This movie did a really good job at portraying the feeling of dread and helplessness Miles feels when his uncle shows up. The way the soundtrack changes, the way his invisibility kicks in as his body reflexively tries to disappear. You can really feel that horrible twisting feeling in your stomach that he almost certainly feels when he shows up.
I know people talk about how Miles must have felt, but just imagine how Aaron felt in this scene. In the original characters, he's kind of a jerk to Miles. But in the movies it's established that he's the one bastion of comfort in Miles' life. When Miles is feeling lost, it's his uncle he looks to. Aaron lives his life at his pace, and Miles respects that about him. Aaron absolutely loves the kid, seeing himself in his nephew. And then during a job, he's holding this kid by the throat, and the kid takes off his mask, and...it's his own nephew staring him down with a face full of fear. That must have absolutely ruined him, his nephew knowing what his real line of work did and afraid for his life
And it was the last thing he saw too. Aaron, naturally, is Miles' Uncle Ben. Except Aaron's death was because of his own choices and the actions of a callous obsessed villain, rather than any fault of Miles.
Dude, that's true. As someone who has lived in a very dangerous place, I know exactly the feeling of both of them. Being a kid and seeing how someone you love could do bad things, or being a person in a harsh reality where you need to rely on illegal stuff to survive. I grew over this, but it's hard, bro.
"In the original characters, he's kind of a jerk to Miles" Understatement of the century. Comic Aaron is straight up cruel toward Miles. Exploiting him, even using his dying breath just to spite him, then comes back trying to kill him. Comic Miles' story is an edgy mess. This movie got rid of the edge while being a great story.
I love how Peter B Parker tried to keep Miles out of it to avoid you-know-what but the drive kept going to him. That was his moment whether he liked it or not.

DAMN that's a really good detail. It makes sense that he wouldn't want to kill a kid obviously. This is why I love this movie, you can watch it over 100 times and still find new things.
Facts also his team was less menacing then as well. Honestly Daniel needs a crown for these themes. The prowler theme got less intimidating after he hears Peter say it’s a kid
2:28 The reason Aunt May's line is so great is because, earlier, Peter asked, "I take it your friends call you Doc Octopus?" and she responded, "My friends call me Liv. My enemies call my Doctor Octopus". It's my favorite line in an all-around excellent movie.
It's a lovely callback, isn't it? Makes me wonder how they became friends. Super scientist making friends with a random lady who happens to be Spiderman's aunt. Crazy odds!
the thing I love about him is that while he may say some truly messed up things, he's never intentionally being mean. He's actually pretty nice all things considered, he just doesn't know what other people would consider to be rude comments
what I love especially is that the Prowler's theme preceeds him it's what plays during the chase, and notes of it play when Peter B. asks if Miles was followed, telling us very clearly he was and it plays again when Miles' spidersense activates, a few seconds before we see the Prowler's shadow on the wall it's so fun and clever and I love it
I especially love the payoff though! In the intro to "What's up danger" you can clearly hear Prowler's (I think it's a pitch corrected siren?) theme, but it's not as terrifying anymore, symbolizing that Miles now accepts the danger of being Spiderman
I noticed they did the same thing with 2099 in across the spiderverse, seconds before he would appear a little guitar riff would happen. such good sound design!

Everyone saying how awesome Aunt May was in this scene but I haven't seen anyone mention that it was TOMBSTONE she beat out the door, the guy who shrugs off high caliber bullets and has skin apparently as hard as diamond
why i love this scene is because unlike Peter Parker who refused to help stop a criminal what went to kill his Uncle Ben, his Uncle Aaron chose to spare his life which caused him to die. He might have been a villain but he didn't die a villain Best part was the language he said bleeding out in the streets was completely in sync with how Thug life he was.. as most Thugs who die believe they was just doing what was right
3:22 - I just love this scene. Aunt May's rage at her home being destroyed and little Spider Ham just breaking a plate on himself for the laugh... need more May beating up someone else, those guys were lucky that wasn't the universe where she is Spider-Ma'am
Oh my god if you go frame-by-frame at 3:41 when Prowler is beating on Peter B in the foreground, in the background right-hand side you can see Porker about to throw MJ and Peter's wedding photo at someone, but Spidernoir behind HIM webs the photo out of his hand before he can smash it, while he's in the middle of wrangling Tombstone! The little details they threw in here are insane, you literally can't tell wtf happens when you watch it at normal speed you HAVE to slow it down because it happens so quickly.
I really loved how Peter B Parker was really protective with miles and Gwen pushing them back behind himself not only because he’s more experienced but cause they’re the ones with less experience especially miles really sweet
Sometimes side characters just get really good lines that make them look so cool. Spider-noir "this is a pretty hardcore origin story" and Spider-punk in the sequel's "just for the record I quit". That's why these two character s were my favorite.
3:37 I’m really sad they changed this line, cause I remember in the theaters Peter grabs the goober from Miles and just says “Hey” to the Prowler and jumps him
I feel like the new line makes much more sense. It makes Peter sound more concern for Miles rather than just completely ignoring how he feels in the given moment
I love Peni Parker's silly but sweet girly anime pose she gives after making the drive. The attention to details these animators put in this movie is god-tier.❤❤❤
I swear Tombstone got violated this whole movie. First by Doc Ock when he pulled a gun on her, then by Aunt May with a baseball bat, then by Spider-Man Noir in the final fight
i love of how the police radio only mentions the spider people and not the half man half scorpion thing that jumped out the roof or the giant robot that was flung outside the house
I love how aggressive anime Peni is in this scene. Everything from the way she presents the USB to Peter to the tsundere way she hits Spider-Noir at his origin story comment. So good.
2:30 Aunt May called her Liv instead of Olivia or Doc Oc. I remember in a previous scene, Doc Oc said only her friends call her Liv. I know I'm likely reading too much into this, but I can't stop wondering why Aunt May would call the enemy that.
3:12 this has to be my favourite part of this scene💀 i like how the tension goes from dangerous and intense to calm for 2 seconds and then goes back to it lmao
I was JUST thinking that. Ok, he doesn't have super powers, but to be able to stand with the big boys I imagine he'd at least have a "super suit" of sorts. No bullet proof vest, or something to at least ensure you don't die from a single gunshot? I mean really, with how strong Miles is physically and considering just how human and vulnerable Prowler is, all Miles would have to do is hit him once and that should at least be enough to knock him out.
forget the suit, from that angle I'm pretty sure Kingpin shot him with that handgun through several walls and the roof. KP was in the alley next to the house, rather than backing up and shooting Aaron from the street. Aaron was at the apex of the roof, sure, but the angle doesn't work right for where kingpin was standing. KP would have needed to be farther away from the building for a clear shot
@@martinkarleskind8697 I noticed there is not one scene where you see him get in or out of a car, he is either already in there car or it look like he just got out of the car

2:18 super nice comic book detail. Peter's spider sense is much more heightened then the other spiders, most notable per Canon over Miles. His spider sense goes off first before everyone else in the room. Hence one of few key reasons Peter is often referred to as the main acolyte of the spider totems. This is also why he probably wasn't able to sense the prowler spying on him when Miles ran to Peter and the gang. Be sure to slow it down and pause it at 2:19 to see what I mean. Pete's goes off first, then Gwen closely after, then last Miles. Miles additional abilities makes up for his weaker spider sense though, so don't take this as a jab. It's more of a balancing thing.
Just think, if miles had stayed in his uncles apartment and waited for uncle aaron to take off the mask, they could have been the begrudged reverse batman-and-robin of Brooklyn
If a movie never becomes too exhaustinh to watch multiple times, its sheer brilliance becomes more undeniable everytime. Apparently, this is the perfect summation of this entire movie.
This scene gets a lot sadder after watching Across the Spider-Verse. It wasn’t just bad luck the drive kept ending up with Miles, it’s very likely the Canon was actively manipulating destiny. Aaron was doomed the second Miles got bitten.
What makes the scene so good is that Miles started to feel some confidence enough to help fight some high-level bad guys with the others. But because he looks up to his uncle and sees him as a father-figure and as someone he seems to idolise as the coolest toughest guy he knows, he has such a high respect for him that he sees him as someone who is better than himself in every way and hopes to be like him when he grows up. So when he shows up as an enemy rather than an ally, he instantly loses confidence and gains an immense fear with just his presence knowing, believing, that he has no chance to win against him. What also makes this scene great is that it feels like the movie is for all ages, yet tailored for kids around 10+ years old at at the start, then after peter dies the movie feels like the next few minutes has a target audence for 15+ year olds, then when his uncle dies, feels like the rest of the movie's target audience was for 17+ year olds. Extra: now that ITSV is out, I feel like it starts off tailored to 17 year olds and when his uncle comes out again at the end, it feels like it makes a jump and gets tailored to those who are around 18-20.
This movie did a really good job at portraying the feeling of dread and helplessness Miles feels when his uncle shows up. You can really feel that horrible twisting feeling in your stomach that he almost certainly feels when he shows up.

He accidentally broke a rock just by hitting it
A very powerful kid for sure
My headcanon is that Miles got the better power set, but isn’t as smart as base Peter. Not that that’s saying much, I’m of the opinion that Peter should be a full on genius on par with the likes of Stark, but it does set them apart. Miles has extra powers as a crutch where Peter would improvise with his existing powers + gadgets.
@@Betrix5060Honestly I don't know if crutch is the correct word, it's just a different skill set which in my opinion he uses to its full potential in the new movie.
@@Alex-vl1mk I say crutch because it's extra superpowers whereas Peter's intellect is just a high end baseline human ability. Take that however you like though it's not to bash Miles.

5:03 What a tense moment, had my heart hurting seeing his Jordan’s get all creased up

LMAO realest comment.
"Prowler, what are you waiting for?"
"CREASE HIS JORDANS"
I saw a comment once that said “ kingpin saw prowler was creasing miles jays so he shot him, kingpin a real one for real low key “ LOL
why i love this scene is because unlike Peter Parker who refused to help stop a criminal what went to kill his Uncle Ben, his Uncle Aaron chose to spare his life which caused him to die. He might have been a villain but he didn't die a villain
Best part was the language he said bleeding out in the streets was completely in sync with how Thug life he was.. as most Thugs who die believe they was just doing what was right
I guess he didn't die a villain, he lived long enough to become a hero.
3:22 - I just love this scene.
Aunt May's rage at her home being destroyed and little Spider Ham just breaking a plate on himself for the laugh... need more May beating up someone else, those guys were lucky that wasn't the universe where she is Spider-Ma'am
3:00 Penni just standing there bewildered in the corner lol
“You uh…just gonna keep the pillows on your hand??”
Anyone else really love the part where Peter B says “You gotta Go man” after saving miles, idk why i really love it
I have no idea why, but I love it too 💀
Oh my god if you go frame-by-frame at 3:41 when Prowler is beating on Peter B in the foreground, in the background right-hand side you can see Porker about to throw MJ and Peter's wedding photo at someone, but Spidernoir behind HIM webs the photo out of his hand before he can smash it, while he's in the middle of wrangling Tombstone! The little details they threw in here are insane, you literally can't tell wtf happens when you watch it at normal speed you HAVE to slow it down because it happens so quickly.
Just shows how much faster a spider person's reaction time is
lmao dudeeee how’d you catch that? You can even see Ham get confused that his improvised weapon just got snatched out his hands
I really loved how Peter B Parker was really protective with miles and Gwen pushing them back behind himself not only because he’s more experienced but cause they’re the ones with less experience especially miles really sweet
2:43 I love that it's implied that maybe Peter B's scorpion is probably more comic accurate, but he could just tell the theme of this villian lol
4:15 The way he walks in so menacingly 😳
Peter being a good teacher.
He always try to calm miles down no matter what the issue is.
So much details in each and every spiderman. Not just difference in looks for all the spidermen, but different animation style for all of them.
No matter how many times I watch this , It always hits a soft spot in my hearth the way Aaron says "Miles?" The moment he realizes what he's doing
2:30 interesting that Aunt May calls doc ock Liv when only her friends call her that
Sometimes side characters just get really good lines that make them look so cool. Spider-noir "this is a pretty hardcore origin story" and Spider-punk in the sequel's "just for the record I quit". That's why these two character s were my favorite.
Prowler's song is totally sick bro 🤟🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾 if that's how sounds when he breathes, he'd be one of the scariest villains in the spider-verse
The original soundtrack is called "The Prowler", composed by Daniel Pemberton. Find it on Spotify and other music soundtracks.

Bro I love this line
3:37 I’m really sad they changed this line, cause I remember in the theaters Peter grabs the goober from Miles and just says “Hey” to the Prowler and jumps him

i love of how the police radio only mentions the spider people and not the half man half scorpion thing that jumped out the roof or the giant robot that was flung outside the house
I love how aggressive anime Peni is in this scene. Everything from the way she presents the USB to Peter to the tsundere way she hits Spider-Noir at his origin story comment. So good.
That wasn’t really her being a tsundere. Spider noir just said something out of pocket to a kid who just found out his uncle is a bad guy.
I hope my nieces don't get Spider powers. Being the uncle of a Spider-Person is a serious red flag.

Anyone else always find it weird Arron’s fancy suit does nothing to protect from bullets?
It's more likely Kingpin has special bullets created to go through a suit, seeming as he's always out for Spider-Man.
Kingpin definitely has super bullets in case he ever needed to do that. ie, prowler betrays him and tries to kill him, kingpin has a defense for that.
forget the suit, from that angle I'm pretty sure Kingpin shot him with that handgun through several walls and the roof. KP was in the alley next to the house, rather than backing up and shooting Aaron from the street. Aaron was at the apex of the roof, sure, but the angle doesn't work right for where kingpin was standing. KP would have needed to be farther away from the building for a clear shot

Penny has heely’s!!! That’s so cute!!!!
It really does seem like Miles's dad is the only cop in the city. He's literally the first responder in every emergency...
3:29 best part
3:21 "I said, take it outside!" based Aunt May moment😂😂😂
This is legitimately the best fight scene I've ever seen
