    Can you talk about how the surcharge fine print works? Is it only if you go to those restaurants

    • @ColinAllCruisers
      @ColinAllCruisers  2 года назад +2

      Typically the specialty restaurant are prix fixe, with the childrens menu being heavily discounted compared to the adult menu. Because of this, the UDP is only available to adults (it wouldn't be work it for children) . If you are traveling, let's say 2 adults, 2 children, you will purchase 2 dining plans. When you make a dining reservation, you will add both adults, and both children. After your meal, when you get the check, the 2 adult meals will show $0, and the two childrens meals will cost the standard price for children to dine there (which is a set amount). If that set price is more than $10.99 then you will get a credit back to your onboard account for the difference. So if the kids meals cost $14.99, you'll pay that on the check, but get $4 back per child. Hope that helps to clarify?

    Is the dining package truly unlimited? Like could I book a specialty dining restaurant for lunch and then do 2 speciality dining restaurants for dinner? Like a early dinner and a late dinner?

  • @Sauceboss21

    Does the credit reset for say Johnny rockets at lunch and then playmakers for dinner ?

    Just paid $265 per person RC Wonder of the Seas 4 month out for a 7 night which was a steal in my opinion. Included 7 dinners and 3 lunches for a total of $24 per meal.

    Did you pay and calculate gratuities? Sorry if I missed that. I know that some cruisers and cruises from some places (UK, Europe, Australia) don't explicitly pay gratuities. For US-based cruises, gratuities are always extra and they are approximately 20% per item or package.

    • @ColinAllCruisers
      @ColinAllCruisers  2 года назад +1

      The price I paid included the gratuities. Once you add it to your cart, you can expand to view all details and it shows in there if gratuities are included or not.

    Good breakdown.
    Seems like great value on a short cruise like you did. It would be interesting to see if that value can be maintained on longer sailings. With a 7 night you might get burnt out on the specialty offerings, but a 5 night might still be ok.

    • @ColinAllCruisers
      @ColinAllCruisers  2 года назад +1

      I agree, it might be a lot trying to make sure I get my money's worth. For my upcoming 7 night cruise, it's $280 which is still great value, but I'm traveling as a group so most likely will be doing more complementary than speciality dining.
      I think if you could go into it with the mindset that prepaying is just peace of mind and flexibility, rather than a target or goal then it would help avoid the burnout. Personally I'm too competitive and frugal for that approach haha.

    • @kevwwong
      @kevwwong 2 года назад +1

      @@ColinAllCruisers Yeah I can't use the "peace of mind" reasoning either. I would absolutely be trying to get as much value as I could out of this.

    • @ColinAllCruisers
      @ColinAllCruisers  Год назад +1

      Unfortunately Starbucks is not included. It's also not included in any beverage package but the cafe Promenade is. It's to do with Starbucks licensing I believe.
