What is included with the YesWelder TIG 205DS?
    ➡ The actual YesWelder
    ➡ 110/220 volt adapter
    ➡ Torch with finger control
➡ Extra TIG torch cups & collets
    ➡ Pedal control
    ➡ Slag brush
    ➡ Gas hose
➡ Stinger clamp (for stick welding)
    ➡ Ground clamp
What is needed to make the YesWelder work?
    ➡ Electricity
    ➡ Welding mask
    ➡ Welding gloves
    ➡ Gas regulator
    ➡ 100% Argon gas tank
➡ Tungsten (2% Thoriated is what I used)
➡ TIG Filler rod (Steel or stainless)
    ➡ Stick Welding Rod
    ➡ Practice
Can the YesWelder TIG 205DS Weld Aluminum?
➡ No. It is meant for welding Steel and Stainless Steel.
What happens if I try to weld Aluminum?
➡ I tried. It doesn't work. It basically heats the metal until it melts (internally), but since it is DC only, it doesn't have the ability to clean or burn through the oxide layer on the aluminum. The metal ends up looking like the top of a frozen lake that somebody drained all the water out of. It's really weird. The bottom line is, you need an A/C TIG to weld aluminum.
Why would I want a TIG welder that cannot weld aluminum?
➡ TIG welding allows you to be extremely precise with the amount of heat and filler that you put into the work. This often means less warping, and less grinding welds when you want to make your work pretty.
It seems like too good of a deal, does this thing actually work?
➡ Yes, it really does! It is exactly what you see in the video. I'm not talented enough for camera tricks. I normally use my name brand TIG that cost me an absolute fortune, and weighs about a million pounds. This YesWelder TIG definitely welds thin steel just as well as my name brand TIG, and I can carry it around with one hand. The portability of this is awesome. I don't have any way of knowing how long it will last, because I cannot predict the future, but I will say that it is a great little machine for a first time welder.

I had issues with a smaller machine so now I am getting this one to see if it performs better. I do plan on doing minor TIG welding since its not an AC output machine but I will sure burn lots of 7018 electrodes with it. These machines are very light which I like compared to all my other welders. Awesome video.

The jack handle comes in to pieces and has the bayonet fitting to release the pressure in the jack and you need to hold the gas on the weld for about 15 seconds after you finish welding

    • @WiringRescue
      @WiringRescue  2 года назад +1

Keeping the post flow gas on the weld for 15 seconds after I stop welding on a jack handle is a waste of gas. It might be worth it on parts that matter, but this harbor freight jack handle most certainly does not.

    • @campbellmarty36

Units only been used for 30 min since ai bought it...They said out of warranty nothing they can do.. which I get.. however they also would not allow me to talk to support direct, only a call center. They also blocked my email when I tried to ask them about what part needs replacing or what error code meant... Buyer beware. Hope my incident was a fluke.
