There are SO MANY things wrong with this show -Sally Jackson's character in the scene where's she's yelling at Grover. She would not yell at anyone like that especially not Grover -all the unnecessary parent drama, especially in the st. louis arc episode. The gods didn't interfere sm in the books -Randomly introducing info from later books (like may castellan) but maybe they have a plan for that -THEY DID GROVER DIRTY they took away his best scenes like attacking Medusa with a tree branch BLIND with only his sense of smell and hearing. They're doing the same thing they did the same thing to Ron in the HP movies. He's such a third wheel in the show. -They switched up Charon's and Hades's characters?? Think abt it the books Hades is all intense while Charon's just obsessing over Italian suits but in the show he acts goofy af but Charon's all "I take no bribes" -WHY DOES PERCY MENTION HOW HIS FATHER NEGLECTED HIM A MILLION TIMES EVERY EPISODE -Percy and Annabeth's roles r reversed because Annabeth is supposed to be the one knowing all about greek myths and monsters not Percy. Messed up their dynamic (not rlly a problem but it pissed me off) -Im sorry but show Percy is too whiny. Overall the vibe of the show is just reallyyy off. The book is much funnier and more chaotic. In the show they think too much but in the books they just go with the flow and Percy confuses every immortal/monster he faces by simply being more chaotic than them. The show feels like it's trying so hard to be Marvel that it forgot to be Percy Jackson. -They annihilated the waterbed scene. -Just removing so many funny lines in general. ("the satyr's blessing only works on animals" "Then it'll only work on percy", "say hello to the pink poodle") honourable mentions: -Gladiola the pink poodle was removed. -The part where Percy tells everyone to get free appliances from Gabe's electronic mega mart that's just my favourite part of the book Things I DID like: -Them showing how Percy felt his own mother didn't want him bc she was always so insistent to send him off to school. It's not really touched upon in the books and it actually enhances the original plot. -The scene where Percy tells Hades he'll never give him the bolt and all of them just end up being confused. Literally the only scene in the show where I actually laughed. I'll probably remember more later but this is off the top of my head.

Ethan wasn't a friend turned enemy though. They met in an arena, fought for survival and since Percy didn't kill him, Ethan had the chance to join Kronos. And when Ethan died after betraying Kronos, Percy saw that Ethan had a point and got the gods to pay child support. At least from what I remember.

After watching the show, the TV shows are more accurate than the movies. I would not say that the show is bad but what I would say is that they dropped the ball on some parts. For example, the capture the flag scene. The scene was suppose to magnify who percy is in the world. Him being claimed as a child of the big 3 is a big deal because he could very much change the balance of the world, they even bowed to him as he got the glowing trident. Instead of that, we got annabeth pushing him in the lake. The action choreo was superb but I just didn't feel the weight of the scene. Some of the scenes are like that (not most), most esp Hades part. Overall I think its a good start but there's still room for improvement. Hope they get a S02.
I don't think it was bad, or better at the movies for being a book adapation. However, it was not very good at being a show. Rick is a great author, but not great at writing screenplays. They didn't think at all about how things look in person, they didn't know how to write the fight scenes, the movements of some actors looked strange, the dialogues (although some were nice) felt outta place at times and awkward. The show didnt make me feel any emotions, didn't have any fear for the characters, any suspense, surprises. The movies although did a bad job at following the book, they knew how to make a blockbuster! The action sequences were all great, it was funny, I felt all the emotions, except maybe sadness cause both of them made sally dying feel like nothing. What I will say about the shows is that the cast were great at acting, and the were actually kids. The visuals, although not better than the movies, were still pretty good. You can tell they didn't have a super big budget. Specific things I didn't like about the movie: - grover's character felt so useless in the movie. Like he had that moment trying to sort out the fight between the two but I didn't care for his character despite liking him so much in the books and movie - leah basically showing no emotion despite finding out luke was the thief - they had no real build up for suspense in finding out luke was the thief. Like they were looking at clarisse, and 2 seconds later they are on a walk with luke and percy says something he never went to chiron, as if we knew that. - the amount of times percy sacrifices himself as if its nothing. Like do that, cause its in the book, but let me feel the weight of you trying to save them. Show me annabeth banging hopelessly on the door. Show me the worry of him literally running at ARES with a sword. - Annabeth's monologue with Hephaestus was not that great. The actor literally didn't know how to act. - The humour missed a lot of the time. - the vegas scene... not at all what I imagined. Was not expecting the movie scene, but not that. Disappointment! Lin manuel miranda looked awkward. Things I did like: - As cringe as it was, him pissing, napping, flossing in episode 2 was funny and fit an adhd 12 year old - The relationship build of annabeth and percy - The actor for echidna was so creepy, great work.
