    2. I think that Japan also tried to drop disease bombs by balloons. It might have killed some wild animals.

    • @popfiz7334
      @popfiz7334 6 лет назад +22

      From what I've heard, they never launched chemical warfare on the mainland US. They were about to though. A few Japanese submarines were supposed to go near the Western coast of the US and launch some sort of disease infested bugs. The diseases would kill people, animals, and crops. The only reason this plan never happened was because Japan surrendered before the subs could reach the coast.

The US did what it thought it had to to end the war more quickly and prevent them from having to invade Japan and probablly lose more lives that way, the Nazis killed jews out of pure hatred. Also, what do you mean "philosemetic fetishism"? Do you think that the Jews deserved to be killed? I'm glad that Bly, Oregon got a mention at the end of the video. Tragically, a balloon bomb exploded, killing a group of kids and one adult who were on a Sunday school picnik outing in a tiny, remote community. War is hell.

    Incorrect. Brookings, Oregon. An airplane launched from a Japanese submarine, not a submarine raid, dropped an incendiary bomb in the forest. A tree was destroyed and locals put out the rest of the small fire. The pilot who dropped the bomb was honored years later by the City and his families Sword rests in the local library.

    There's a lot that have never been found. I remember some hiker found one in a forest in the Pacific northwest years ago. Didn't know what it was. May be more in the vast wilderness of Canada. Other balloons got caught in the jet stream and swept into the Arctic.

  • @jimmydnuttjr

    The deaths in Bly, Oregon were actually caused by an aircraft bomb, rather than a balloon. The Japanese pilot, Nobuo Fujita, was the only Japanese aviator to bomb the mainland USA, and was tasked with bombing Oregon in the hopes of starting a forest fire.
