the pen i did a comparison to is the lamy safari blue with red clip limited edition! i personally don't own any of the AL-star series yet but im a little interested...
@@konnrinzai which Lamy pen did you take out of the box at the beginning of the video? Lamy alstar is great, turmalin, black purple. Pacific blue and ocean are great
Nice video! Thanks for bringing this cool pen to out attention. The color combo is super nice, and the kanji nib would make a nice collectible here in the West. I'm not sure of the logic of issuing it as an Asia-exclusive, though. The way I see it, it's basically LAMY screaming to the Chinese counterfeiters, "Please flood the market with bogus copies of our pen and take even more money from our pockets!" P.S.: I noticed you are starting out with regular videos. From one small RUclipsr to another, I wish you the best of luck on RUclips!
thanks so much for your support! i hope we both have a great youtube journey! i think LAMY's logic may be that the West doesn't have the demand for the kanji nib (as english is mostly the standard language) as much as Asia. it's also something to keep in mind that the kanji nib is about twice the price of normal lamy pens to the quality difference is definitely going to show with any fakes. i'm planning to uploading at least one video this weekend so please check it out!
The nib is already available stateside. Here people call it various things like the "cursive" nib and stuff like that. It only comes in the black finish with the word "漢" on it and is available in lots of places. I have it in one of my white Safari pens with black trim. It costs a little more than the standard nib sizes and has a different grind on the tip. It's really fun to write with even if you're not writing Chinese, Japanese, or another language with it
i'd been shying away from the previous green lamy safaris but this was the first one i genuinely like! i didn't know the kanji nib was called the cursive nib in the west! thanks for telling me!
I’ve been eyeing the Cursive nib for my Lamy Al-Star, since I’m teaching myself 漢字 (かんじ) as a side hobby, and I need to polish up on my Arabic penmanship. I would love to see more calligraphy writing videos upcoming. Thanks for the presentation!
Man, I can’t read nearly as fast as your subtitles move and I am a very fast reader! I missed almost everything you said! Also, I couldn’t read what you wrote on the paper. Especially the lighter ink. All in all, a frustrating experience as I learned almost nothing about the subject Lamy pen. :(

The gold Is nice. Bronze too. Marrion brown is great too!
Which Lamy did you open at 0.14 mark. Was it the dark lilac or petrol blue?
Love the review for the new LE lamy pen. Just wish your subtitles were on the screen for longer - I can't read that fast lol.
thanks so much for the feedback!
i was planning on doing a voiceover but i got a little lazy haha
The pause button is your friend.....
@@PeterGorrill haha i'm still learning how to edit well
Slowing it down to .75 speed was really helpful.
Oh heck I didn’t realize this was an Asia exclusive! I saw it in itoya when I visited japan, I should have got it when it caught my eye.
ooh that's unfortunate...
im sure you'll have another chance in the future!
I think that gold clip goes really well with that dark green colour. Loved the editing of this video as well!
thank you so much!
I love the Lamy safari, I also have a special edition in the same colour, they are fantastic fountain pens for writing!
i use fountain pens so much that i don't remember the last time i used a pencil!
Thank you fro bringing this limited edition to my attention.
you're welcome!
this one is definitely one of my favorite LEs by far!

That's cool; I'd like to see the pen in this racing green and gold colorway here, too.
I have ordered blueberry voilet.
nice! let me know how you like it!
I enjoyed that, thank you so much!

@@josefilipemelo5381 looks like we've got the same taste in pens!
Excellent video.
thank you so much!
i'm planning on another upload this weekend!
Nice video, but please set the text duration to last longer. Ok for PC, but not good on tv.
thanks so much for the feedback!
That pen would match well with a gold nib.
there an option to have a 14k gold nib but it cost about $200 USD...
just ordered the Pencil right now. Gorgeous!
What Watch-Model is this on your arm?
hope the pencil arrives soon!
the watch is a tissot seastar 1000 36mm!
@@konnrinzai me too!
Thank you for your answers.
The watch looks very nice at your arm.
@@Panzerknacker69thanks!
i could definitely make a video on my daily carries someday
I had Lamy make me a personalized pen with my own nib design and there is only one in the world and I have it. 😂😂😂😂
that's so cool!
Gonna buy it ngl looks rlly rlly nice and its cheap
the color combo on this pen is on point!
will try to get this off amazon japan
i've heard it'll be released in may!
I will go to itoya to buy it!
I learned so much from the video. Thank you :)
glad to hear that!
i prefer the smooth plastic s the textured one. I feel I get a better grip if it's smooth
i thought the same too but i ended up liking both!
Sweet 👍🏻 👍🏻
thanks!
Not a fan of green, but this is gorgeous. The kanji nib, if the same as their cursive nib, is an underrated star of their nib family.

I suppose we can buy just the nib, no need to buy the whole pen as there isn’t any difference, right?
yup! i just got the full set since i liked the colors!

Blackberry is my favourite ink but for your new Lamy you need Diamine's Sherwood Green. -ΙΩΝ
thanks for the recommendation!
i'll check it out if i get the chance!
Yo anhelo tener el portaminas Lamy Scribble 0.7 mm o 1 mm, ojalá algún día Lamy lo vuelva a sacar.
I hope you get one someday!
extra fine nib looks better
different nib sizes have different uses for me
i'll be talking about this in a future video!

I stopped watching because the subtitles were impossible to read.
