor is also disturbing. You and your two cousins (who are jerks) are babies, but for some unexplainable circumstance. Only your cousins get to revert back to their original ages, you have to remain a baby, and what is worst is your fate is unclear. If you will stay that way forever, if you will de-age further into nothing, if you will eventually grow up. It is very messed up if you think about it.

My thoughts exactly

I live in your basement is just one disturbing fever dream as a whole and I love it

I'm hyped, I've got The Haunted Car on my shelf that I've been meaning to read and I just ordered Headless Halloween off Etsy today lol
Nice! After headless halloween you should stop and tell me what you thought! It's an all-timer in my opinion.
You need to do more of these if you can because this is great to know more disturbing scenes/moments in the Goosebumps universe.
Another will be out before the end of July!
"Ghost Camp" in my opinion, is the scariest "Goosebumps" book.

Glad to read someone else enjoys headless Halloween just as much!
Also yes fright camp is a good one

amazing upload! subscribed.
Well thanks! That made my day. 🫡
I really wish the monster in the cover of camp nightmare was actually the main monster. IT LOOKS SO COOL AND CREEPY
Awesome vid! The long white sleeves and black gloves reminds of the james bond villain Dr No.
Creature teacher is my favorite Goosebumps book.
Recently read it, enjoyed it as well!

I need to read that one!
Did you ever read Return to Horrorland from Goosebumps 2000 the Happy Tooth scene is much more disturbing then what's on this list.
Have not read that one yet
How terrifying is that happy tooth scene is?
The cemetery scene from "Welcome to Dead House".
When Joey stuck the fork in his neck, it is sticking in his Adam's Apple or just the side Of his neck Cause that is intent. I would have loved to see that in a goosebumps T V show

Need to read that one yet! Good pick!
Funny how this didn’t bother me as a kid but now it’s a little more disturbing

Hello and thanks! Yes I fully intend on checking out that series at some point!
I read The Haunted Car 20 years ago but don’t remember a thing about it

Gotta check your recommendation out!

I was just watching this in class, great video
👍🏻
How did any of these moments get by those was rated R movie type stuff.
I remember reading The Haunted Car, I got so creeped out imagining what would the ghost in the car looked like in real life.
I just found your channel and you just got a new subscriber ❤ . Keep up the content it is great!
Welcome to the channel! 🥹

Nice! I'll need to check that one sometime, thanks for the suggestion
Haunted Car is definitely Christine lol
The first blob scene in welcome to camp nightmare is a different level of vulgar and disturbing
Have you read any of the Triple Headers Goosebumps books? The Ghoul School story from the second book is pretty gross
Funny enough, I just picked up Triple Header at a flea market the other week. I'll have to check out the story you mentioned
I thought the piano teacher's fate in Piano Lessons Can Be Murder was much more disturbing.

Eventually I'll do an updated one of these, because Piano Lessons ending IS messed up.

I think I live in your basement is very creepy
Agreed! Very Twilight Zone-y.
Say Cheese and Die - Again!: the scene where the carpenter's nail goes through his foot.
