Greg from Grand Teton Harley-Davidson sits down with Danger Dan to talk about the first leg of his epic adventure on the Harley-Davidson Pan America through Central and South America. Dan started his adventure in Tin Top Texas and has since finished the Pan America Highway in Ushuaia Argentina. This conversation covers the first half of his trip ending in Quito Ecuador. Авто/Мото
I love this. Let's get the Harley guys out of the bars and into the hills to really live.
This is one of the most entertaining things I’ve ever seen on RUclips! Has me stoked about my new Pan America.
The PA is an awesome bike, I love mine, best HD I have owned and I have had a few.
Dan is the greatest storyteller ever. If a book should ever be written, I would buy it in hearbeat.
Thanks for sharing your awesome experiences Dan.
Dan is such a great story teller. Great share thank you.
He really is! Glad you enjoyed the video! 👊
Dan is the real deal
That’s for sure! 🔥 thanks for watching!
This dude is a road dog.. love it, what a great soul man, great to see
he is true America
Epic story. Epic ride. Epic story teller. Dan is a true bad ass...seems like a long lost brother or friend. I've watched this 3 times, and I'm sure I'll watch it again.
Him running into that truck look really gnarley! Glad he’s OK
Doing the paper work from Country to Country Sounds like Driving in the Philippines, I’m 65 years old and still riding on two wheels, from country to country depends on the price and my budget at the time. Most of the World seems to travel on two Wheels, BECAUSE of cost. I find that most people are kind and helpful plus they think your nuts , crazy, loco loco. Hindi , wala, No-oh, International driver’s license works. I’ve learned to make several color photo copies of everything and then laminate. Thank you
65 is not old.
Awesome show thank you so much. This was better then therapy. Ride your ride, be safe, break shit, fix and repeat.
Thanks for watching
I did that ride to panama and back
Was simple, made simpler with my limited Spanish
Very enjoyable
Rode a KLR 650
I cannot wait for part two of this. I lost it when he said he was on acid on the beach. I was not expecting that.
Fantastic adventure! Danger Dan is inspiring! Thanks for sharing a great interview. I'll stop into GT Harley next time - just to say hi.
Great interview! Can't wait for a follow up
Wish the Harley Davison dealership near me would be this involved with our pan Americans. Awesome video..
Thank you!! 🔥
Totally
WOW, awesome content, Loved the stories, I cried and laughed my ass off . Hats off and much respect to both you Gentlemen.
Wow. What an epic adventure. Love the honest and down to earth narrative. What a legend to travel this far and wild and the bike off road is clearly a winner 🏆.
Well done.
God Bless 🕊️
Glad you enjoyed it!
" I dropped my bike off a bridge, upside down in a river......It was awesome" This guy is honestly just an awesome storyteller, man, I would love to meet up with him and have a beer...
I think it would turn in to 6 pack of beer before you knew it…….😂
I'm 20 minutes in and thinking that this dude is a great story teller.
Awesome story! Makes me wanna plan a trip to Costa Rica!!! This could be my life!!!
Fantastic story telling of fantastic adventures. Love it. Good luck for further travels Dan. LJ
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this! Picking up a 2023 Pan America Special this week here in Florida. We’re originally from the PNW. Can’t wait for all the new adventures.
Have fun!
This dude is awesome….!!!, the freakin’ Jeff Spicoli of motorcycle enthusiasts…he needs a RUclips channel. His story was a blast, best of luck for the rest of his ride, I can’t wait to hear the end of this journey. Hang tough Amigo…
Couldn't agree more!
I heard your story at my local H-D. I’m stoked to see where my Pan Am takes me
wow Great experiences, and what are the odds, I did about the same time a journey with my Pan America, Rode from Mexico to US to Canada. The trip began in Huatulco southern Mexico in the estate of Oaxaca, then to Oaxaca City, Mexico City, Monterrey, San Antonio TX, Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta, Asheville, Washington DC, New York, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Ontario Niagara Falls, Buffalo, Cleveland, Chicago, at Milwaukee we went to the HD 110 anniversary, Chicago - Route 66 - California, Las Vegas, Death Valley, Lake Tahoe, Klamath Falls crater lake, Portland Oregon, Vancouver, Whistler, Victoria Island, Vancouver, Seattle, (west coast highway 1 and 101) Astoria Eureka, Monterey, Big Sur, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Tijuana, Baja, Mexico City. If any rider are planning to come to Mexico I definitely can give you some advises, maybe even to join if any Pan America fellows are planning to ride from Mexico City to Oaxaca city and Oaxaca coast..
Great story, I would love to do something like this someday.
Go for it!
Dan is Bad Ass. The real deal.
Major theme… “ I didn’t plan” 😂😂 DD needs a videographer with him
Just give me a list of broken parts and software glitches, glad you made it
Texas/Dimebag Darrell style dude, straight animal
Hey Greg, stumbled upon your channel and l am njoying Dan's journey and story, but, l'm not watching this is one sitting. But l'll be back to finish it. TBC.......
Glad you're enjoying it!
I put this on in the background and then realised I'd stopped whatever I was doing and listening to the entire thing.
Excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
I wish my local HD dealer was as proactive as Grand Teton. I live in Portland Oregon and the dealer I bought my Pan Am from has 1 tech that they said is qualified to work on them and their service department is terrible overall. They had my bike last summer for 2 days to do the 1k service and I asked them to check the radiator hose because it looked like it was getting closer to exhaust. They kept it the 2 days and told me the hose was fine... and never did my service! I had to wait an additional day for them to actually do the service which they forgot to do. Two weeks later my hose melted because the clamp was on wrong and allowed the hose to slip off. I had to locate the replacement hose for them because it was backordered and then they used my hose on someone else's bike. Just can't win with these local guys. I had to talk to a dealership manager in order to get everything sorted. I wish I lived closer to Grand Teton dealer. Great video and stories from Dan
Thanks for watching. If you're ever in the Idaho Falls area, stop in and say hello.
*WTF???* Epic.
A american drivers lic is a new identity for someone in spith america
Someone has already walked into to California with it...photo everything you're handing over, only takes a couple of seconds..no arguments then!
Great Entertaing video. Where can we find more of Dan?
He’s really active on Instagram
2hr15min, I’m gonna have to watch this in installments.
Anybody know how many miles Dans got on the Pan America?
Make several copies of your passport and drivers license. Keep it in a safe place.
I do this when traveling in foreign countries, just in case.
Good 💙
He totally needs a Quad lock!
Cool trip, but it's kinda tame imo to keep going back to the USA and doing the route in chunks.
yeah mr rambo
Lower lumbar pain is real
Great campfire stories !
Glad you like them!
❤️Harley davidson pan america 🤘🏽👍🏽😎 best ☝🏽HD
What year model Pan Am did you have?
It’s a 2021 Pan America
As far as recomendations for a panam refresh or improvement... My only major complaint is that the headlight absolutely sucks. it is NOT bright enough and no you cant remedy that by putting the overpriced LED foglights on it, that shouldnt be necissary. The headlight by itself should be bright enough to go down a back country road at night without feeling nervous.
My buddies triumph 890 headlight is WAY WAY brighter, easily 3x brighter, and his came with foglights included... and his sticker price was 10k less than mine lol.
Other than that, everything I've done to the bike has been pretty optional and just improvements or making it my own. Oh, one last thing. The screen on it is kinda junk. It functions as the gauge cluster but if you ask it to do anything else like music or navigation its just... really unrefined.
How did the PanAm run on random gas when it requires premium fuel?
Soda Bottle Gas...usually around 80RON...like buying coke at a house party, cut right down :)
H D should equip all his motorcycles with dial traction 1:45:06
As the ass has dropped out the P/A market in the UK, glad i started looking at them, or I'd have never found this guy...brilliant, but he was scammed big time! :)
1st off where does this guy get the money to travel and not work..to just constantly ride and ship the bike and take plane rides back n forth, i wish i could just get up and go
That is the work my good sir
You should talk to Vagabond Troy, I know Dan knows who he is….
Hopefully Harley is paying this guy well. He is responsible for selling a lot of Harley’s “vstroms”
Should I get a pan am
Yes do it. I just got mine and I'm in love with it.
@@richardwilson8404 the bike broke down on me and they were going to give it back to me broken. Harley screwed me over with the pan America. Look forward to a recall on the velocity stacks. Hopefully your pan America doesn't almost kill you like it did me.
I traded the pan America for a low rider s
@@chueb how did it almost kill you? I'm curious now
@@richardwilson8404 I was riding on the highway at 80 mph on cruise control and suddenly the bike lost power. I then pulled in the clutch and down shifted and pulled the throttle and nothing happened, the car behind me almost hit me and I went ahead and pulled the clutch all the way in and came to a stop on the inside shoulder of the highway. That was a horrible situation. Turns out the velocity stacks melted and a rubber piece fell into the throttle body. Harley did not have a replacement for the velocity stacks as it's a new bike so they were going to replace the rubber piece that fell and not the velocity stacks. Therefore they were going to give me a broken bike that was gonna fail again. I should have sued them. Instead they sold me the low rider s for 27k with just the factory warranty. I'm not happy with Harley.
Hehe, haha....a little too much drama to be believable. Sober up dude.
Doesn't ever scratch the stuff that's happened to me...on the day my neck finally sorted itself out, after 22yrs...that never worked after going over a car, that happened in Scotland, took a disc out my back in Slovenia, by a 75yr old driver...some of things that happen out there!
Good 💙
Thanks ✌
