Love the 737.. just finished working on mine. it was my dads and it has really grown on me as a favorite. Sounds really full at mid volume, right where I listen most, with a set of B&W DM610i.
What cleaner and capacitor tester do you uuse? Maybe link them. Would like to see you replacing the capacitors. My 535 had a retainer plate holding the bottom of the face screen in. Pointer broke so would love to see a video on pointer care and replacement.
Got my 2nd 737 this week (The last one I bought new in 1976!) and re-watched your video after opening mine up and cleaning up and inspecting the innards. I noticed on the right of the 3 Caps you replaced there is another with a black mark on top. I saw that mark on mine, thought it was a damaged cap, so when I saw the same mark on yours, I was shocked. Do you know why it has that?
@@millervintagehifi3034 Looking at the service manual, I see that Cap is 220uf and the other 3 are 330, so maybe you are right, since they all physically appear the same, they marked it to avoid any confusion during assembly. For now, I'm going to use this system "as is" and swap out my 780 that has other issues!
I have another 737 in the queue. I just picked up some new (supposedly better) LEDs that do not have hotspots like these do. Assuming the receiver doesn’t need a lot of work I will spend more time on what the lamp replacement process looks like. I’ll also compare the LEDs (new vs old).
I don't like the neon blue look for this receiver. I'm going to start restoring my 737 and will test some different colors for the meters. I saw one with light yellow on the meters and looked pretty good.
For all, this sx737 died after running for days. I noticed the convenience outlets were off the chassis, basically bouncing around in the back. Anyone know to get a schematic?

The 737 is a special receiver, that’s for sure.
Nice tune-up! If you can only do one, the power supply is it; should make someone out there a nice receiver to listen to. Thanks for your time!
Thanks!

Faderlube and I use Atlas component/capacitor testers. Luckily I've only had one pointer break on me some time ago. I try to be extra careful...

I really do not...it could be a mark for something in the manufacturing process, some verification (manual), or something else.

I think It was sad that you didn't show how to change the lamps to led and wich type of led you where using.

@@millervintagehifi3034 Great! Looking forward to that.
Hello master 👍
Thanks for watching.

Yeah...I prefer incandescent lamps but the blue LEDs are attention grabbers when on display.
