I gotta say I love just how twisted and evil Doc Ock is in this universe. She knows full well that anyone brought over from other dimensions will eventually disintegrate, implying it's a painful way to go, yet she's willing to help Fisk bring alternate versions of his wife and son into their dimension not caring about their fates. She just wants to do it because she can.
Not just because she can, but because it's fun!
She only care that her invention came to fruition disregard consequences. like any Doc Ock, invention first, Peoples life later. If he were to put in army, he may be the most dangerous person.
“As many families as you want.” Damn, that’s fucked up.
That's probably why she said if we can bring as many families as they want...
Also gotta give the lady some serious props. She took a beating from not one, not two but THREE spiders at once and held her ground.

One of the things I really like about this backstory is that he was already a bad guy before the tragedy. So many animated films have the villain become a villain as a result of their backstory, but in this case, it's less of a reason for his cruelty and more of a motivation for what he's doing in the film, as well as making his feud with Spider-Man far more personal. In his eyes, Spider-man took his family away from him, and by trying to stop the collider he's trying to do it again. Just brilliant storytelling all around imo.
He just became even worse, like, the lost of his family was the last drop that spilled the glass
Spiderman might keep interfering with Fisks' plans, but we all know that it was his inability to turn away from a life of villainy. Kingpin will never allow himself to be anything other than a crime boss, and it reflects in how his family was taken from him. Even their alternate versions from another dimension were sickened by what Kingpin was doing to Miles. The universe will never allow him to be happy because he can't change who he is. Even when he has a family, he should've changed for.
Dreamworks did something similar in Puss In Boots The Last Wish where Jack Horner's flashback sets up the motivation for his wish and why he has so many magic items but it in no way explains why he is so evil, he just is.
Doesn't think to blame himself for a second, doesn't try to prevent road accidents. Already the bad guy as a habit, didn't think to be good.
Agreed, excellent story telling! And you’re right as tragic as his backstory is, at the end of the day you have to look at it this way. Kingpin did this to himself and he has no one else to blame but himself. He may have loved his family, but he was still a bad guy for the things he did and he did some bad things. Very bad things. His family didn’t know his secrets and who he actually was, and when they saw him about to kill Spider-Man (A Hero) they saw who he really was for the first time. They were scared of him and neither of them saw a husband or a father in that moment, they only saw a monster. Kingpin hates Spider-Man and blames him for the death of his family, but what Kingpin failed to see is it wasn’t Spider-Man’s fault his family died, it never was. It was his own.
“As many families as you want” she might be aware of the results.
I don’t get it. Wouldn’t his family just eventually disintegrate? Why did she say as many?
@@malikacunninghammer324 she was probably just trying to manipulate him, even if she knew the results. She appeared to seem manipulative in her speech when she said "as many families as you want" I think she would have betrayed him for her own vendetta.

LOL. For real.
He got some sperms extracted and have them implanted in her. He’s a crime boss, he got the money for that.

Think he’s the best version of the character on screen, as a RUclipsr said his huge size make him take over the entire screen, showing how much control he has, he wasn’t just a villain that want to kill Spider-Man, they treated him like a character. Kingpin cause the most impact in the spiderverse story he fractured the multiverse and created the spot unintentionally.
She probably liked to be the one on top?
But it was his fault though, Kingpin wanted money and power and Spiderman stood in the way of that. He wanted to kill Spiderman and was prepared to do so until his wife and son saw what he was about to do. So it was his fault being a bad guy, he coulda just done things the right way and not been so corrupt then his family would have been alive.
No it was spider man fault, you don't go and trasse pass his home where his family at
Well said, in this movie is proves that Kingpin isn't going to change and what he's doing by bringing other versions of his family to this world shows he's not taking responsibilities.

@@hamzanajji8615 He's a fucking criminal he brought that on himself.
Damn, until this fragment, I didn't understand why Kingpin needed a collider. Moreover, before the release of the film, I did not understand this. I thought he killed Spider-Man before the events of the movie, but then I realized that there might be other Spider-Men in the multiverse who could interfere with his plans, but then when he killed Spider-Man of his universe, I began to think what Kingpin was up to. And so, it turned out that he just wants to get his family back. And you know, it's a pretty good motivation. Despite the fact that Wilson Fisk is a ruthless criminal boss, he still loves his family.
Trying to bring his family back wouldn't have work anyway sadly. They wouldn't last in his world.

then a crazy bitch comes saying he could be reunited.
I kind of Headcanon that while Wilson was already a villain, he used to be more of an honorable and reasonable one. Wich is how Fisk is, at times, characterized in the comics. He wouldn't have been the type to endanger all reality out of recklessness until he lost his family.
I also like this headcanon. :)
In other worse he became worse
From villain to monster
Kingpin never considers that alternate versions of his family would be scared and confused if suddenly ripped out of their own dimension and dropped into his. They won't be happy to see him. They'll either love or hate the version of him from their _own_ universe, not this stranger who kidnapped them.
Kingpin is selfishly motivated. He doesn't care about his family, only the _idea_ of them. If he really loved them, he couldn't just replace them.
As tragic as his backstory is, Kingpin isn’t a victim he’s still a villain. His actions caused what happened and he did this to himself and he has no one else to blame but himself. He may have loved his family, but he was still a bad guy for the things he did and he did some bad things. Very bad things. @@monsoon1303 A supervillain from Miraculous Ladybug. Goes by the name, Hawk Moth.
To be fair Gabriel wasn't a villain, and he lost his wife due to her miraculous (The Superhero transformation devices) being broken and harming her life.
Then he went insane and became neglectful and abusive to his son.
Another close similarity is to Prowler. He has become a villain with a somewhat noble goal. And his son is the hero who stops him, with neither knowing the true identity of the other. Adrian can't tell his dad because 'Superhero', and Gabriel won't tell his son out of shame and concern. The narrative isn't consistent and sometimes contradictory though. Cause in a alternate timeline where they learnt the truth about one another Gabriel instead went straight for brainwashing is son and getting him to obliterate his girlfriend so... yeah. Inconsistent character flip-flopping between concerned yet neglectful father and comedically evil villain.
This is all sort of due to the creator not wanting to give anyone proper character development or exploration. Adrian and Gabriel have the perfect setup and nothing is done with it. Besides a book which Adrian doesn't even get to look at, instead being given to the MC and never returned

The fucked up part is that, if Kingpin and Doc Ock had gotten what they wanted, they would have dragged multiple versions of Kingpin’s wife and son into their universe only for every pair to die slowly and away from their ACTUAL homes.
Imagine it from their perspective: you live in a reality where you and your son/mom are existing relatively peacefully, and then an alternate version of your father/husband drags you away from everyone you know and love into another universe (because, given how different the universes can be, there’s no guarantee that everything is the same) where you’re forced to play family with what’s essentially a stranger and guaranteed to die a slow and painful death… and, on top of that, that many versions of you will suffer the same fate.

I find it very interesting how the villain's motivations and consequences become the heroes' motivations and consequences in the second movie. Kingpin is trying to save the people he loves from being gone forever, no matter how much harm he may cause to the dimension/world around him. Now in the second movie, it seems to end with miles being in Kingpin's position, knowing that there may be a way to feign death and save the ones he loves, while ignoring that he would likely destroy the entire world while doing so.
Its nice seeing that change in perspective but I also wonder what ending would actually be satisfying while not completely throwing away the buildup. I feel like it would be against the whole point of this movie if he ignored everybody destroys the dimension saving his dad, and I feel like it would be unsatisfying if he could save his dad and the world. I thought I would see more comments pointing this out but I didn't see many so I wanted to comment it !!

One thing I really love about the still-frames introducing Kingpin's family, showing Richard's birth and him growing up before we see the night they died, is that it emphasises in a way that most other fiction doesn't just what is lost when a parent loses their child.
Poor guy. He lost his wife and son, then he made more enemies. Wilson goes about his everyday business whilst conquering Spider-Man, Daredevil, AND The Punisher. At a young age we root for the good guys, but as an adult we understand the villains.
So do I. But the villains shouldn't go to the bad side in order to get what they want from the start to have a good life and nothing bad happening to them again. It's like selling your soul to the "Man Downstairs". He saids he will give you what you want from the start but for something in return. You accept the deal but you just ignore the consequence and enjoy want you want to be happy. But later on, your happy life soon goes downhill and you want to undo the deal you made but it's too late. The "Man Downstairs" tells you there is another way to undo the deal and get your soul back, _but_ many lives would have to suffer the consequences now. That is when people around you and the people you love tell you what you're doing is awful and you don't know what you're doing. You keep telling them; '"I can handle it and what I'm doing can make a good life for all of us!"'. That is when you are slowly heading towards the bad side and becoming a villain.
This now reminds me of how Kingpin and Wanda Maximoff are kind of similar in different ways. Kingpin lost his wife and son after they saw him trying to kill Spider-Man, they ran off and were then killed in a car crash. Kingpin thinks that if he killed all the Spider people from different dimensions, he would have his wife and son back. Even if he is ruining the space time continuum by having other Spider people like Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Pig, Peter B. Parker, and Penny Parker cross over to Miles's dimension.
With Wanda, she lost her parents, her twin brother Pietro from Ultron, and Vision. She is using her powers to create a reality where her family and Vision were never killed. She even used her powers to create her own children so she and Vision can live together in harmony. But the consequence of what she did is making people around her suffer the same "nightmare" she was experiencing every day, without accepting the loss she went through and not caring how many people she is killing in the process.
I understand the pain of losing his family, but he pretty much had it coming to him
Heroes always follow morality and laws. Villains understand these concepts to be just empty illusions.
Heroes basically force the villains to live within an anti-life system of morality and laws ("Us heroes follow the law, which makes us better people than you!").
The villains know they shouldn't have to live like this because they see the world as it really is.
And this is why i tend to side with the villains more now.
They are also way more interesting because they think outside of the box.
You don't understand selfishness.
@@remc0s wow what a fucking edgelord
The true feat here is Tombstone noticing the subtle glance from Kingpin from behind his brick wall of a shoulder
If kingpin really loved his wife and kid we would have quit crime yes that mean his rivals would have came after him but he had the money to disappear
Kingpins character reminds me of Sykes in Oliver and Company.
Mad respect to tombstone for still pointing the guns while being choked out
Never ask for a hug from this man.
0:32 is that optimus prime
Honestly Spiderman in this universe was the bad guy broke one of the golden rules don't attack them while there family is around just like when kingpin got aunt may shot and threatened to kill him it's just one of those unspoken rules
When see the size of Kingpin compare to the petite size of Vanessa makes me have one particular question……..👀
0:52 me to my doctor after going for testicular pain.

Awwww poor kingpin! He lost his wife and his son both at the same time. 😢 I feel so bad for him. Losing his family makes me and everyone want to cry😢
Miguel is just like kingpin if you actually think about it
This scene honestly made me very sad when I first watch the movie when I was 11
One of the greatest villans of all time
,,I killed Spider-Man. Why did I just see two more?"
"There's 3, actually."
@@stilwells ,,No, this is good, this is very, very good. It means you get what you want. It means my collider works. All we have to do is kill a couple of spiders... and the collider will bring your family back. As many families as you want"
Poor big boy
She said as many families as you want because she knows they will all die from being in their dimension.
bro really takes up the whole screen 😂😂
"…because of my weight"
my mans face when he whipped da guns out loll
It's his own foolishness and hatred towards spiderman, that caused the life of his son and wife.
