    Master Hurley is the epitome of smooth. The cat is simply tres cool and his advice or two cents on bass players role or duty in a song is spot on.

    So James Jamerson used sunburst P-Basses back in the 60's and Sean is using essentially the same thing all these decades later... The moral of the story is if it sounds great, don't mess with success!
    Great rig, Funk Brothers approved! Love it!

    Love when a 😎 Bass player uses a plectrum, flats and foam an a 4 string passive bass to obtain a specific sound. Proper. Nice vid. Thank you. 😊😊😊

    It's cool having the volume marked on the amp by tape, as in the studio you can have it at the best sounding volume and it doesn't matter how loud it is.

    Great videos Warren!
    I have noticed that camera mic picks up the heavy breathing of the camera person annoyingly well on quite a few of your videos. I try to ignore it, but the sound engineer in me has trouble 'blocking it out'. The camera work is fine however. LOL Keep up the great work!

    Hi Warren, I knew all the great session bass player (not the virtuoso kind of) of the past set their string action fairly high, to get more attack, more sustain and less fret buzz. I seem your wonderful guests in all your bass player interviews set their action pretty low and don't care about sustain or fret buzz. What's your opinion as producer and sound engineer? Much appreciated.

    • @elmanitasdeplomo
      @elmanitasdeplomo 3 года назад +1

      Unless the strings are constantly touching a higher fret that the fretted note, I really don’t see how a low action could affect sustain. It just doesn’t make sense to me🤷🏻‍♂️

      People say you should always use the shortest possible cable for maximum fidelity. Personally, I think it's overstated. Musicians get really obsessive compulsive about minor differences no one can possibly hear.
