  • Not a pleasant name, but the phrase was hurled at many Vietnam veterans when they came home.

    These men (most very young, 18, 19) were drafted, made to serve in the military..they did not want to leave their families.....the vietnam era veterans should have been shown more respect..the ones called them names have NO idea what THEY went through,,,,they had to fight to survive and unless you have served in the military, you have NO idea. The men deserve respect.....and DO NOT FORGET, THEY SERVED THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA..THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SERVICE AND REMEMBER,,,,ALL GAVE SOME AND SOME GAVE ALL....R.I.P.

      Deserve respect for killing innocent civilians? TF is wrong with you? Us Americans classified these men as monstrous and inhuman branch of mankind!

      If you were from North Korea we would all agree that you've been propagandized. But you're from the United States. And you've been propagandized.

      Uncle Sam had no right sticking their big nose in Vietnam. The only ones those men served were capitalist overlords. The people benefitted nothing from that war.

    The comment about the abuse being more likely on the coasts but not Nebraska was accurate...
    After a year doing what my country required me to do, I came back to the US in uniform to San Francisco and was harassed by a crowd of mangy morons calling me a "baby killer" but was not spat on... I have friends who returned but were not so "fortunate". Many returning vets were advised to ditch their uniforms before arrival to avoid harassment.

      Well frisco is a liberal hippie headquarters. Does not represent the entire country. But the fact is alot of troops were killing babies. They even had a unit called the baby killers. Its understandable why most Americans would look down on it

      Perhaps I should have lived in Nebraska, even though I didn't go to war.

    Damn war protesters: They hurled the "baby killer" label at even high school ROTC cadets, high school students who had never been to Viet Nam or anywhere else. (The record will indicate that some of them saved lives.) They threw rocks and bottles at car windows and buildings. Those war protesters defamed me to the point where I couldn't get a date. They owe me both a senior military ball and a senior prom.

    I don’t believe the third guy. He came off a plane, and they spit at him? There are no contemporary records of any such thing happening. I’ve asked Vietnam vets, and they always say, “I knew someone this happened to” or “a guy I knew heard about someone who got called a baby killer”, but I’ve never met someone who actually had this happen to. I’ve worked with many Vietnam vets over the years, but by far their biggest complaint about returning home has been PTS and not being able to get it out of their minds. And I’m from the North East.

      Cause they will never speak about it. They know what they did over there. I met a few vietnam vet in the elderly hospital that regret the disturbing things they did to innocents family's especially underage girl, childrens and infants.

    • @nat7100
      @nat7100 4 года назад +11

      Actually most of the kids weren’t innocent. The Vietnam people would put a kid on the street holding a basket. The soldiers would go help the kid but inside the basket there was a bomb.. yes they used the kids as booby traps. Also it’s true that people would spit at them becuase they thought the soldiers were killing normal babies.
