Since we’ve only got about a week left until Christmas, I thought it would be a great time to declutter to make room for anything new we’ll be gifted for the holidays! Do you try to declutter before Christmas Day? Or do you wait until after?

I've been decluttering too - it's such a relief. Takes away weight off my shoulders. With my clothes I have all my folded clothes in the drawers. In the hanging section, I have three seasons of clothes. In cooler months, only my summer ones are in a cubic bin.❤
I don’t have anywhere to store away out of season clothes, so I just leave them out all of the time

Hi Megan. I also declutter my kids' toys & clothes before Christmas! I had 4, so it was a bit overwhelming. But I did it. Your home looks so beautiful now. I do need to declutter my closet & sewing room. But I'm going to wait till after the new year. It'll be a big decluttering project. Thanks for sharing! I’ll probably declutter our kitchen & my closet after the new year 🤗 right now my. Loser is holding all of the Christmas gifts…so I couldn’t really get to it lol
I totally need to declutter I just procrastinate doing it thinking I'm gonna use that extra item whether it's a candlestick or a t shirt. I used to be good at it and getting rid of the stuff I no longer use but not so much this gives that motivation I needed! 😄
I have those thoughts sometimes too, but I just think about how much anxiety it causes me to keep it, and decide that if I really end up needing it then I’ll just repurchase. (It’s never happened though lol)

Yay to super long video! This is a video what I need bc I have to go through my drawers. I’m newly diabetic and I’ve been losing weight so I have to switch out clothes and decide what to keep. But it’s hard idk what size I am in jeans now lol. Great video as always Megan! Hope you have a great week! 😊💜
My weight fluctuates a lot, so I can totally relate to not knowing what size jeans will fit best! Maybe you could try keeping a small range of sizes?
@@lovinglifeasmegan yeah, that’s what I’ll have to do bc idk what else there is. I’m glad you can relate bc I feel like o my 1 of my friends understands it but anyone else no know gets it lol.
My house does not have lots of storage either and so I do not store off season clothes either. That being said, my family has some seasonal clothing (i.e. Xmas pj's) and I actually store them with my seasonal decor. Maybe that would work for you too. Great video!
We’ve done PJs a couple of times but not in recent years. I was speaking more to having shorts & tank tops out in the winter, and jeans & sweaters out in the summer.
@lovinglifeasmegan Sorry, I was meaning things like your Haloween t-shirts, etc. I store that type of clothing with the Halloween decor and then it's not taking up space in my everyday. I don't think my comment made sense before, and of course it was just a suggestion. Thanks for responding and again a great video!

Great video, Megan! 😊 I always liked to declutter my kids' toys and clothes before Christmas. I miss those days! 🤔😊 Now that I'm much older and living alone, I declutter my stuff from time. In fact, my bedroom closet is calling my name! 😂🤣😂 I have GOT to get that closet decluttered today! I keep saying that lol. Megan, I forgot to add, I laughed out loud when you were talking about all the pillows taking up half your bed ~ my bed is the same way 😂🤣🤣 Half of my bed is pillows and shams, and like you, I love them and they're not going anywhere! 😂❤

I usually wait till the new year to declutter but my daughters playroom was driving me nuts so I’ve already started. I’ve already taken two car loads of household items to donate.
We like to do it before Christmas so that we have space to put the new gifts

Mine goes into a basket by the bed…😂
