Thank you chef! It's amazing how many people in the food industry don't know how to peel an onion correctly or in a useful way. Some people waste a lot of usable onion. At our restaurant, we have to peel 2-3 bagsful of these red onions per day, and store them in the walk-in to be sliced or diced the following morning. So we don't really want to pre-cut them. This is the best method I've seen. I wish you continued success.

Hello harpal Sokhi this is very interesting on how you cut two red onions differently. Harpal Sokhi I want to thank you for your Videos on RUclips channel and your new videos on cutting vegetables. I'm also looking forward to your Video on cutting Potatoes from diced to thin cut to cubes and fries and wedges. I find your vegetable cutting very useful and helpful to know. All the vegetable cutting that I see on your videos I've never had that education of learning how to cut vegetables in the right way. As I've never been to Chefs college school learning all the basics of cutting vegetables. I've never been to hotel management or a Place were People get taught as a Chef the basics skills of cutting vegetables. Harpal Sokhi I'm 38 years old and with your videos I feel like I'm learning how to cut vegetables with the method and skills you have been taught at College as a Chef. If I were very young like a teenager I would have gone to a chefs college school but being 38 years old I'm past it I'm two old for all that kind of thing as I'm not young anymore. I'm an old lady. But I'm very grateful for your Videos that are very useful for me to know. Because I feel like I'm learning from you like baby steps of cutting up vegetables. I'm so glad you do Videos like this for beginners like me. At my age it does sound very silly to learn how to cut vegetables when I should have been taught years ago. But I'm so thankful for your videos Sir. I think you are a fantastic Chef and teacher in teaching people like me on how to cut vegetables. I think your videos are very useful and very helpful and very educational for People like me. Thank you so much. Apart of me wished I went to Chef College school but never mind I got you as my teacher

Hello Chef Harpal Sokhi this is an interesting method to learn. I'm rubbish at chopping my onions. This is the teaching I need to learn. Because I've never had the teaching of how to chop an onion. But thank you so much Harpal Sokhi for teaching me the real methods of chopping an onion. This video is so very useful and very helpful. Thank you so much Harpal Sokhi. Lots of love 💖💖💖💖💖💖

Another thing that keeps the onion intact when dicing it is not cutting the root of the onion off when dicing it.

@@chefharpalsingh right, that's why its disposed of after your done cutting the onion. It's only there to hold the onion together while cutting it, then throw the root in the trash.
