The 26 Boat Raid

Summerland Point to Pulbah Island and Return - 25 and 26 June 2023. There are so many videos of this weekend I wasn’t going to bother, but after suffering a heart attack a week ago I had nothing better to do so I’ve strung a few videos together about the big weekend. Fortunately no long term damage done and I’m targeting a return to the water on the last weekend of September 2023.

Mark thanks for sharing, I was out there in my laser but too shy to join you guys. I have had stents and a bypass as well so you have my empathy. Couch sailing with RAID videos has made my winter, keep them coming. I can't wait to join you during the warmer months. Maybe next time.

What are using to get your unusual video angles?

It’s an Insta360 X2 360 degree camera mounted on a 3m long telescopic selfie stick. The camera has two fish eye lenses on opposite sides of the camera that record a hemispherical image on each side of the camera. The images overlap which enables the camera to auto edit out the selfie stick. So at all times it films a globe around the camera in all directions. When you get home you then edit the recording back to a 2 dimensional image and select what you want to frame or zoom in on and pan around the available views. Or you can leave it 3D and let the viewer select what they want to look at like the previous 2 videos.
