They were part of the glaciers that melted here a million years ago or whatever the figure is. I think 50 degrees they will germinate and can lay dormant for awhile. They say soybeans can handle cold soil better than corn. Once theyre out of the ground the corn's growing point is still underground so it can freeze off and regrow. Soybeans will die if they freeze out of the ground so its a catch 22. I just did it for fun to see what happens
That is a cool rock picker! Is it home made? Would be very handy for those big rocks that are too big to handle with a loader. I have never seen one like that before.
It is a nabor rock lift/picker. I got it on a sale years ago. Our poor old loader bucket used to get the heck beat out of it before getting this thing. I broke the a range gear in the 4430 digging a rock with it probably 15 years ago
I would love to give you some of our wetness. Those tornadoes that went through last week dumped the rain. Rivers were full. It is a sloppy muddy mess, and now it is snowing today. I'm not complaining. I'm just willing to share.
I guess if a guy leaves the rest in the bin its drought insurance, if you sell it all we surely will have a drought. I haven't sold anything yet so we'll probably have a local drought to include only my fields😆🤦♂️. I almost wish I'd off chopped all of the corn but at the time everyone had had enough chopping
Yup its just a gamble at this point. Its no fun owning it on the way down and it sure sucks watching it go up with empty bins. Gonna be a roller-coaster type of year the way its shaping up
I wish they were. I'd have plenty to sell, lol. Unfortunately, the guys that have tried to make a living hauling and selling them have ended up with lightweight wallets
Good Monday morning Iafarmer ! You got 4.6k views and 19 comments you got some fuzzy Math here. Go read and study the Bible it tells when to plant and when to sow do a little praying and go out and do what you think is best
Yeah for some reason it mustve trigged some algorithm or something. Usually they never hit 1k.. i guess i just wanted to play around and try stuff out. Will be fun to see if any of them grow
That looks to a seriously wide drag (cultivator) to be bringing home from a long way away towed behind your truck! Here nothing wider that 8.5ft is allowed on most roads without an escort and police permission. Above that all sorts of restrictions and costs involved including signage, flashing beacons, flags and escorts and only on permitted routes. -Your really lucky!!
Its about 18 foot wide i beleive. It was definitely a challenge and dangerous but we made it without any accidents. I actually hauled 2 of them because i bought one and then found this really nice one a few days later. 120 miles for one and 80 for the other
Where do the big rocks come from? What does the soil temperature have to be for beans to germinate?

Wow. We got about 2 tenths and cold again now. Forecast looks cold, windy and chances of snow/ice. I doubt those beans are gonna make it lol
Got me wanting to plant now. We are wet right now.
Gonna be another rollercoaster type a year its looking like. We're back in winter coats up here. Did get a couple tenths of rain
