      I was so relieved - I thought I'd gone to a lot of trouble for a few shots of baboons 🙂

    What a great idea Rob! Loved the buffalo drone footage at the beginning as well as the baboon and elephant footage from the water. Don’t worry about the pink colour- it should pass as an oddly shaped flamingo.

    Exceptional demonstration of advanced technological techniques, sir Rob. Jolly Good! (David Attenborough voice)

    What a brilliant bit of kit! The pink may be garish, but it has the advantage of being easy to see from a distance. Of course, there will be times when you will need to camouflage it for various reasons, but the animals seem quite unperturbed by it. I also think that the genius of it is its circular platform that likely affords it greater stability than a conventional boat shape. You are quite the innovator and are clearly applying skills that are not directly related to filmmaking in order to 'get that shot'! Just brilliant.

      Thanks so much Andrew. Yeah, next I'm keen to try and add some camo, even some branches to break the shape and see if I can sneak up on waterbirds.

    I have decided to pause just as you recover floaty. The suspense from the disconnection & the violin in the background is is.... I have no words. So I'm saving it here to watch later with kids & wife on the TV with the lights off over supper. Can't wait to see the shots you got. Wanna witness those shots during the grand premier tonight! Too excited! Thank you Robert.

    Hi Rob, I assume you're using a flight controller to control the motors? They can get hot, maybe there needs to be an extractor fan or have flight controller on the outside. If not that then it may just be the current and wires being too small like you said. Great vid, thanks Matt

    • @MovingPicturesAfrica
      @MovingPicturesAfrica  13 часов назад

      Thanks Matt. The connectors that melted were not carrying a lot of current. They were from the USB power to the RC Receiver. I think you are right - Receiver gets hot, high ambient temp, enclosed space, etc. I think I will first try new wires soldered to pins with heat shrink and see how that goes. If I still have issues I will add fan or move Receiver out of box
