Huge kudos to Jeremy Koling for knowing the situation at various points in the round and setting the stage for the state of mind of the players and what they had to do to get in. Really created a lot of tension where otherwise there'd just be confusion. He was at his commentating best during this round I thought.

Yeah, they had 4 tree stands on the course today, and a 20' scissor lift on a trailer.
Love the effort... but honestly folks, the high perches were NOT the best viewing angles for the drives they were covering. I found myself wishing that any of the other cameras obviously there would have made final edit.

Wow, such drama. This is the most stressed I've been watching disc golf, and I love it! The pressure on these guys is so intense.

I was really rooting for Oakley, I wanted to see someone battle all the way from day one to the finals but it looks like he came up just short this round. We never got to see him but I'm sure he had quite the showing to make it this far.

I like this course so much more compared to those open fields where pros are throwing 500+ drives all the time. This needs maximum skills!

Welcome to NC Disc Golf! I’m lucky enough to be less than 45 minutes from this course, and other ones of such a high quality like it.
Agree. Best course so far on the tour. I hate it when the the winners are just guys who can throw the furthest ( I still enjoy watching Eagle,GG and Paul play though)
I'm a little torn on the subject. On one hand I like this because you have a lot of little precise shots you need to make, and it's not just about crushing 500+ drives as you say, but also the trees are a huge RNG factor, and I'm not really a fan of randomness playing a part in sports. I think the ideal course would be a manmade course where you can have tight areas that require precision, but the obstacles are easier to see/more well-defined, rather than random trees/branches peppering the fairways that are impossible to avoid all the time even if you have very good accuracy.

I’d be nice if there were a heads up of each disc they throw somewhere around their name. I know you guys mention it, but are guessing sometimes. A little pop up under their name would be awesome.

I've woken up to DGPT 2 days in a row!!
The play dynamic of McBeth, McMahon and Wysocki. We have watched them so often, the amount of times you can feel them feeding off each other is just like a small adrenaline rush. Also, that being said, Calvin absolutely wrecked them. Incredible play.

Somethings off with the positions being shown on the scorecards... e.g. 0:45 McBeth and Wysocki are T4 on the right and T7 on the left? For this style of event it would be nice to know what the players know, the current score of the other cards with the hole they're on ahead of them (whatever they'd see in udisc live).
Same issue was happening in round 2. I think that something wasn't being reset properly between rounds.

I've been watching Jomez for 5 years (or more?) and the commentary on this video is definitely top 3, if not #1.
Haven’t played in over 5 years. Went to worlds to watch play at lemon lakes 6-7 years ago and didn’t see any media or RUclips it’s crazy to see how large disc golf has grown.

Another great round of coverage. Thanks for all the great work this year, Jomez. Takeaways for today are:
- bring on some more of those elevated catch camera angles, those are SICK.
- this course is far too technical for players to jump into the 20k competition three days after first tee off. Sure they can throw a round each day, but once the cameras are rolling, and the crowd is present, it's an entirely different game. One could argue, however, these are the professionals.
I digress. Great coverage. Calvin took this year by the reins and showed the world that his name should be in the hat when best DG players are discussed.
I loved the reference with cloud breaker / lawn breaker... lol
gotta make the trip down to this course.

A graphic with the top 4 of the tournament every hole breakdown would be dope to increase the suspense when one player takes the lead like that. Making it feel more like live

Gutted for Paul but for most of the front 9 he seemed quite distracted when he was teeing off.
In general though, I do wonder how difficult it must be though to come into a tournament round on a course you haven’t played for days when your opponents have all played at the previous day
I’m sure they’re out there practicing it at least once a day while the other rounds are going on. I agree that they won’t be as used to the pressure, but a lot of these guys have been doing it for so long that they hardly notice it.

I like the tournament format a lot. I think every tournament should be this way. Adds to suspense and makes it much more interesting to watch. I think DG would increase its ratings with more drama this brings.
