I enjoyed the trip though it made me a little sad. I used to ride those same roads 50 years ago. I was hoping that you would ride down Hammet Bridge RD. out where I grew up. We had a peach orchard beside our house (Dills I think). Across in front of the house was acres and acres of old man Noah's cow pasture that connected the Greer's cow pasture which fronted Buncombe RD. Beside that was a large broom straw field and behind us a large soybean field. I guess it's true though when they say that you can't ever go home. Heck, there were only about 6 or 7,000 people over a large area back then...now it looks like Greenville used to look. Thanks for the ride.

I live around there and quite a few things have changed. Dillard sold his orchard before he died, but it's still there and owned by another local orchard. The ice cream parlor is still owned by Dillard's family though. The cow and soybean pasture is unfortunately now a mulch and gravel site. Not sure when the Mitsubishi plant was built, but there's a huge polyester film plant down the street from it on hood rd. Downtown greer itself is pretty much unchanged aside from a hotel off main St and an apartment complex as well. In fact, there's like 3-4 different complexes nearby that have sprung up. I'm a young guy, but over the past ten years I've noticed a huge increase of traffic as well as terrible drivers. Talking to people in the area I've learned that 9/10 people have recently moved here in the past decade. Foreigners are coming in by the bus load so greer will unfortunately turn into Greenville I'm no time. But I am happy I got to grow up in this place before it went too crazy

The areas with below-ground, electrical lines are gorgeous. The above ground areas…not so much.

11:27 That church on the left used to keep a small boat in the retention pond out front, which never made sense to me. The boat was literally about as big as the pond.
