I love my sx-780.
Can you tell me the name of the app that you use to send the 1000hz signal from the phone to the receiver? I couldn't find it in the playstore for android. Maybe I misspelled it. Anyways, It would be much appreciated. Thanks again for the videos.
The all I used is called Frequency Generator! The picture for that app was a picture of a speaker. If you can’t find one you can always go on RUclips and type in 1000hz test tone and play one of those as well!
Thank you much, I appreciate it. I ended up finding one this morning lol.
What was used to clean up surface plate looks like it came outta the box
I am enjoying your videos. Did the customer give you the go ahead to recap this unit?
I would love to see a video for that as I just purchased my first vintage SX-780 yesterday. I am verning alot from your SX-780 videos.
Thank you for your kind words! Unfortunately, they didn't. But I am hoping to get a re-cap video soon! Congratulations on your 780! They are one of my all time favorite receivers. I know you will be happy with it! I have another 780 video posting now! Stay tuned!

I enjoy your video's and work. I have a Pioneer sx-780 and believe that it just needs a good service and checked out. It is extremely clean, and I would like to start with a service, cleaning switches that I know need to be done, and a check- over. I m somewhat handicapped and my hands tremble due to some chemo drug I m on. Are you willing to do others' recievers, and where are you located?
You can find a stereo repair shop in your area I did the same on my SX 780 in Nevada
T - I'm curious as to what a fair price range would be for doing a service like you just did, and then how much for a re-cap job? I know pricing is subjective and bench time can vary. I'm just not sure if this is $100 or $500 worth of work.. Maybe you can translate it into hours of work and rough cost of components.. I see prices for "complete" kits for like $160+ but I don't know if that's a price a shop would use or not.. Anyways - just looking for a reference point as I'm looking at my first unit (SX-790) now.
what is the name of that spray cleaner
