Great video! I have lived all of my life in Tennessee and would catch crawdads in the creek near my house as a kid. Since I live 45 minutes from the Smokies I need to hike more of the MST. I'm interested to see how you carry your camera gear on trail, my camera body, 100-400, and 18-55 lenses make a heavy load to hike with.

Yeah it's quite the load to carry around. To keep myself motivated, I like to pretend that if I stop to rest, I'll immediately explode.

Last month I camped at the most amazing warm spring creek/marsh full of crawdads (and fish, frogs, tadpoles etc). You would have loved it!

also I lived in NC for 8 years and didn't even know about this trail :( I would have loved to do this in high school with my buddies, and probably a supervising parent since all our parents were pretty strict

Like the video, not the backpack. Imagine standing in some sort of public transportation or the supermarket and a potential thieve can access my stuff that easy. Just rip to open ...

If you're that worried then wear it on your front, you buy a cross-body bag. No backpack is hard to get into when it's facing away from you

Its a Mystery to me why anyone buys their overpriced gear!😂

    • @barbaram4487
      @barbaram4487 2 месяца назад +4

Probably because they so comfortable on your shoulders, back, and hips and they are quality made in the USA.

What makes them overpriced? You running around with a Walmart bag?

@@zripster I own about eight different backpacks, as far as I can remember, and I never pay full price!
Basically I find high value = great quality, at lower cost!
You, or most people have probably never even touched, or seen an actual physical version of my main backpack, which is an Arc Teryx Bora AR 63.
I purchased this highly adjustable pack, rated 5 stars by every review that I have read for only $269.00 at REI.
Of course REI also sent me a rebate which lowers the cost.
I noticed that a similar sized backpack like the Bridger, or the Glacier sold at at Mystery Ranch are listed at $375.00 to $399.00, and they have little or no adjustability, similar durability, or a waterproof nature.
Moosejaw is selling a Mystery Ranch Terraframe for $449.00!
I also own an Osprey Aether 65 which I purchased for $275.00, which is also highly adjustable, and a lightweight (32 OZ.) Gossamer Gear Mariposa 65 which I purchased for $225.00.
Rounding out my backpack list I own a Kelty Redwing 50 backpack, a Kelty Zip 38 backpack, a Gregory Stout 45 backpack, a Geigerigg Hydration pack, and a Camelbak Hydration pack. Perhaps I missed one, not sure.
FInally, yes I do own a backpack that was sold by Moosejaw, when they were owned by Walmart, namely the Lithic 50 Liter Backpack which I picked up for just $29.99.
I purchase very little from Moosejaw, which is now owned by Dick's Sporting Goods, unless I see a bargain like the Lithic backpack.
I have yet to test out that Lithic backpack, and keep it as a reserve in case somebody shows up and needs a backpack.
My buddy Luke from the Outdoor Gear Review tested the Lithic backpacks but was not that impressed, but it was functional.
      Oh well.😉
I have no need for over priced Mystery Gear!🤔
