Just want to tell the OP, awesome video! It has literally answered my long awaiting question for Motor Oils. Even after discussion with some Heavy bike and Car experts and some mechanics, I was using 10W-40 for my Honda Fit. I know, it's stupid and might harm my engine, which I am also worried about :( . But, the asnwer for me was the FLASH POINT reading on the oils.
The Flashpoint reading shows at how much temperature the oil will stop working. This was my main concern whenever I changed the oils, due to the extreme heat in Lahore and due to the traffic as well. I just confirmed that, 0W-20 has a 220 degree celsius flash point and 10W-40 have 230 degree celsius flash point. Meaning, and believe me when I say this, always always always refer to your Car Manufacturers guide on which grade oil to use. Needless to say, I will be using 0W-20 oil in my car, which already have 115000 KMs mileage on the ODO meter.
I hope my comment helps someone like me, who doesn't know which oil to use in their cars. Guys, don't ever take mechanics advise and always research yourself. Whether your car is 1KM driven ro 100,000KMs, use the manufaturer recommended oil grade, and for brand, I would suggest Liqui Moly. Thank you.
Our mechanics make the most stupid decisions e.g. if a car is overheating, they'll take out T. Stat valve
Taking it out means engine will reach it's operating temperature quite late which results in excessive wear (as engine is colder than it should be) and high fuel consumption (as auto choke is operating for 15-20KM in winters instead of first 2-3KMs) and once it reaches correct operating temperature it'll overheat again because they haven't addressed the root cause of overheating.
So by removing T Stat Valve you end up with a car with high engine wear + high fuel consumption on short trips and on long trips it'll overheat mid journey where you won't be able to find a mechanic easily.

@@meharbankhan9729 Best is to check Wagon R user manual for which grade you should use OR check the box of the oil that Suzuki Genuine dealership changed the oil in your car. It should mention the oil grade. Best is to use the one from original Suzuki dealership and stick with that, no matter what any mechanic says.

@@MTK90 if it comes with a manual, then plz refer to that. If it doesnt have a manual, please check which oil grade is used for a new 3rd gen prius and stick with that.
If there are any engine related issues like oil burning or black smoke, then best is to get it checked by a mechanic and then use the correct oil or may 1 step high grade oil.
For example, if 3rd gen prius uses 0w-20 oil, then use that one. But, if the engine is badly used and oil is getting burned and oil levels gets low after few days, get it checked and use 5w-30 grade oil. Best oil is Liquy Moly or Mobil Oil or Techron. Thank you.

You can use any fully synthetic oils available in market and change at 8-10k kms interval's..
No oil filter shall last for 35k kms as he said in Video..oils k pysy bachany k chakar mein engine Poora hojyega.. you Can use any if below oils which are pocket friendly and can last upto 10k kms

Make a video on original engine oil filter . We often use low quality local filters which don't filter well.

Very nice video. A few corrections though, you can't overrule what the car manufacturer has recommended so if a car requires 5W-20, you can't put 0W-20. The viscosity of 0W will not protect like the 5W, the film of oil between the engine parts will be different and instead of doing good you will damage the engine.
Sorry to say… but your concept is totally wrong because lower viscosity is only at cold engine or for starting in extreme cold weathers, so you can move to the lower viscosity like 0w without any hesitation definitely oil flow will increase in this case and lubrication will be faster in the beginning, after starting engine oil behaviour will b same in both oils, 0w-20 and 5w-20 viscosity will b 20 in both cases
0w viscosity oil is expensive but you only need to buy if you live in extremely cold weather below -40°C,
Otherwise 5w is best suitable and less expensive
@@waqasahmad3088 Appreciate your comments. Now comes the question of reference for all that you are saying. Is this your feeling or you have read somewhere. If read somewhere, please share that reference. I am not debating that thinner oil will circulate & flow faster in the engine, I am saying a totally different thing i.e. if you try to overdo a good thing against the car manufacturer's recommendations you may end up doing more damage than good and here is why, one of the main jobs of the oil is to form a thin layer between journal bearings of the crankshaft and avoiding metal to metal contact, the clearance between the mating surfaces in these bearings is very small, a thinner oil (more than what the car manufacturer recommended) may not provide that protective film and damage the engine. Only the oil viscosity & grade recommended by the car manufacturer will be able to protect the engine under all conditions. Stay blessed.

Sir i m using 5w30 in my picanto from dealership recommendation..can i switch on 5w20 without any hesitation?? Bcoz company manual recommend 5w20 for the car but dealership recommend 5w30..my car is 35k driven..

Kindly advice how many litres of oil required in grande Altis 1.8.
I usually use 3s dealership for oil change. They pours 4.2 litre oil every time, but oil check stick shows high mark on checking stick. Please advice
. 4.2 is recommended quantity
Also do not rely on dealrship in term of grade and quantity, choose wisely and start from 0 20 then shift to next when residual oil reduces more than 0.5 litre, shift to next grade amd remember always the higher grade matters not lower means 0 20 or 5 20 there is no differenxe if you are to shift from 0 20 then shift to 0 30 or 5 30 and so on

First Question: In another video of Pakwheels, it was mentioned to change the viscosity of the oil depending on the aging of the car. But today you mentioned that only the manufacturer-recommended viscosity should be used. Please elaborate on this.
Second question: If an engine is consuming oil, should we use thicker oil (20w-50 or 10w-60) or shall we use manufacturer-recommended viscosity along with some additive that can stop/ minimize the consumption?

If engine is consuming mobil oil then check ring seals in the engine and replace them, thickness or viscosity won't help you with that problem.
Sarib OEM recommended is only for new cars if your vehicle is old or used than use the oil according to your engine condition total speedo metere if you car has run more than 250000 KM its better to use 10W-40. 5W-30 OR 0W-30, 0W-20 are are only effective if the engine is new or other wise it will totaly damage your engine
If the engine is consuming the recommended oil, then simply get it repaired rather than using a higher viscosity.
Please suggest liquimoly oil for 3.4L 5vz-fe engine. The engine has done almost 150,000 km.s

mere bhai yahan per ye sub cheazain civic 1.5 turbo per apply keun nai hoti company kahti ha k 0w 20 use karin winter ma tu theak ha lakin summer ma gari ka temperature turbo engine k lihaz se buhat ziyada hota ha or is oil ka upper grade sirf 20 ha plz is bare ma research kar k wzahat karain
I've been using 10w30 in summers and 5w30 in winter in civic x turbo for the last 5 years and have had no problems what so ever car has above 142000km on it now

5w 30, 10w 30, 15w 40, 20w 50 all are recommended in owner’s manual.

Some transmission gears clutch are lubricated with gear oil. Similar case in honda vezel. That why we should only use car manufacturer gear oil.
0-20 or 0-30 for honda vezel?
@@Faaizkhan320 Allways use 0w-20 as your car is made for this, no other grades. Find any good api sn 0w-20 engine oil and change according to it's intervals it will goes life time.
Don't use 0w-30 as you car engine is not tested and made for it. I had driven it 127,000 km on 0w-20.
@@Faaizkhan320 I also get confused in the beginning because of people's opeanions but your engine can maintain it temperature regardless of the temperature outside. Use genuine type 2 coolant and make sure your radiator is clean from outside not blocking air to it cool down with operational fans.

Go for Toyota 5w-50 Taglon X. It's mobil1 blended oil. Grande also comes with 5w-50 Taglon X from factory.

Sir Kindly inform me Suzuki Mehran 2015 Best engine oil with Grade and for Toyota GLI 1.6 as well.
10w40 is recommended for mehran (this grade is available in almost all brands, Shell HX 6 10w40 yellow bottle or Caltex Havoline Extra 10w40, both are my prefered options)
And 5w30 fully synthetic for Gli 1.6 (I found Kixx G1 a great, economical and easily available option)
Make sure the Oil you use is original, only buy from reputed wholesalers or company outlets.

Great which oil is best for Corolla 2010 mileage over 140k. And when I use 10w40 for long drive it drop the oil gauge slightly but on 20w50 it remains same. But my engine performance is best still no need of any work. Kindly suggests me which grade is suitable for my car

@@fahadz9079 because now a days every where duplicate oil is available i used duplicate oils that's why my engine rings are damage i only changed the rings and services the whole engine now i put the 20w50 but you know 10w40 average is better than 20w50 if i use 10w40 instead of 20w50 its effect on my engine or not

Now my question is, I am using amsoil 20w 50 in my ybr and after third interval dealer said that amsoil not available now i introduced Adinol series bcz I take distribution of this oil with the joint venue of liquimoly so after a long debate I am agree to purchase Adinol 20/50 but when I am at 900km One night when I come back from job I feel white smoke, while my bike is on main stand. I shocked and very next day visit authorized dealer of ybr, first his question about oil that which oil and where from purchase. I tell him all story and share deta.
